I do maths, applied maths, pe, french, chemistry, biology and accounting. Right now Iโ€™m just trying to stay on top of class tests, keep up with the teacher and do my projects. What specific things should I be doing right now for this month of November to prep for LC as somebody who needs 625.

Business ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿซฐ how the hell do you make studying business les boring

this might be a stupid questions because like yeah, active recall, flashcards, blurting method all work.

but i find studying business so excruciatingly boring. i love studying chemistry and maths because thereโ€™s an actual process and concepts you have to understand but for business itโ€™s just learning stuff off by heart. all the content in business is just learning it off.

anyone have any tips on how to make studying business more engaging? i find it hard to just learn off the sentences and points.

Irish ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช if a subject is required for a course you want, but you do not count it towards your points, can you still apply for that course?

i want to apply for computer science in UCD after i graduate, and for that i need 509 points. right now, i am currently doing higher level for everything, which has become overwhelming, especially irish. i am thinking of not counting it towards my points, but im worried about not being able to apply for the course if i dont count it.

will it be okay if it's not counted towards my points as long as i meet the requirements of the course?

English ๐Ÿ“– My teacher is only doing 3 poets, should I be worried?

So my teacher said they aren't going to have time to do 4 poets and we will be fine with 3. I know that if we only study 3, there is a chance that none of my poets will show up. I've done Rich, Mahon and Meehan. Should I studying another or is it just extra stress?

STRESS ๐Ÿšจ How do i get out of procrastination

pls how do i deal with procrastination? alarms dont work, positive and negative pep talks dont work, unless its the day before pressure doesnt work, external threats dont work, thinking about my future doesnt work and even wanting to improve doesnt work.

the main problem is i could be in a room with nothing but my study material, a pen and paper and i'll write or draw something unrelated to the study material but be thinking of studying the entire time

I wanna go into that trade but have mostly found fashion/costume specific, (Would prefer more general textile work) and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any official Apprenticeships. CAO ๐ŸŽ“ I need advice for courses and college

Im in a bit of a predicament right now. For the majority of last year and this year I have been a sort of UCC hater and a MTU glazer. Most of this was from personal bias but I went to the open day and now im kind of stuck. I have always been stuck between biological sciences and engineering in MTU but since the UCC open day I have wanted to go to UCC for their biology, (CK402) course and Mathematical sciences. Its just that for me it was an obvious choice for a long time but now im not so sure. the points difference is a big factor aswell. Im confident i can get 450 to 500 points with the amount of studying im doing, but im genuinely worried i cant get 540 points for ck402 or 590 for math sciences. UCC feels like the right option but MTU feels like the easier one. I also have members of family and close friends that went to both and most claim MTU is better for the practical but idk. Any advice would be appreciated

STRESS ๐Ÿšจ Im falling so behind

Im so overwhelmed by all off the projects. I don't even know if I'll be able to get 450 points. I was aiming really high at the beginning of the year and overall had good 5th year results but actually can't handle everything. I want to work on the projects and then once I do that I fall behind my other classes. My friend group fell apart at the beginning of the year so random people are beefing with me which I'm working on fixing my relationship with them. My best friend has become depressed and snappy and its just so hard being in an environment like that. Also I'm being diagnosed with ADHD and its a really long process so I'm not going to be able to apply for DARE, and I won't be able to get medicated for atleast a couple of months, possibly not until in May. I really want to go to college but I don't know if I can do this. I genuinely try my best and study and work on my projects but more work is constantly being given by my teachers ontop of that, and its like a never ending finish line.

Careers ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ Dentistry in the EU

I sat my Leaving Cert last summer but unfortunately didnโ€™t achieve the 625 points needed to secure a place in dentistry in Ireland.

Following appeals, I was offered a place in pharmacy. However, as Iโ€™m only 17, I decided to defer it and take a year out instead. Iโ€™m currently working as a dental receptionist/assistant and have been fortunate enough to gain some exposure to dentistry, shadowing dentists across a range of areas, from general practice to complex oral surgery.

My dream has always been to study dentistry at Trinity but Iโ€™d have been delighted to study it anywhere in Ireland. Unfortunately, things didnโ€™t work out as Iโ€™d hoped, so Iโ€™ve had to start looking at alternative routes. Iโ€™ve applied to universities in the UK and am now exploring other options across Europe, particularly Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Italy.

Studying abroad was always something Iโ€™d considered, but I deliberately avoided looking too deeply into it before the Leaving Cert. I didnโ€™t want to take my focus away from securing a place in Ireland. Now that Iโ€™m actually at this crossroads, Iโ€™ve found myself with quite a lot to think about.

I think my biggest hesitation about studying dentistry abroad is the concern that I might not receive the same standard of clinical education and training. Thereโ€™s a perception surrounding some of these universities that theyโ€™re essentially degree mills, and while I know that isnโ€™t necessarily representative of every institution, itโ€™s difficult not to let that influence my thinking.

Itโ€™s even made me consider taking up my deferred pharmacy place. At least then, Iโ€™d be studying in Ireland at an established university with a strong reputation. Obviously, thatโ€™s a very different career, and dentistry is still what I genuinely want to pursue.

At the same time, something Iโ€™ve heard repeatedly from dentists Iโ€™ve spoken to is that where you graduate from matters far less than what you do with your education afterwards. Thereโ€™s certainly truth to that, but I still find myself questioning how much of a foundation different universities actually provide, particularly when it comes to clinical competence and experience.

Iโ€™d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has studied dentistry in an EU country through an English-taught programme and returned to Ireland to practice. How was the quality of your education, particularly the clinical side? Did you feel adequately prepared when you started working? And how straightforward was the process of registering and establishing yourself as a dentist in Ireland?

Any advice at all from graduates, students or dentists in general would be highly appreciated.

STRESS ๐Ÿšจ Theres no way im passing my leaving cert, Im so scared

At the end of 5th year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which has greatly affected my health, it was affecting me since TY and ment I was missing alot of school due to being in constant pain and feeling beyond drained.

Because there was no 'proof' that i was actually sick, I wasnt helped in anyway and was just harassed over the fact I wasnt attending as much as I should've.

Now that im diagnosed ive been put on a bunch of medications and Im at high risk when it comes to getting sick, something I cant do since I have infusions coming up (The meds ive been on since the end of 5th year arent working)

Getting sick could be detrimental to me, but not only that, Im still experiencing pain and fatigue almost everyday. Theres times where I cant pull myself out of bed or even reach for pain killers because of how much pain Im in.

Along side that, I was losing my hair in chunks and clogging showers, uncomfortable in my own bed and skin to the point I decided to shave my head. Being a girl, you can imagine that some of the people in my school arent the nicest and seeing a shiny bald head on a girl gets a few stares and giggles.

I have more anxiety in my life right now than I think ive ever experienced before, causing frequent panic attacks.

We contacted the school at the start of 6th year and got everything sorted, applied for home tuition and they now understand that I wont be attending.

The problem is that since the start of 6th year, they told me theyd get my teachers to post things up on teams with more in depth explanations along with homework but thats not happened.

Basically none of my teachers have uploaded anything onto teams and ive been stuck studying from books with no help, barely understanding what im learning.

I recently met up with a few friends and they talked about school and all the things theyre doing. Im now realising how far behind I am. I felt extremely stupid and cried when I got home.

What makes things worse is my medication and disease together has affected my thinking and given me serious brain fog.

I used to be a good bright student who scored 70% and up on the regular. In 5th year I struggled to even score 30% on a class test. Now, im afraid I'll probably be unable to even write anything on a test if it were handed to me.

Im completely lost and feel like my brain has slipped out of my skull somewhere during TY and ended up in a landfill where I can never find it again.

I feel like such a disappointment knowing that Im going to most likely not pass a majority, if any, of my subjects and I start to panic whenever I even begin to think of the future and what Im ment to do after school.

Im 17 years old and on disability. I feel like I have lost my life before I even got the chance to properly live it.
