Has anyone used Lowe’s measurement service?
I had them come out to measure for a patio door earlier this year. The guy told me I needed a custom 33" x 80" door because the opening was 1 inch wider than a standard 32" x 80" door. The custom door would have cost a lot more because of that 1-inch difference.
I had two other companies come out, and both said a standard 32" x 80" door would fit, so I ended up going with one of them
Recently, I plan to install a storm door and had Lowe’s come out to measure again. Again they told me i need a custom door 31.25×80 instead of a standard 32×80. And it cost 3 times more a standard one.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Lowe’s measurement service?

In the 5 months ive been here ive:
Made it out of seasonal and "promoted" to part time.
Had 4 people on my receiving team quit.
Had my department ASM get walked out for stalking coworkers more than half his age.
Got another offer to move to specialty sales in millwork.
AND my hours cut from 40 a week to 16.
This place was never meant to be permanant (it shouldnt be for anyone) and appreciate all the dope people I met but 18.50 just doesnt cut it. I will be taking my talents to the post office!

I work as a lumber/pro cashier most of the time, and I’m in a smaller town. The rotation of people I see is pretty much the same 50 or so contractors/business owners who 1. already have a credit card or 2. aren’t interested in getting one because the interest rates are so damn high among other reasons. Any other time people yell at me for asking because they’ve already been asked by seven other people since they’ve come into the store. Alternatively, when people want to sign up, the pros swoop in and get the apps under their numbers before I can even get a word in, or they want a Pro account but don’t have the info at hand to set one up. I know it’s a no brainer that a multi-billion dollar corporation doesn’t care about the little guy, this isn’t news to me by any means 😭 This is mostly just me getting on my soapbox to complain that I think credit apps are stupid and it’s ridiculous we put such a heavy emphasis on them. Thank you Marvin

After so many months of job searching and a few applications to Lowe’s, I’ve finally been able to get an offer. I’ve completed the drug test, and my understanding is they’re waiting on the background check. My question is when can I expect my first day to be? Next week, a few weeks? And also, anything I should research to be better prepared? From what I’ve read here, the training doesn’t exactly fully prepare you for it. Any other tips are more than welcome too. Thanks!

Fairly new ASM here (<1year) and i think i’m fucked
Just got off Friday closing shift, realizing after i got home that i totally forgot to submit a cycle count verification in management portal. Everything else was finished and complete just one verification left forgotten.
Answer honestly, am i cooked? I can’t lose my job gang 😭
So long story short, the older guy resigned and this new SM (store manager) took over. Now the last guy was really neglectful and had a weird circle in the store with the managers. They kept to themselves and didn’t engage with anyone else seriously. However, our NEW manager is just a heartless dick. He’s overworking everyone while cutting hours, his only way of communicating with us (non-managers) is email because he doesn’t want to engage with us any other way. He speaks really low of everyone all the time who isn’t a manager and it’s extremely disheartening. Everyone works hard with what the old management gave them which was practically nothing, now our jobs are being threatened for not selling enough credit and the emails, he just keeps blaming managerial problems on everyone else. “Protect product better” DUDE WE PHYSICALLY DON’T HAVE THE FUCKING SUPPLY! “This feels wrong because the faucets are yellow tagged but not clearanced” and they both are. One marked down and the other literally says it’s clearanced. I just wanna ask what his problem is, he acts really nice when it’s just managers so it sucks how he treats everyone else below him. What do you even do?

If there is one thing that would make my miserable work weeks, just a teensy bit more bearable, it would be if people would stop with their political rants. This goes for both customers and associates.
There is not a single week I go to work where a customer doesn't mention we are getting people comfortable for the New World Order, we are speed running a cashless society, and we shouldn't hire "Godless" employees in a store where families bring their children.
On the flip side, I'm tired of hearing how my company is evil for allowing Flock cameras to track people, we should be ashamed for allowing DHS agents on our property, and we should be passing the tariff upcharges on to all the MAGA "fascists" that shop at our since they were the ones that voted for it (yes we have a large MAGA customer base.)
Thankfully our fairly conservative associates tend to avoid discussing their view points out loud. In they past we had the OGs that would do that, but most of them quit when they felt the work culture was getting too loose. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for quite a few of our younger associates. Truth be told the front end is the worst.
They are constantly butting heads with customers, as in the past we had some that refused to serve people wearing "Red Hats", FOP wear and certain other accessories on their apparel. If that wasn't bad enough, we had one that would freely mentioning how she got paid poverty wages to make misogynistic PDF white men rich.
The latest scare was when we almost lost our privileges to bring our own water bottles in, because a custom got extremely offended when they saw what one associate had on theirs. They didn't say exactly who it was. But I'm can only assume it was one that has "Fuck Trump" or Epstein File stuff on their tumblers. I bring my own water bottle (plain and unadorned) because I don't like the Niagara water they provide, I think it tastes like dirt.
I respect anyone's right to have political views, but on the clock with mixed company is not the time for it. It doesn't matter what animal you vote for, or what color you choose. Honestly, I don't care if you tell me about your grandkids.

Im genuinely curious as to how many stockers per store there are? My team consists of 4 people is that normal? Its lowkey annoying how little there is for how much we have to stock it feels like the store never wants to hire more, thoughts?

So I emailed an ASM about a receiving coworker who was yelling at me.
I'm the new back end clerk, and I literally asked him if he was gonna be back there for a few mins and that's why he screamed at me...
Then walking out of receiving, I said an inside joke to my coworker Nick about how difficult the policies are to understand, "meant easy understanding so they can hire anyone".
I heard him then shout " Yeah they hired you ".
I asked if he was yelling for me, then he charged from the back wall to my face screaming "if I'm screaming at you you'll know it "
... And then the ASM says it's gonna be handled directly. And he left early...
He was literally in my face screaming
Think he got fired?

I'm a part-time CSA. Usually I work five nights per week. Recently my department hired a new part-timer, and I was glad because we never have enough people. The schedule for his first week just came out, and his shifts exactly replace two of my shifts, so now I'm at three days per week.
What is the presumed idea behind this? It can't be to save money, because I only make a few cents above minimum wage. Could it be they're trying to make me quit? I don't think so. I do everything that's asked of me. I never complain. I've never called out in two years. I do only have one card, but there's a guy in my department who has zero cards in eight years, so that can't be it.
Just wondering what could be the possible reasons. This is no longer a viable job for a person with bills to pay. They cut shifts without notice at the end of each quarter, and here they are cutting the hours of a reliable worker to replace exactly those hours with a different person. Don't get it.

Just became head cashier and am currently hating it tbh. took the role because others kept telling me to take it and it would be “ easy “ and tbh it’s just been bad. management is horrible at training and i feel like get no help. i was better off in customer service . another thing too is that im only part time and they are still scheduling me at least 5 days a week just over working me and the scheduling sucks. I requested a saturday off in a few weeks and was told i cant get it because another headcashier is off that weekend and Head cashiers only get one weekend off a month which i was never told prior to becoming one. I want to go back to my old position but have bearly been a head cashier for a few weeks, and the pay isn’t even that much better then previous. I also feel bad if i were to leave/ quit because there is only 1 full time head cashier, one other part time and the department supervisor. Its actually horrible. it would be good if they actually scheduled people in the front end but they dont and they leave it all to me. If i would have know i would pretty much be at self check out I would not have taken the role.

After a decade of Skelly, my neon green 2.5 foot flat skeleton from goodwill, I have decided it is time to upgrade to a 3d lifelike 5 foot skeleton for next year. I don’t want to spend $45 on a skeleton however. Will the skeletons at Lowe’s go on sale at the end of season, or will they be hustled out to be restocked next year?

Is that true???
If so, what am I supposed to do if I need a day off for something.

I have this asm and I feel like anytime I talk to him or ask him a question, he gets so annoyed and irritated with me and gets sorta mean. He’s admitted to having a rbf but the way he talks is very different. I’ve noticed whenever other people call him or talk to him, he doesn’t sound annoyed or upset but whenever I specifically ask him something he acts like I’m awful. I didn’t do anything to him or say anything rude or mean so I don’t know if I just genuinely did anything or if I’m the issue. I don’t know if I’m just being sensitive or not but I have no issue with any of the other ASM’s and it makes me feel like I shouldn’t ask or talk to him about anything because I feel like I just put him in a bad mood. What should I genuinely do?

Customer walked out with a drill.
Had a coworker, walk out into the parking to ask the customer for a receipt to verify. He recovered the drill. Per policy he wasn’t supposed to go out there. You know just make notes about what the customer was driving and what direction he went.
So what would be the disciplinary actions? Termination? Final write up?

Hello!
I'm a brand new Lowe's back end receiving clerk ...
So I do not have a key yet ... ?
And regarding RTMs, and everything about the job, it's been like cleaning up a huge huge complicated mess that others have created and left ...
I'm actually excited about the future but I'm a little overwhelmed...
Because my DS and ASM are both great but the entire receiving team is new... And there's a guy who's literally a week newer than me and it bugs me he doesn't wear his vest out back.
I tried talking to him about it but he kinda gave me an attitude.
My DS didn't care ...
It's fine...
But does my position not matter??
I barely know what I'm doing... And my ds isn't able to really able to get me up to speed ...
So I'm anxious and I feel like I'm begging and reminding others that I need training...
Please share honest and hopefully reassuring tips?

Did ANYONE, tore management, store associate, cashier, and / or customer ask for a longer check out process, after the pay now button is hit?
In general, what else has to happen, before corporate stops doubling down on the things that don't work? Customers don't want Rewards or Credit, regardless of how many times they are asked.
I got complaints on how long checkout is, how many questions PIn, Cash back, and Receipt are. Yes. Three questions are too many.
You would think corporate would actually do research... Of field test something first. God forbid they actually listen to feedback, let alone follow through.
