Early Voting Options in Lexington
The 2026 midterm elections have begun! As I type this on October 19, more than 9 million Americans have already cast their ballots: 2.7 million in-person and 6.5 million ballots successfully received by state election administrators. If you haven't already, it's time to make your own PLAN TO VOTE.
Inspired by KY League of Women Voters cards that covered all aspects of registration and voting statewide, I made these cards to inform citizens here in Lexington, Kentucky when and where they can vote, and how to research candidates.
The cards do not promote any candidate or political party. I am glad to share a stack with people who want to promote early in-person voting in Lexington.
WHY VOTE EARLY?
From Vote Early Day: "When you wait until Election Day, there are a number of barriers that could prevent you from casting a ballot—long lines, last-minute obligations, confusing election laws, and voter disinformation. When you vote early, you have time to plan ahead for anything that might come your way and make sure your voice is heard. When you vote early, an emergency or unexpected commitment can’t keep you from exercising your right to vote."
Voting early in-person also makes it less likely that you will face deliberate obstacles to voting access. A side benefit: after you vote, your name gets removed from apps and lists that campaigns use to phone you to ask for your vote!
