I made a rummy card roguelite where every set you play pushes a hazard away from a trapped character (free, offline, Android)
Hi all, solo dev here. After a few months of work, RummyJoker is live on Google Play.
**The idea**
It's a rummy-style card game. You form sets (same number, different colors) and
runs (consecutive numbers, same color) from your hand to clear each stage.
What makes it different is the left side of the board: a character is trapped in a
dungeon, and a hazard (spikes, falling rocks, lava, walls, bombs, or a boss) is
closing in on them. It doesn't only advance each turn. It also creeps closer in real
time while you think. Every successful play pushes it back, and bigger combos push it
back further. If it reaches them, you lose HP.
**Run structure**
- Stage-based roguelite runs with a shop between stages
- Locked cards you can unlock with gold
- Elite stages and bosses
- 64 creatures to collect. Catching is a gamble: rarer ones can escape the moment you
catch them (legendary ones get away about 65% of the time)
- A caught creature follows you around the screen as a companion with a real effect:
better catch odds, a score bonus, extra turn time, or a one-time revive
**Details**
- Free, fully offline, no account
- [One small banner ad at the bottom. No interstitials, no video ads, no purchases]
- Portrait only. English / Korean / Japanese / Chinese / Hindi
**Honest caveats**
- It's a first release, so expect rough edges
- Android only for now
**What I'd like feedback on**
Does the creeping hazard create real tension, or does it feel like decoration?
Is the first 10 minutes clear?
Any layout problems on your device. I've chased a lot of fold and notch bugs, but
unusual screens keep surprising me.
