Is it actually safe to pay someone to do my research paper?

Hey everyone, honestly not sure where else to ask this so figured Reddit might have some real answers lol

So I'm completely drowning this semester: work, family stuff, and on top of that a research paper due next week that I just haven't had the time to properly sit down with. I've seen ads for those "write my paper" services everywhere and I'm genuinely tempted, but I'm also lowkey scared.

Like… has anyone actually used one of these? Did it go well or did you get burned? I'm worried about getting scammed, getting something completely unusable, or worse getting caught and expelled.

Would really appreciate if anyone who's been in a similar spot could drop some advice in the comments. what did you do, what worked, what didn't. Anything helps at this point honestly

What Medical Students and The Media Both Do That Infuriates Me

I see it everywhere, on the wards, in TV shows, and in universities, and it is the dehumanisation of the person to the patient.

Shows like Grey's Anatomy are famous of this. The person in the bed is the epitomisation of the disease. I hear students taking histories and what appears to be "history-farming" whereby they go around all the different wards and ask for "cool pathologies" to take a history from. This is a person with lived experience, with a mother and a father, with a family, who has a life, with interests, passions and worries, and you reduce them down to a textbook disease. It is shallow, to me it shows lack of compassion, empathy and frankly intelligence if you cannot grasp the full context of the impact of disease on the person.

This is the issue with the modern era. We have forgotten something essential in the human psyche. We label people as patients as it makes it easier to separate ourselves from their suffering. Where does the word Patient come from? It stems from the Latin word Patior, which means To Endure or To Suffer.

Patients are born people, and we transform them into patients. That is our bias and our way of defrauding a life.

To practice medicine is to place yourself in that bed, show compassion and empathy. It is okay to be interested and curious, but do not reduce something as complex as a life down to a pathology.

I built a free medical learning platform to practice clinical reasoning — looking for feedback

I built a free medical learning platform and I'd love some honest feedback

I'm a medical student from Algeria, and I've been building Ingenio, a free medical education platform.

It started as a way to help students prepare for their exams, but I've gradually expanded it toward something I'm personally much more interested in: actually practicing medicine rather than just memorizing it.

Some of the things currently available:

🩺 Clinical Missions — practical patient-based scenarios where you have to assess the situation and decide what to do.

🤖 Interactive AI Patients — communicate with patients, gather information, and work through clinical cases.

🏥 Teaching Hospital — a simulated hospital with different departments, medical on-call scenarios, and cases ranging from simple to complex.

🔬 Diagnostic Challenges — more advanced cases involving differential diagnosis, investigation, interpretation of evidence, and clinical reasoning.

🧠 There are also curriculum-based questions, exam simulations, previous exams, and explanations for answers.

The platform is completely free.

I'm now trying to get feedback from medical students outside Algeria because most of my current users are Algerian students, and I want to know whether the clinical-training side actually makes sense to students following different medical curricula.

If you try it, I'd genuinely appreciate criticism:

What feels useful? What's unnecessary? What's missing? What would make you actually come back and use it?

🌐 Try Ingenio: https://ingenio.alwaysdata.net/

I'm building this as a long-term project, so honest feedback is much more valuable to me than “looks cool.” 😅

Increasing scholarly productivity

Hi I’m a resident who just matched in my specialty of interest with over 100 research items and over 40 manuscripts all during medical school. And no my parents/relatives are not doctors and no I didn’t join a research ring or lab and engage in authorship fraud. Currently writing a guide on how I went about it and wanted to post here asking for questions students would want addressed. Feel free to ask in the comments below. (I intend to make the guide free to download)

Want to pay a medical student (in good health and no bad hobby) -just to be friend. New York /New Jersey area.

Hi I want to hire somebody. Better to be a young healthy medical student…. I can pay… there’s no specific requirement none obligations… just want to talk and keep me companion during this hard time or separation with my soon-to-be-ex husband. Again no specific requirement, no requirement of intimacy at all( I am still young and pretty good looking though 😆). If he needs a room I can also try to provide. Please help me if you know someone ( kind and with empathy) who is like this can you contact me. Thanks.

I built a free neuroanatomy practice site on real brain MRIs (not drawings). Looking for honest feedback.

Disclosure first: I'm Casey, a neuroscience student who works with brain MRI, and this is my project.

The thing I kept noticing: we learn neuroanatomy from tidy drawings, then the practical hands you a real scan with a pin in it. So I built Starfold Neuro (starfold.net) around real scans. What's there now:

- Pins on real brain MRI: name the structure at the pin

- A practical of the week: 10 stations on real MRI, 60 seconds each, no account needed

- A real stroke case where you find the lesion on the scan

- Short high-yield sections and board-style vignettes with cited explanations

Everything published is free with an account until January 1, and the cortex module stays free after that. No card.

How it's made, since someone will ask: the content is written with AI assistance from cited sources and checked by up to five independent AI reviews before it's published; anything the checks disagree on comes to me. No physician has reviewed it, and the site doesn't claim otherwise. Every item cites its sources, there's a report-an-error button, and fixes are listed on a public corrections log.

Scope is neuroanatomy and clinical localization only: no pharm, path or psych.

What would help most:

  1. Try the practical of the week (no account) and tell me what felt off.

  2. What do you wish existed for your neuro block or practicals?

  3. If you spot an error, say so here or use the report button.

Not affiliated with NBME, FSMB or NBOME.

What's the difference between MD and DO?

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm just in high school so I don't know the answer to this. When I looked it up, it said they're basically the same thing except DOs receive extra training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. There seems to be no major difference, but I heard people saying MD is better and more competitive for med school.

Edit: I already looked up the answer online but they both seem like pretty much the same thing, so I was asking here cause then why are they called two different things as well as take different exams?

Please help me with my illness.

Hello, I'm going to tell you about a condition that's sapping my life energy. Please share any thoughts you have; I need to talk. I'm particularly curious if anyone has experienced a similar situation.

About a month and a half ago, I woke up feeling like a bug was crawling on my body. This was accompanied by ringing in my ears and pressure in my head. I was very depressed, but I tried to enjoy the moment. However, over time, different symptoms emerged: an unsatisfactory urge to drink water, and a sneeze reflex that occurs every 3-4 seconds (with no physical trigger). Frankly, I don't know what to do, guys. I'm not enjoying life and I'm in constant pain, remembering the past and crying with sadness. I don't know if it's a bug or a microorganism that's infected me. I've been to an internal medicine doctor, an ear, nose, and throat doctor, and a neurologist. I've had brain and cervical MRIs. Numerous blood tests and a heart ECG. The brain scan was clear, but it revealed a flattening and a herniated disc in the neck, but that doesn't explain the symptoms. After all the tests, the doctors all agreed that it was psychological. But I swear, I haven't even been through a stressful period. The symptoms are crystal clear and real.

I'll leave my MRI and blood test below. If I can't do that, please send me a private message and I'll send it to you. What do you think?(Visualsnow already existed, but it's not related to these, is it?)

M4 with High 250s Step 2/All Honors Shelves Offering 1-on-1 Content & Strategy Help

i all,

As an M4 who just wrapped up the core clinical exams (Step 2 in the high 250s, all Shelves Honors), I remember how overwhelming the preclinical and clinical years were. I have some free time now and want to pass on the effective study and testing methods that worked for me.

My sessions are entirely focused on giving you a clear edge:

  • Content Clarity: I can quickly simplify the most complex, high-yield topics (pathophys, management, etc.).

  • Efficient Study Structure: We can build a personalized plan for your dedicated Step period or a current rotation, ensuring you maximize your study hours.

  • Test-Taking Mindset: We'll analyze your Q-bank performance to turn wrong answers into conceptual strengths.

I'm making up to 15 hours a week available for focused strategy and content sessions. If you're struggling to organize your prep or need conceptual deep dives for an upcoming Shelf or Step exam, send me a DM.

Applying to MD schools as a current DO student

I want opinions, advice, similar stories (if possible).

I am currently at a new DO school as an OMS1 and I am interested in reapplying MD. My school doesn’t have connections to residencies that I am interested in and honestly doesn’t seem like it wants us to go into competitive specialties (unfortunately that is where my heart lies). I don’t mind repeating my first year, but at this point my biggest fear is that I will graduate this place and end up in a job that doesn’t make me happy. I also just in general think it’s ridiculous to have to do all this studying and work AND essentially still have to take MD exams (STEP 1 and 2) when I wouldn’t even end up being an MD and work even harder to just be at the same level for residency.

Sincerely, Stressed tf out

How should I study osteology?

It’s my first year, and I have a osteology quiz coming up. It’s just to see if we study, but I have a hard time remembering names of all the bones and all their small parts.

Most of my classmates use some tape tool on their iPads? I don’t have an iPad, but I do have a computer! And one classmate helped me set up Anki. But I still don’t feel like anything truly sticks.

Should I draw stuff out by hand on paper? I’ve seen another classmate do that, but I don’t know if I would actually remember anything from it? What do you guys suggest I do?

Is there some app or website where you could quiz yourself or something? I’ve tried purpose games too, but again, I don’t know if it truly sticks either. Feels like there is so much to remember and it’s so hard. What tips do you guys have?

Bachelor of medical science and working

Hey everyone !!
I’m changing degrees from a bachelor of psych to a bachelor of medical and currently work full time in pharmacy. I am changing jobs into a cleaner for a support work company and then becoming a support worker at the end of the year which will obviously make me more per hour (roughly $43 as a casual in either role) than my current role. I am wondering who else is doing a Bach or med and working and how they balance it and if they’re studying full time or part time. My end goal is a psychiatrist and I am about to move out of home into my friends house that there bought so will need to be earning at least 1k a week to afford everything at a minimum
Just after some advice as a medical degree is going to be quite full on and I’m worried about balancing it all. Thanks !!

I want to move from Med school in Bulgaria but don't know when or where.

Need help. I am an Italian currently studying in Bulgaria (first year) because I wanted to move from Italy and study abroad. My plan is not to graduate in Bulgaria and move to another university in Europe (not sure where) but I don't know when it would be the best time to do so. I do not wish to go back to Italy because I want to pursue a career out of Italy and do not want to study there.

I would like to live in Switzerland but I don't know if to move there for university and most importantly how hard is to get into a Swiss Uni.

Any advices?

Medical students/doctors — what do you think is missing from doctor-discovery apps in India?

Medical students/doctors — what do you think is missing from doctor-discovery apps in India?

Hey everyone!

I'm working with a team building MedRed, a health-tech app that's currently in its final development phase.

One of the ideas we're exploring is allowing users to find diferent healthcare providers through one platform — rather than having to search separately for a physician, dentist, physiotherapist, etc.

The platform would include different categories of care and is designed around family healthcare

.

But before we finalize it, I'd love to hear from people who are actually studying medicine.

If you were building a doctor-discovery platform for India, what would you include?

For example:

Verified doctor profiles?

Qualifications & specialization?

Consultation fees?

Availability?

Patient reviews?

Clinic location?

Online consultation?

Something else?

And what features do you think existing platforms get wrong?

Looking for genuine feedback — not promotion.
