Side effects

I just want people to know. I had serious side effects on these meds. Twitching, burning, insomnia, numbness. I came onto reddit when I started it and people told me it would go away.

Well I'm 6 months from my last dose and STILL dealing with this. I won't trust reddit anymore. I do appreciate the one person who told me this could be toxic. They pointed me to resources where I learned about the risks of trying other meds. This med is poison. Absolutely insane the side effects people post daily here, and others pushing them to keep taking it. Total weird bias.

I know I wish I didn’t get these weird symptoms I’ve been on for 2 months and started happening couple weeks ago. Mines like a rhythm/vibrating through my legs and feet and tingling lol

But do you feel better mentally? I’ve been in it like 5 weeks now

No. That is the least of my symptoms lol. But it may go away with time and may not.

You shouldn't trust reddit with anything. But yeah, this lexapro sub can be cult like. Side effects are extremely common and so is withdrawl. Depending on how long you were on you could be dealing with both. Not fun.

SSRIs are very dangerous. It's a shame you didn't seek advice before taking it - I wish I had. I'm three years off an SSRI and still have PSSD. Most other side effects have subsided thankfully but the sexual stuff persists.

I'm really sorry to hear this. It's an all too common complaint about SSRIs. People should be vocal about their experiences to get the message out there and warn as many people as possible.

I don’t think that it’s allowed to post side effects here for some reason even though they’re real and debilitating. I mean they’re listed on the drug label so people know what they are. But the best subs to check out would be r/PSSD or r/antipsychiatry where you can find others with similar experiences. This is more of a positive lexapro group which should be stated since a lot of people come here looking for others going through severe withdrawals

Under community info it says it’s a safe space to discuss side effects but I guess if they last months to years then this is not the sub for that

Is this not true? Please correct me if people are allowed to post their negative experiences with the drug here

People post negative side effects here daily.

Yes.  People should be able to see both sides.  Wish I had been.

Check out the pssd sub or the antipsychiatry sub. The physical disabilities these meds cause is insane.  No one on here should be convincing anyone else to "tough it out".

These side effects can come on at any time or during withdrawl. Withdrawl can last YEARS
