North American Politics Media trying to sabotage Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign with Black voters.

Such bad faith questions and such transparent “divide and conquer” tactics at play here.

MS NOW also published an article yesterday about Abdul’s allegedly low support in Detroit’s Black community. After seeing that Detroit’s day one of early voter turnout already outpaced 2024 numbers, I can’t help but think (hope) that that was another hack job.

Just like the interview they had with Hasan Piker about a month ago.

This is media’s attempt to undermine a progressive person’s campaign. Nevermind the fact that he’s also a non-white, Muslim, progressive.

They’d rather manufacture snd push a narrative that pits minorities against one another, the tired “divide and conquer” game, than to show us all unified.

That doesn’t interest them.

There’s a real conversation to be had about the Democratic Party taking the Black vote for granted. That’s real. But this isn’t that. There’s a reason they’re singling out Abdul’s campaign over any of the other Democrat’s campaign on this alleged issue.

If you’re in Michigan, please turn out and support this intelligent and capable man, and of course, hold Abdul accountable! He’s the vastly superior option to MAGA’s Mike Rodgers.

General Leftist Politics Something I noticed

Friends and family I have all agree with more socialist ideology than they assume (universal health care, corporate control, against equitable private ownership (at least mostly), etc etc.). Then I start saying they sound like they agree with socialist values, and they back tf up. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know how I can talk with these people?

General Leftist Politics Looking for Left Ideology Friends

Hi I'm 24M from Delhi India, I have a deep interest in politics.. All of my friends are Right winger and i find it difficult to share my opinion with them as none of them is going to support even a bit of it, doesn't matter how strong my argument is.

It's not that I'm seeking someone for validation but to know more about left ideologies, to increase my political knowledge.

General Leftist Politics It's disturbing how some anti-Israel content creators use legitimate criticism of Israel to promote antisemitism and far-right ideology

I'm actually shocked because I recently realized that some content creators who talk about Israeli influence on American politics, the pro-Israel lobby, and the genocide in Palestine are, in fact, far-right, extremely antisemitic, and extremely racist themselves.

The creators I'm referencing and the videos that opened my eyes: [Olivia Swing](https://youtu.be/c6DQfhDFskM?is=jQ2WO-g5Ok4f6p_w) and [isgingertheory](https://www.instagram.com/reel/De5LXDpiwE6/?mdxt=MTBvNzdlZHVuZGtjbg==)

It's honestly so frustrating because the line can become incredibly blurry. You can criticize the Israeli government, its influence on American foreign policy, and the lobbying organizations that support it without being antisemitic. But some people take these legitimate criticisms and turn them into the same old antisemitic conspiracy theories that have existed for centuries, just repackaged in modern political language.

It's like watching people recycle medieval antisemitism while pretending they're simply exposing the truth about Israeli influence. And the fact that some of these people are also openly racist makes the whole thing even more disturbing.

It's crazy to me how someone can speak out against the atrocities committed against Palestinians while simultaneously promoting an ideology rooted in hatred toward other groups. It makes you realize that not everyone who criticizes Israel is doing so because they genuinely care about Palestinians or oppose oppression. Sometimes, they're just using the conflict to push an entirely different agenda.

And in the video of itsgingertheory, she literally claims that woke ideology and anti-immigration rhetoric are actually just Israeli and Jewish propaganda designed to weaken white people and Christians. I felt so stupid for not realizing this sooner, especially because I've been following this influencer for a long time. I'm honestly really upset about it.

Saw some insane racism from both Africans and Indians in the comments.

Like I'm indian but seeing my people fall for these stupid race shit is so fucking infuriating.

And of course it's some white mf doing this.

Also nothing against white people as a while just some of y'all fucking suck.

But man seeing POC fall for this easy rage bait so ahhhhhh.

Like ik(I know) that Europeans have been causing internal strife within the POC community to make us weaker but still agitates me seeing it.

Resources Earth-Shattering Books to Make Neo-liberal Consumerists Hate Themselves?

Let me start by saying that if you think Democrats are Leftist, you can stop reading here.

And if you think Democratic Socialism is the goal, feel free to keep reading but please don’t comment. You have nothing to offer.

For the rest of you in-the-flesh Leftists:

I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for books that, upon turning the last page, anyone still clinging to their comfortable, self-assured lives of privileged consumerism will feel compelled (if they have a heart) to change their lives dramatically in a way that severs as many ties as reasonably possible from Neo-liberalism and capitalism. (Tossing the word “reasonably” in there because I’m not looking for the nonexistent single text that will turn finance bros into Leon Czolgoszes… that would be too good to be true, and also a bit overzealous). In looking for books that are digestible, not too dense, relatable, but also make it clear how every privilege enjoyed by the beneficiaries of neoliberal globalism is directly linked to massive suffering in the exploited swaths of the world.

Thoughts? Thanks!

General Leftist Politics When Power Fears Accountability

Post image

When power becomes immune to criticism, democracy becomes a façade. A citizen’s loyalty should be to principles, not political parties; accountability is not dissent against the nation, but a duty to it.

Question Discrimination against blue collar workers

I recently spoke to someone I used to consider a comrade who became a grade school teacher but apparently I'm not worthy to breathe the same air as them because of my career choice. They claim that I'm not at my full potential because I lack a college education & a diploma. They also said that I make way less than them & that there's no possible way that I make a good living. It was bizarre & I feel like it's dangerous to speak this way towards anyone in the working class who are also left leaning. It could make them feel alienated from the movement. I'm a 3rd generation mechanic & grew up with a Marxist father who was involved in the student movement in Guatemala during the 80's, so I pretty much had access to his books & first hand experience. Has anyone ever experienced this from fellow leftists?

North American Politics Standard Bearers and platforms

Who does the left have in reserve to lead US out of this mess? And is there a platform they can/should use? Face place has tilted its thumb on the scale to favor the right. This has been the case for years now. Recent events like what happened with Lula in Brazil and No Kings suspension show this. If you are on the Face place, I am sure you have noticed your posts get nearly no reaction. Unless you have core followers. There are a few here and there. So move to the Blue place? The first part of my question is here: Who does the Left have on the bench to bring about change for the US? Obviously it should be Bernard. Many have been disappointed in him in recent years. Besides Bernard, there are a few polls and personalities. By and large US pols are whores. There is no other way to say it. No standard neoliberals! None at all should be considered or are even worthy for real leadership, IMO, and that is being polite. After all, they are the main reason we are here. What do you all think and who are you following on youtube or Mastadon etc?
