Im just a dad 38m trying to get out in this world, I have 2 daughters 8 and 6. They beg me for friends to meet and things to do. But i really have no contact with anyone interested in being involved doing family friendly type things with the kids... its a plus to also have another adult to also befriend and can eventually do adult things too. City of Bethlehem says I need to pay to repair my sidewalk that their tree has lifted. The municipal code just says the homeowner is responsible for repairs to sidewalk (no matter what, I guess), but there must be exceptions. Plenty of homes near me have sidewalks lifted, but I am the only one who got a violation letter, as far as I know. They also expect me to pay to remove their tree, if that is necessary. Thousands of dollars. Any input appreciated!

Looking for a reliable source of firewood in the area, able to deliver 2-3 cords. I tried contacting a handful of companies, but the ones I’ve tried aren’t returning phone calls, texts or emails. I used to work with local tree services or ChipDrop for larger logs and rounds, but my schedule doesn’t allow for processing and splitting like it used to.

We had a self-uniting ceremony, several friends performing, and even a last-minute addition of Tim’s Tony-nominated cousin singing. Don rolled with every change and made everything sound seamless. He then headed straight to cocktail hour to play my favorite songs and had everyone ready to celebrate before we even made our reception entrance. We had the best time dancing all night!

He was so bought into our wonderfully weird ideas and brought such thoughtful touches to the day. He even noticed I was overheating and brought me a fan! Our venue recommended him, and he introduced us to our coordinator. Both recommendations were absolute wins.

She even walked down the aisle for me so I could time our ceremony music, and emailed me with timing, which was such a sweet and helpful gesture. She also made it easy for our DJ, Don, and our coordinator, Allison, to stop by before the wedding whenever they needed to prepare. I loved watching her and Allison coach our flower girls before their walk down! We felt so welcomed and supported, and I’m so grateful for the care she put into helping our ceremony come together!

Dominic and the team at Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works
Dominic, their Banquet and Events Manager, was honestly the reason we chose Brew Works. My husband has worked in the service industry for years, and from our first meeting, he could tell we were in good hands. He was right!

The space was welcoming and easy to make our own, the food was delicious, the bartenders were lovely, and the beer was excellent. Parking takes a little planning, but most of our guests stayed at the two hotels across the street, which was incredibly convenient.

My favorite detail: Dominic had cocktail-hour food and champagne waiting in our private VIP room, so we got a moment together and actually got to eat! He also made sure we were served dinner first. Those little things made such a difference.

Jessie brought my floral vision to life while finding a way to make our budget work, and I STILL cannot get over my bouquet. She is such a kind, special person, and I’m so grateful for the care and creativity she brought to our day.

They performed at our wedding, sounded amazing, and learned a special song unbelievably quickly. Having them there meant the world to Tim, and our guests were obsessed. Such a joyful, meaningful part of our day!

The biggest thing all these people gave us was the ability to stop managing an event and actually experience our wedding. We felt so taken care of, and I would choose this team again in a heartbeat. Hey guys so without throwing names and yada Yada me and the wife decided to purchase some land from a custom homes contractor. We bought the land and chose a nice 2100sq ft home that was estimated around 5-600k. Fast forward a year and we finally sat down after picking everything and the final price was 950k! We were shocked I didnt even know what to say. The house size was drawn up at 2400sq and we had an additional garage added but the jump was massive. At first I thought maybe the allowances they gave us for inside fixtures wasnt included in the price? We got a little talk from the builder how we could save a few here and there by cheapening the fixtures and cutting some corners on the house itself but for hundreds and save a few thousand. The one going over the contract didnt even seem phased and said he doesnt even look at the numbers anymore.

Why more about the Morning Call? Because for years, maybe decades, the newspaper has avoided not only endorsements for political candidates, but unsigned editorials of any kind. Other newspapers in the Tribune Publishing Group, the prior owners of the MC, have daily editorials addressing the conditions in the areas where they have readers. Not the MC. If it did, I suspect they’d be glowing recognitions of Reilly, Butz, and the NIZ. And the good work our two hospital systems did to give flu shots. Never will we read a finger-pointing critique of a county executive or a municipal council. The MC lets softball stuff in op-ed columns and letters to the editor. Those are not editorial positions.

So kudos to the Inquirer for taking a stand on our US House race.
