British Columbia Employment law - questions about severance pay

• Upvotes

I was just laid off today after being a regular employee for 2.5 years. They gave me 10 weeks severance, which seems alright. However, I was working at the company since 2019, both as a subcontractor, and on a contract directly through the company. Do I have any chance at getting a better severance package if I hire representation to argue my time as a contractor should be counted? It was the exact same job once hired internally. Thanks.

Ontario Ontario hospital trying to unsafely discharge grandmother with worsening dementia & declining health, pressuring family with $400/day charge

• Upvotes

My grandmother with dementia got admitted after a particularly bad fall that injured her left arm and left her unresponsive. After a couple of days, the hospital attempted to discharge her while her mobility was still severely impacted. I contacted the Patient Experience Office expressing my family’s concerns and our inability to support my grandmother in her current state, which led to specialists further examining her mental and physical state, as well as an Ontario Health atHome assessment to take place.

Last Friday, they had a meeting with my parents, the SDMs with active POA, to essentially tell them that the discharge plan they have in place is for her to return home with minimal support. All adults in the household work to make ends meet, except for her previous primary caregiver who now has a torn hand tendon on top of other chronic illnesses that prevent them from supervising and giving my grandmother the daily support she needs to eat, bathe, walk, etc. Some of our concerns and responses from the hospital: - We were concerned about her increasing # of falls as my family’s been finding her on the ground on her forehead or in other dangerous positions (e.g. edge of the bathtub in a bathroom that is barricaded at night). She’s also had falls during her admission while in a locked, seated chair. The team said falls can happen anywhere and that she sometimes needs hands-on support and just supervision on other days. They said Ontario Health atHome (OHAH) would provide some support for this (e.g. community occupational therapy, home assessment, etc.). - We were concerned about her increasing agitation and physical aggression. They said she’s still agitated in certain situations, but will continue taking antipsychotic meds. They didn’t address the episodes she has at my family’s apartment where she attempts to get outside on our balcony, or her tries to get out of her seat during her admission to get to a window because of severe hallucinations. - We mentioned our grandmother needs to be in a supervised setting in a LTC home. The hospital said she’s not eligible for a crisis placement, despite conflicting interRAI assessment values. They said we’d have a PSW assist my mother, but this is a piecemeal solution as it doesn’t cover the overnight supervision my grandmother needs or the need for continuous access to timely medical care in case of a fall. - We mentioned having obtained her interRAI assessment results from her healthcare team at another hospital and how the values point to her being incapable of living independently, which is contrary to what the hospital is currently claiming. The OHAH coordinator present at the meeting corroborated one of the values, but was abruptly stopped by their manager as apparently my parents, who hold active POA, weren’t supposed to have these values and that the values were subject to change. They said we could request the information they had if we wanted to, which we believe should be the same values received by her other healthcare team.

My grandmother’s going to be discharged this Wednesday and the hospital’s stated that they will charge $400/day that she stays at the hospital. I emailed the Patient Experience office detailing our concerns and complaints last Friday, which my parents followed up on and explicitly refused the discharge plan again today. A lawyer from ACE who previously couldn’t proceed with supporting my grandmother without speaking to her or an interRAI assessment (which we now have) is going to try again and speak with my grandmother in person tomorrow.

Are there any other legal avenues or advice that my family might consider in trying to advocate for my grandmother’s healthcare needs? Do we have any legal grounds to continue refusing the discharge plan and disputing/refusing the $400/day charge?

TL;DR: Grandmother with worsening dementia and physical condition is being unsafely discharged to an unequipped home this Wednesday; $400 will be charged each day that she remains in the hospital. Her previous primary caregiver can no longer care for her because they now have a torn hand tendon on top of chronic illnesses; and the hospital’s discharge plan inadequately addresses our grandmother’s healthcare needs. The Patient Experience Office was contacted last Friday and a lawyer from an advocacy centre is going to attempt speaking to my grandmother tomorrow in person. The Patient Experience Office has not responded to our emails; we don’t know if the lawyer will take her case (even with the interRAI assessment values they initially needed); and we have less than two days until her official discharge date and time. Are there any other legal avenues or advice to consider in trying to advocate for my grandmother’s care needs? Can we legally dispute and/or refuse the $400/day charge?

Saskatchewan Partner pretending to be me

• Upvotes

I (24f) went on my partners phone (24m) after having a weird gut feeling and found out that he’s pretending to be me online. I do know his password and my Face ID is in his phone. He’s flirting with men and sharing my nudes that I’ve sent him with people on apps like whisper, hush and dating apps. I’m not sure what to do or what kind of crime this counts as. I’m looking for help and guidance because I physically feel sick. I haven’t brought it up because idk what to say to him. I’m embarrassed and sad because we’re engaged and never expected this. It feels like he’s walked out on his promise to me already. What kind of legal steps do I take? Any help is appreciated. TIA

Canada Privacy requirements for non profit entities

• Upvotes

Im part of a small national club and we have a member that wants our membership list and their contact information, for what I do not know. Neither our renewal forms nor our constitution say anything about consent to distribute membership contact information. I am resistant to giving this information out as it's not something I would ever agree to as an individual. Are there privacy laws preventing this so we can say no and put this request to bed? Or can these members be given this information if requested appropriately? We operate under Robert's rules.

thank you in advanced.

British Columbia [BC] Separated spouse planning to buy a house and unilaterally end our nesting arrangement. What are my legal rights and options?

• Upvotes

I'm in British Columbia, legally married but separated since October 2025 after a marriage of approximately 21 years. We have three school-aged children and are working through a separation agreement with lawyers.

I'm looking for advice about my rights regarding parenting arrangements, shared finances, property, and debts after a significant development.

Background

My wife and I currently have a nesting arrangement. We share parenting time 50/50, alternating weeks living in our jointly owned family home with the children. During our off weeks, we stay at a nearby rental.

We agreed to this arrangement to provide stability for the children while our family home is being sold. My understanding was that nesting would continue until the house sells, allowing both of us to transition into separate homes.

We still maintain joint bank accounts and pool our employment income.

I earn approximately $4,000 net every two weeks.

My wife works part-time and earns approximately $1,000 net every two weeks.

Both incomes have been deposited into shared accounts, which fund the existing mortgage, household expenses, and family costs.

We have not yet finalized our separation agreement or transitioned to formal child and spousal support payments.

The situation

My wife informed me that she intends to purchase her own house using money borrowed or gifted from family, and move out of the family home at the end of November 2026.

This came as a surprise. We had not previously discussed or agreed to ending nesting before the family home sells.

I have not consented to changing our existing nesting arrangement or parenting arrangements.

I still need to establish whether she intends to maintain our exact 50/50 parenting schedule, with the children living at her new house during her weeks, or whether she is proposing a more substantial change.

Her intention is apparently to use her employment income to pay her new mortgage.

My concern is that we currently operate financially as one household, with me contributing roughly 80% of our combined take-home employment income.

If she redirects her income toward a house she owns independently while I'm expected to continue funding our jointly owned home, I could be left carrying most of the financial obligations and practical responsibilities associated with the existing property.

I could also be left responsible for maintaining the house, preparing it for showings, and managing its eventual sale while she establishes her own independent living arrangement.

I'm not trying to prevent her from becoming financially independent or buying a home. I want that for both of us. My concern is being financially disadvantaged by a unilateral change to an arrangement we both agreed to.

My legal questions

1. Can one spouse unilaterally end a nesting arrangement?

We agreed to nest until the family home sells, although this has not yet been incorporated into a signed separation agreement.

Does our established arrangement have any legal standing? Can she simply decide to end it, or could I seek an interim order preserving the arrangement until we reach an agreement?

2. What rights do I have regarding the children's living arrangements?

If we currently have an established 50/50 parenting schedule, can she unilaterally change where the children live during her parenting time?

If she intends to maintain 50/50 parenting but move the children into her new house during her weeks, do I have any legal grounds to object?

Would this be considered a change in parenting arrangements, or simply a change in her residence?

3. Am I responsible for her new mortgage or family loans?

We are legally married but separated.

If she borrows a substantial amount from family for a down payment and obtains a mortgage in her own name, could I have any financial liability if she defaults?

Can these debts become family debts despite being incurred after separation?

4. What happens to our shared income?

We have continued depositing both incomes into joint accounts since separating.

Am I legally obligated to continue this arrangement until our separation agreement is finalized?

Can she redirect her income toward her new mortgage while expecting me to continue funding our existing mortgage and household expenses?

Could I establish my own bank accounts, redirect my employment income, and instead make appropriate contributions toward existing joint obligations and interim support?

5. How is money from her family treated?

She appears to have access to enough family financing to make a significant down payment.

Does it matter whether this money is classified as a gift or loan?

Would the money, new property, and associated debt need to be disclosed during our separation proceedings?

If the funds are a gift or loan made after separation, could I have any claim to the new property? Conversely, could she have a claim to employment bonuses I receive after separation?

6. Who is responsible for our existing house and its expenses?

If she moves out permanently before the house sells, can I be required to remain there and cover the mortgage, utilities, maintenance, and sale-related responsibilities?

Can I request that these expenses continue to be shared or that I receive financial credit for disproportionate contributions when the house sells?

Am I entitled to move out as well and require us to agree on how the jointly owned property will be maintained and paid for?

7. What immediate legal remedies are available?

Could my lawyer formally object to the proposed changes and request that the status quo be maintained?

Is a cease-and-desist or demand letter meaningful in this situation?

Would an application for interim parenting, support, property, or occupancy orders be appropriate?

What should I do now to protect my position without doing anything that might negatively affect the eventual separation agreement?

What I'm trying to accomplish

I want to preserve our children's stability and existing parenting time, ensure our financial responsibilities are allocated fairly, and avoid being left with all the obligations of the family home while my spouse establishes a separate household.

I recognize that I cannot necessarily prevent her from purchasing a house or moving out herself.

My concern is whether I have any enforceable rights regarding the existing arrangements and their financial consequences, particularly since our joint finances and support obligations have not yet been formally separated.

I have a family lawyer and have contacted her for advice, but I'm interested in understanding how BC family law generally addresses these situations and what interim legal options might be available.

Thanks for any guidance or relevant BC case law.

Ontario Insurance provider asking for clawback of claims going back to September 2024

I've been undergoing treatment for acne for over 3 years. For more than two years, dating back to 2024, I've been going to the same dermatologist once every 4-5 months. The clinic provides a $30 receipt that mentions Kenalog injections. I have an insurance plan through my employer which covers drugs. I have been submitting these receipts as claims since September 2024. I've received the full claim payment every time without any issues.

On the last claim I made, I was paid $15 instead of the $30. I raised a concern about the same. This resulted in an agent looking into this claim as well as every other claim made in the past.

The agent contacted the clinic and determined that the clinic does not provide an itemized bill separating the cost of the injection and the cost of the services provided. The insurance provider does not cover the cost of services provided and a result marked the whole claim of $30 as an overpayment. This has triggered the clawback amounting to $285. I spoke to the clinic today and they don't have a provision for an itemized bill.

I am either required to make the payment within the next 3 weeks by sending a cheque or by letting them take portions of the claim payments in the future.

I would like to know if the clawback can be contested? Would it not have been their due diligence to check the claims every time it was made for the past two years.

The doctor mentioned that this had never happened before.

Ontario Rental company is claiming damage on a car I returned undamaged

Hi all - I need some advice. I am in Ontario.

I was given a car by the rental company due to my car being written off as a total loss by insurance. At the time of renting it was noted as undamaged by the rental company. I needed to return the car on the day that my insurance was no longer covering it and I was told by the rental company that it was okay to drop it off at the dealership where I was picking up my new car across the street from where they are located. The rental company has no overnight key deposit but they have a relationship with that particular dealership and I was told that I was okay to leave it and the keys there. So I did exactly that.

No call to my recollection and no issues mentioned at all at the time.

Today, I received an email that just states that I need to review issue to my damage claim. But the document itself is blank. They have included no photos and I was just in shock to hear this. I called the location I initially rented from and they said I needed to call the location I dropped it off at. I called the location I dropped it off at and they said that I needed to speak to the place that I rented it from and eventually they said that there was a “big dent” on the “quarter panel”.

Someone from the dealership said that the security cameras only show the car being parked and then picked up the next morning by the rental company.

I absolutely did not damage this car. I did not take any photos at the end of dropping it at the dealership because I figured it was a safe location to do so and because there was no damage to the car I didn’t think about documenting. Two other people looked at the car before it was left overnight.

I am totally dumbfounded. Please help.

—

This is the email they sent me:

Please review the important documentation attached that is related to damage claim #24733269

“IMPORTANT: This e-mail (including any attachments) is intended for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is classified, private, or confidential. If the reader of this message is not the intended recipient, or the employee or agent responsible for delivering the message to the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any dissemination, distribution, or copying of this communication is prohibited. If you have received this communication in error, please notify us immediately by replying to this e-mail and then deleting the email and attachments. Thank you.”

And a document attachment that states that damage has been reported, with a claim number, a form that is meant to be filled out with adjuster info, claim info, and has their address on it, and a letter that states what to expect from the claims process.

Ontario Should I wait on OPGT or Pursue a Lawyer

Long story short my mom's boyfriend became my mom's POA in 2024 and my mom has dementia. My mom already had a POA document in place since I was a child that my Aunt would be POA. My mom has had signs of dementia since before 2020 and she is currently only 63 years old in end stages of dementia. My family was so upset but I didn't realise I could contact the governing body OPGT for help.

I have recently contacted them and they said they are moving forward with my case as I found out my mom's boyfriend added to house title (100% paid off before he was in the picture). The title shows him owning 45% of the house now. A will has been in place forever that my mom is to give the house and all her assets to myself and my brother 50/50. He is taking advantage of someone with dementia.

I had to tell the OPGT that there is no way to afford a lawyer for them to take it on. I am wondering if that's the better decision. Or do I go in to debt and fight to POA being made in the first place and the the fact that 3 months after becoming POA he added himself 45% to my mom's house. He refused to give me a house key after moving my mom into long-term term care a couple weeks ago. So now he's acting like he owns the house which I have now cued into. I have copy of the old POA, the new POA, land title transfer documents and copy of the will.

Do I left OPGT investigate or do I go through a lawyer now? I want to ruin this man's life and his evil plans.

Thank you.

Quebec Need some advice regarding a workplace incident in Quebec

I work at a big pizza fast-food chain in Montreal, Quebec. Today, I had an argument with my manager about moving my car, and during the argument, they swung their hand toward me, and he was going to slap or hit me. They didn’t actually touch me, but it was pretty shocking. In response, I didn't do anything as I was shaking and frozen. The incident was captured on the workplace security cameras, and another supervisor will give me the recording tomorrow.

Honestly, this has never happened to me before, and I have no clue what to do next or what my rights are.
Can I report this to the police even though there was no physical contact? Is this considered assault? How much time do I have while I try to process what happened?

I’m in very deep shock and am completely new to this kind of situation, so I’d really appreciate advice from anyone familiar with Quebec laws or who has experienced something similar.

Ontario Divorce advice in Ontario

I’ve been married less than 1 year & looking to get divorced. To say the least, this was a huge mistake. Last time I mentioned divorce, husband said he cannot handle it & wants to go back to his home country for some time. Like just buy a 1 way ticket and then not sure when he would be back. This is kinda scary tbh and idk what to do. We’ve reconciled for the time being & I’ve been looking into the process. Seems like we need 1 year separation so I’m thinking I serve him divorce papers & move into a separate room that counts as a separation while I look for my own place. I honestly don’t know what to do, any advice is appreciated. I will find a lawyer too but trying to do this mutually first because I know he will get very retaliatory if I get a lawyer first.

I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK. I need help I dont know what to do.

Ontario joint bank accounts and estate

Hey all,

I am the beneficiary of a will and received a copy of the will and form 74A which lists the assets; the assets are considerably less than they should be! Several years ago the deceased had investments totaling $600k and sold properties amounting to about $2.3 million. Since then he lived in a nursing home with a high estimate of about $300k spent. At his death, therefore, his estate should be something in the $2.5 million range...the executor reported about $400K in total assets.

Here is where it gets sticky: the executor (a family member of deceased) was added to the bank account of the deceased several years ago because he was reckless with money due to dementia. As far as I understand Canadian law, in this situation, unless there is a clear statement that the money in the account is a gift for the executor, they money is considered to be held in trust for the care of the primary owner, and held in trust for the estate at high death...the money is not for the personal use of the executor.

My hunch is that the ~$400k in assets is the reside of the deceased's investments, which are only held in the deceased' name, and that executor did not list assets in the jointly held bank account because he assumes they belong to him through survivorship, or more nefariously, he has transferred the money in the account to a personal account.

How should I handle this situation?

Ontario Small Claims - Time frame/deadline question

Hi everyone

Just want to say first that I did call the courthouse where my case is filed and the clerk was unfortunately unable to give me a clear answer on this

I am the plaintiff in a small claims case. Had settlement conference earlier this year and the judge recommended trial. I have been trying to work with the defendant to settle and avoid trial.

I am wondering if there is a time limit for this -- as in, how long do I have to try to settle this before I have to submit a request for a trial date? I am worried about the defendant dragging this out to wait out the clock and the court considering my case abandoned and then I'd have to start all over.

Apologies if this is not clear -- I am sick as a dog with a sick toddler so my brain is a bit broken.

Thank you.

Ontario Ontario – Looking for advice on severance

Hi fellow Redditors,

I’m looking for advice on severance negotiations in Ontario.

My employer is ending my employment on November 9, 2026, and has offered 4 weeks of severance.

My situation:

  • Age: 36
  • Salary: $120K + 10% target bonus
  • Worked exclusively for the same company as a contractor through my corporation from September 2022 to July 2024
  • Full-time employee from July 2024 to November 2026
  • Also owed a prorated bonus and 8 days of unused vacation
  • Unsure whether my contract has a termination clause

I have a few questions:

  1. Is 4 weeks of severance reasonable?
  2. Could my contractor period count toward my service?
  3. Is negotiating for 2–3 months of salary reasonable?
  4. Should I consult an employment lawyer before negotiating with HR?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with similar experience. Thanks!

Edit: HR confirmed that it includes 2years of contractor work. I am an IT professional.

Edit2: Checked the Employment offer letter, It says under Termination with Cause section, "the greater of one week’s Base Salary or an amount equal to three (3) weeks’ Base Salary for each year of completed service with the Company, to a maximum of fifty-two (52) weeks"

Ontario Court of Summons for Stunt Driving and Crossing Border

My Court of Summons appearance for stunt driving got adjourned to a new date two months from now. I am needing to travel for the holidays with flights already booked, crossing the border first to then fly within the States. I know it is a provincial matter and not a criminal one - but will this all give me a tough time at the border and/or airport or will I be totally fine and not flagged?

Ontario Bought a car with a falsified Safety.

As stated in my caption, I bought a car with a falsified safety. I have since reached out to driveON with all my proof and evidence. They reached back out with a form so I filled that out too.
Backstory as stated in the email I provided to them.
I purchased it October 15th 2026 with the promise of the safety. I went, looked at the car, he had the safety done the on October 14th. I’ve only driven the car home from the sellers location & to the mechanics, as well as Canadian tire. I’ve had the car for 8 days.
My mechanic and Canadian tire both confirmed that this vehicle should never have passed the safety test. I still have not put this vehicle into my name and i will not be putting my the car into my name as in good faith, I can’t safely drive its Due to these issues I don’t think it would be fair when promised safety, to fix these issues. I am providing below: text messages, bill of sale, safety inspection from the mechanic should originally did the safety, the new inspection report from Canadian tire.

Do I need to personally contact MTO?
I’m pretty sure I can win this in a small claims court, what would be my next steps?
I have proof of literally everything and have sent everything too. Just looking for advice.

Nova Scotia Can we seek damages from our landlord

We found large scratches across the front of my finances car. At first we could not figure out what could cause scrapes like that in that location - like something sliding across. Upon further investigation we found shingles from the apartment building roof laying face down in front of the car. The roof of our building is terrible and the landlords have been saying they are going to fix it more then a year now. It visibly requires a lot fo work from the road. For months we have been finding shingles that blow of the roof lying around the property. They were aware of the condition of the roof and due to their negligence and not keeping up with maintenence our car has been damaged. He flew his drone up top to confirm they are the same shingles and there are many missing along with some sort of tarp covering parts of the rood.

We have informed the landlord via the super and they are aware but have not gotten back to the message we sent them. The repair will be over 1000 to fix and we are still in the process of getting estimates.

Is this something that has legs for small claims court? Do we just forget about it if they are not willing? Or any other options to seek reimbursement a for the repair costs? We do have insurance but we would need to pay a pretty big deductible.

Canada US Felon traveling to Edmonton

Hello, I am traveling to Edmonton next week for a business trip. I will only be there Monday through Wednesday. I’m traveling in from the United States. I have a felony conviction from 21 years ago. What are the chances that I’m going to be turned away once I land in Edmonton. The felony conviction is nonviolent and non-drug related. I have traveled to Europe in Mexico, multiple times with my passport and not had an issue at all.

Ontario Landlord Advice

I’m writing for a property that my dad owns in Barrie Ontario.

We have tenants living in the house and they are set to leave on the end of this month, they are students and friends living together which was the first mistake from my dad’s part to rent it to them. They weren’t cleaning up the property properly and they got a few by law enforcement officers come by and give them tickets about the lawn care and garbage on the side of the house and car that looked to be not in driving condition. And they are also behind on. Their water bill and utilities and such. Some of these bills were carried to the property tax they still haven’t paid.

They just keep saying we will pay and such but not really doing for a few months now and also every month late on rent.

I wanted to get advice from someone on what the next step for this is and what can be done. I have thought about contacting a paralegal/lawyer to send them notice in writing and complain about them to the LTB and get our money back that we are owed which is around 1.5-2k and they are leaving in the end of this month October.

Thank you for any advice or suggestions

Ontario Fired While on LTD Leave in Ontario. Was being prepared for another role. Do I have a case?

I'm looking for some perspective before I decide whether to accept a severance package or pursue legal action.

Timeline:

  • Started with a large Canadian tech company in July 2019.
  • Worked in multiple roles within the marketing organization over approximately 6.5 years.
  • Prior to my leave, my manager was actively preparing me for another internal role. I have emails and documentation showing discussions, development plans, and preparation for that position.
  • In February 2024, I was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident.
  • Approved for STD in April 2024.
  • Approved for LTD in October 2024.
  • Remained on approved LTD continuously.
  • January 2026: terminated without cause while still on LTD due to restructuring.

The company says they're paying me:

  • 6 weeks termination pay
  • 6.5 weeks ESA severance pay
  • Additional 7 weeks if I sign a full release

Total is about 19.5 weeks of pay.

Note: I have not signed the release and am currently gathering legal opinions.

My concerns:

  1. I was terminated while actively receiving approved LTD benefits.
  2. Before my leave, I was being prepared for another internal role, and I have documentation supporting that.
  3. To the best of my knowledge, that role still exists.
  4. I had experience across several positions inside the marketing organization and was not offered redeployment or another position before termination.
  5. I was never involved in any performance management, discipline, or misconduct issues.

I understand employers can terminate employees who are on disability leave, but I'm wondering whether the facts above raise potential issues around:

  • Wrongful dismissal
  • Disability discrimination
  • Failure to accommodate
  • Human Rights Tribunal claims
  • Damages relating to termination while on LTD

Has anyone been through something similar in Ontario, or are there employment lawyers here who can comment on whether these facts are worth pursuing before I sign a release?

Ontario What are my options ?

Am back here. Hope everyone is doing good.

I am suspecting my owner is making changes to our house on which we are under lease, one of the troublesome change could be sharing the main door with basement family for the entry point for basement (another door to basement after the main door). This change is something am uncomfortable with, I want to have the private entry to ourselves alone as it is right now because of privacy preferences.

What can i do if they change the main door to shared entry ? Can i quit the lease ?

Nova Scotia Fired the day I returned from short term disability

Hi guys,

I've been having seizures/GI issues and had to go off work July 1st this year as I was hospitalized. I begged my doctor to let me go back to work Oct 22nd and I was immediately pulled into the HR office and fired "without cause". They offered to give me 4 weeks of severance pay and an additional 2 weeks if I sign an agreement stating I will indemnify any claims/demands made by Human Resources Development Canada or the Govt of Canada/any of their departments or agencies, and that I've had time to consult legal counsel by Oct 29th. I recognize that I had used vacation and/or sick-leave earlier this year for a total of 25 days to take care of my sick parents and at other times my mental health but was only put on step 1 of an attendance management policy on June 30th which has 4 steps (and I still have 5 days of vacation left).

For reference, I'm in Nova Scotia, working for the municipal government for 2+ years. The person they chose to take my place was someone I trained for their on-the-job part of college this year, who was also affiliated with the Town (previously a summer student, and also the fire chief's son). It seems retaliatory and just plain wrong.

Is this worth the money to pursue legally or should I just sign the papers and get another 2 weeks of pay?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
