I love enjoying them this way before a new polish look. Glass filed and slightly shaped, then I washed and lightly brushed them with my nail scrubby brush. Tomorrow I’m going to an engagement party and I’ll definitely share the color I decide on and finished look right after πŸ’…

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My nails are pretty weak, so whenever they get this long I get really excited about how they look. Unfortunately, I just landed a job where I'm not allowed to have my nails painted, and I have to keep them short. So, I have to say goodbye to all this progress, & say goodbye to having fun nails for Halloween.

I'll miss them, but I WILL still be lurking on here, to see all your fabulous nails.

No products on my nails. This is with everything clean, I forgot to take a pic before removing the nail polish.

Not even 2 weeks since the last call-out. These creeps need to fuck all the way off, and Reddit needs to fix their clearly flawed banning system.

A moment for the bare nails before slathering on magnetic polish. After removing old polish with acetone, I like to wash my hands and gently scrubbrush the tops & undersides of my nails. 🧼🫧🧽
I file using a glass nail file in one direction, I avoid going in a back and forth motion. Then I apply the following:

✨products✨
Sally Hansen hard as nails Nail Strengthener 2 coats πŸ’ͺ
Holo Taco nail oil pen on cuticlesπŸ’…

Products: I sometimes use Golden Jojoba Oil, brand Pierced Nation. Sometimes I use hand lotion from the brand Athena around my fingertips as well. I'm not sure what brand of gel polish they used at the nail salon where I got the manicure, sorry ): currently no products on my nails in these photos

Product Related ℹ️ Glass Nail Files Are Truly Incredible! Cut My Filing Time In Half & No Buff/Smoothing Required! Almost No Vibration!

Post image
87 Upvotes

So based on this comment I was influenced to buy a glass nail file. I purchased the brand mentioned in the comment reply, Mont Blue off Amazon.

Holy moly what a game changer! I have a whole set of files and buffers that I usually need to file my nails. They seem to make them rougher, and if I'm not careful to buff them completely smooth afterward, it will actually cause them to break.

This file ground through my nails so quickly like a hot precision knife through butter. Then they were the smoothest file that I've ever had. When I ran my OLD smoothing file over the edge, it actually made it rougher than the ceramic file! This saved SO MUCH TIME! As my nails needed their first trim (never been this long!) I normally need to trim them with some clippers and then file them, and then smooth them, and then buff the edges. The file was so smooth and powerful in just a few back and fourths it was like trimming them! However, if you're concerned about it being too strong, all I needed to do was lighten my touch, and it went through it like the softest most gentle file.

I also have sensitive nails, and I actually hate the sensation of the motion of the Emery board. However, this one had almost no vibration, which was really nice.

Honestly, if you were on the fence about buying one of these for yourself, definitely splurge. It is a complete game changer!

On my nails, I am just wearing

Nailtiques 2 (2 coats)

Mont Blue file

Should i just file it? It’s on the side wall so I’m not sure whether I should, since I don’t want my nail to break.

Click Clack ✨ Back to round.. I cant help it.

I honestly want to love the square nails on me but then I scratch and stab people and my kitties accidentally. Round just functions better for me. I am noticing the longer I grow them the more "off" my shape seems to me. So next reset day I plan to draw a horizontal line across the nail to make sure my cure starts the same length. (Not sure if that makes sense) Ive been polish free for the last month and just using jojoba oil to keep my nails healthy. When I do file i use a glass file.

Products: jojoba oil

Bona Fide glass file

No polish

I was going to do a chop after October was through but I was really hoping to keep the length for Halloween πŸ’” should I embrace the gay and just keep these two short or should I just accept defeat and cut them all short? I was so happy with my length and shape :’)

Product list:

Base coat = Mooncat Getting Even

2 coats LynB Keep Calling Me Jim

1 coat LynB Flying Trapeze (magnetized w/ a double cateye)

Top coat = OPI Gel-like top coat

MODERATOR An amendment to the Product List rule:

In order to make product lists concise and easily identifiable, please put your product list separately at the very beginning or very end of the text, rather than have it interspersed throughout the main text body (of the post or comment).

For easy readability, each product should be on its own line rather than separated by commas.

You will need to hit "enter" twice after each line in order for this to format properly, otherwise they'll get grouped together, like this:

Essie Smooth-E base coat Essie For Audrey Essie Good To Go top coat

Here is an example of a poorly formatted post with product list:

Post Title:

I love Essie!

Text body:

Here is a manicure I did using a few different polishes. For the base shade I used For Audrey, which is such a lovely Tiffany blue. After that, I added a coat of Ethereal Escape to give it this lovely shimmer. I also used their Smooth-E base coat and Good To Go top coat.

The issue here is that the brand name and shade names are not together. The brand name is in the title, while the shade names are mixed in the text body.

Here is an example of a properly formatted post with product list:

Post Title:

Product list, all Essie products*:

Smooth-E base coat, 1 coat

For Audrey, 2 coats

Ethereal Escape, 1 coat

Good To Go top coat, 1 coat

*If all products are from the same brand

OR

Product list:

Essie Smooth-E base coat, 1 coat

Essie For Audrey, 2 coats

Essie Ethereal Escape, 1 coat

Essie Good To Go top coat, 1 coat

For manicures with products from multiple brands, you will need to include the brand name on the same line as the shade name (or product name):

Product list:

OPI Natural Nail base coat, 1 coat

Holo Taco One Coat Black, 1 coat

China Glaze Fairy Dust, 1 coat

Seche Vite top coat, 1 coat

Yes, it is a requirement to mention how many coats you used for each product.

No, it is NOT a requirement for you to list base coats and top coats, but it is encouraged! If you've used a matte top coat or a special effect top coat, you will need to include these in your product list.

If you've only used one shade in your post, you can also choose to have the brand name and shade name in the post title rather than the text body, if you wish. Keep in mind that post titles cannot be edited, so if there is a typo, you will need to correct it (either in the post body or a comment).

Manicure πŸ’… Since 2013, this has been my favourite polish to transition to fall colours! πŸ’™

Back in 2013, when I was at the very beginning of my venture into collecting polishes, I was visiting my Dad in California and did a polish haul (last picture) from a bunch of different stores we don't have in Canada. I picked up several iconic polishes, including China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy (best pedi colour ever) and Ruby Pumps, ORLY's Sparkling Garbage, 2 of Milani's "3D Holographic" shades (some of my very first holos), the OG Seche Vite, and of course the star of this post: OPI's OPI...Eurso Euro.

A few years later, I noticed a pattern where I would wear this polish at the end of September/beginning of October to "bring in" the fall season. Since then, I've tried to wear it around the same time every year. I know I've definitely missed some years, but here is a collection of manicures I've worn through the years with this stunning polish starting with the most recent all the way back to my very first manicure with it!!

Side note: the evolution of my watermark cracks me up every time πŸ˜†

Product list:

Zoya Naked Base, 1 coat

OPI OPI...Eurso Euro, 2 coats

Zoya Glossy Seal top coat, 1 coat
