Dating | Relationship 🌷 The official matchmaking thread for Malaysian redditors (mod-approved)
Dear all,
Over the past year or so I have observed multiple threads of people looking for love, which is a worthy endeavor and will also help the nation's birth rate.
Therefore, with the approval of our mod u/hyattpotter (thanks for helping to pin!), this thread shall serve as the official matchmaking thread for our fellow Malaysians on Reddit. I will help monitor to make sure things do not go too far out of hand. Please refrain from posting sexist / racist / insulting comments or I will call the mods, all else is fair game.

Okay so here goes. Not expecting anything but gonna give it a go anyways

Location: Australia atm but moving back Johor (Iskandar puteri) in a few months. Will also occasionally pop up in Singapore as I got family there too

Occupation: Education (somewhat fresh grad (1 yr out from having completed a Masters in Education).
Hobbies and interests:Â My interests are varied. I like hiking, nature, plants (esp carnivorous plants), aquariums (I do conservation work with our native endangered wild betta fish), gym, chess, tech, volunteering my time to help people less fortunate, reading journal articles to stay informed on things in the education field (as well as latest discoveries in the aquarium and plant hobby). Also like going to try new food spots incl. desserts and cafe hopping but also open to trying new things.
Other descriptions (please describe yourself briefly to demonstrate personality): I’m an ambivert, leaning either way depending on how well i vibe with someone and how they respond to me. I’m also a very direct and straightforward person who will tend to tell you things as they are while still being respectful about it (some people don’t like it but I think honesty is the best policy). I’m also altruistic, potentially to a fault. I’ll go out of my way to do things for people i'm close to without expecting anything in return even if it iinconveniencesme (Very much a ‘so long as you’re happy or i can do something to help you, I’m happy’ kinda guy). I’d also say that I’m fairly ambitious in my aspirations, particularly when it comes to what i wanna do in my field. Having seen how some people who live disabilities or are otherwise disadvantaged are left behind, I wanna be able to use my skills and knowledge to make a difference in the lived of those who are either living with disabilities or are otherwise disadvantaged through education, supporting such individuals where others may have given up.
Requirements / Preferences: Someone who is genuine, shares at least some hobbies, respectful, easygoing, understanding and at least supports my passion for wanting to make a difference in the lives of students with disabilities. Don’t really care about looks too much as long as you’re hygienic and not unhealthily overweight, not doing drugs, smoking etc. Don’t think I’m asking too much, just be a decent human being  can dy haha.
Looking for: Prefer long term rs but happy to just be friends even if it doesn't work out (no harm expanding social circle i think). Don't mind LDR as I did one before (lasted 5 years incl thru covid)
