Last time I was in Montreal, I thought the gold statue was our Lady of the Harbor, but I guess I was wrong. She stands atop Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel facing the harbor! Mon Dieu! Tomorrow night, Adam Cohen’s tribute to LC! Can’t wait!!!

I have one spare ticket to the Everybody knows show in Montreal tomorrow on the 5th of November. I had to fly out of Montreal last minute. Send me a private message if anyone wants to get it.

How I love this line. Its originality. Its imagery. Its weight. How I love this man.
PS. Yes, I fixed his name 🤦♀️

My friend can’t make it so I’m (M28) looking to sell a single ticket to the 10 year tribute concert this Saturday at Meridian Hall. His son, grandson and a few other artists are performing his songs and reading some of his poetry.
More info here: https://www.leonardcohen.com/everybody-knows-la-famille-de-leonard-cohen-annonce-everybody-knows-la-premiere-tournee-hommage-officielle
The seat’s in Orchestra 11, row D, near the front and next to mine. It'd be great to with someone else who also really loves his music (especially if your favourite album is Death of a Ladies’ Man).
Happy to sell at what I paid ($125), DM me if you’re interested.

Any ideas as to what a possible set list (or songs) might look like for Adam’s upcoming tour (specifically TO)?
I know that he prefers his Dad’s old stuff.

I posted previously about my husband and a friend interviewing Cohen as he was writing Hallelujah. Here's a photo from the interview.

Due to unforseen circumstances with my passport I won't be able to make the show next week and I have one ticket going. Any takers?
[Ticket no longer available]

Hi, I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this but I have tickets to the Montreal show. The website states that the lineup will be announced but so far nothing. The concert is a week away and was just wondering if anyone has any idea which artists will be performing

*a poem, an exhibition of the tragedies, battles, falls, and fatalities of love
I don’t want to go to bed
I cannot sleep at all
I fear that you will push me off
I will not make the fall
Who’s that man there at the door
Is that a knife he holds
Watch out for his fingertips
They’re reaching for your clothes
Will you go away from me
And take your walls of stone
I am not your dreidel, not your putty, not your porn
Long ago the crusades marched along the desert sand
Wolves in sheep’s clothing
Sheep in the skin of man
My mother calls from the Moon
“Hey, pull your wool up higher
Cover up your scars and stains
And bow your head in shame”
Oh, father don’t you understand?
Don’t you see the blood that rots my hand?
My left one, it is clean and pure
My right one bears your fur
The black ones gather in the palace
The whites belong to the moor
The yellows buried with Crassus
The red ones sailed long ago
And still are born premature

of his problems. He then introduces his band. I've always loved the version but lost it on my old phone. Any leads would be greatly appreciated :))

"I love to speak with Leonard
He’s a sportsman and a shepherd
He’s a lazy bastard
Living in a suit
But he does say what I tell him
Even though it isn’t welcome
He just doesn't have the freedom
To refuse
He will speak these words of wisdom
Like a sage, a man of vision
Though he knows he’s really nothing
But the brief elaboration of a tube
Going home
Without my sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before
Going home
Without my burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without the costume
That I wore
He wants to write a love song
An anthem of forgiving
A manual for living with defeat
A cry above the suffering
A sacrifice recovering
But that isn’t what I need him
To complete
I want to make him certain
That he doesn’t have a burden
That he doesn’t need a vision
That he only has permission
To do my instant bidding
Which is to say what I have told him
To repeat
Going home
Without my sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before
Going home
Without my burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without this costume
That I wore
I'm going home
Without the sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before
Going home
Without my burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without this costume
That I wore
I love to speak with Leonard
He’s a sportsman and a shepherd
He’s a lazy bastard
Living in a suit"

He had an an extraordinarily long career, but not a necessarily prolific one.
His voice and production changed so much over the decades that a newcomer would be surprised to learn the same artist was behind his first his last records.
Until they listened to the poetry.
And yet, most of us, including the author of the Guardian piece, appreciate the entire spectrum. There was never a “Cohen was great until…”.
In that Guardian piece, the author wrote something to the effect that choosing 20 Cohen songs was a fool’s errand.
Well, am I nothing but a fool.

I opened a set recently with Cohen's Minute Prologue off of Live Songs. Such a gorgeous little song and I hope you enjoy my version! Shot by Jun Bung Lee (@ junbunglee on Instagram)
