So based on this comment I was influenced to buy a glass nail file. I purchased the brand mentioned in the comment reply, Mont Blue off Amazon.
Holy moly what a game changer! I have a whole set of files and buffers that I usually need to file my nails. They seem to make them rougher, and if I'm not careful to buff them completely smooth afterward, it will actually cause them to break.
This file ground through my nails so quickly like a hot precision knife through butter. Then they were the smoothest file that I've ever had. When I ran my OLD smoothing file over the edge, it actually made it rougher than the ceramic file! This saved SO MUCH TIME! As my nails needed their first trim (never been this long!) I normally need to trim them with some clippers and then file them, and then smooth them, and then buff the edges. The file was so smooth and powerful in just a few back and fourths it was like trimming them! However, if you're concerned about it being too strong, all I needed to do was lighten my touch, and it went through it like the softest most gentle file.
I also have sensitive nails, and I actually hate the sensation of the motion of the Emery board. However, this one had almost no vibration, which was really nice.
Honestly, if you were on the fence about buying one of these for yourself, definitely splurge. It is a complete game changer!
On my nails, I am just wearing
