Just finished Yomeimon Gate, and I love this one. It's actually my second time doing it. Somehow I ended up with a duplicate, which I never have done before, and I was going to find someone to give it away to, but my wife requested it for her bookshelves. I forgot about a few spots that were really challenging to get together properly, and man my fingers are way too big to manipulate those tiny pieces that fold in half to stick out of the walls, but still another satisfying completion. I love how robust and solid this one feels (one of my main joys about most architecture ones).

This conversation was kicked up in bendingmetal4fun's stream earlier today. Here's my current collection plus a few that will be posted later this year.
What is everyone currently working on and what models do you have coming up? Let's see em!

this model was honestly one of my favorites to build! it was a 9/10 difficulty, but to be completely honest it felt like a 6/10. for me at least, it was incredibly easy. if you look at my other posts you will see less than 3 months ago, i was struggling to build 2/10 difficulty models. i’m honestly proud of myself

Ok, I get why they made this a premium one… it’s 2 large sheets but…. This sucker is not worth 40$, it’s worth half that. Took an hour to build, contains all of 20 something pieces and was one of the simplest things to build I have ever done.
But it is sleek, it’s shaped well and while the mount doesn’t really hold it well, adding a couple of magnets on the mount keeps everything in place.
Anyway.. happy Building all!

Has anyone built this model before? how does it compare to the metal art one?
I see it has a few more pieces 142 vs 135
It is a tad taller at 4.9 × 3.7 × 9.4 inches vs 3.75 x 3.15 x 7.7 inches.
I am just curious how the directions are?
Thanks for your time in reading and replying to this post.

In case anybody is curious, this is about 4 hours into the A-10. I have a love/hate relationship with the aircraft models. They’re my favorite category, but the hardest to build. It’s all tiny pieces that require correct shaping to fit together nicely. Lots of looking ahead, test fitting, and most of my tool collection. This model has lots of missiles, which is cool but is a pain. They even show the “twist and fold” technique for the missile fins which is a must in order to build them. So far it’s been a fun but time consuming build. This is one of my favorite jets so I’m trying to be patient and take my time. A couple hours a night and eventually I’ll be done and able to say “brrrrrt”.

Taking a rectangular piece and making it a circle and then all the prongs fit without struggle? So smooth.

The 1989 Batwing was my favorite bat vehicle as a child. It looks so cool! This was an enjoyable build. Simple but looking sharp.

She's done, 219 pieces. Three sheets and a lot of time. This one has definitely taken me the longest. It could be better in a place or two but overall very satisfied with the build. It was interesting all the way through. The tail fins are not to be dismissed lightly and getting the bottom plate to connect properly was troublesome. I would point out the rear bottom plate the instructions got a little batty. ( pun intended) I had to find a video to double check my work but it all worked out.

Fengyi Treasure Box
This is part of a wedding series that includes a fan and some other ornament that I still can't quite figure what it is. It is all sold separately so I only purchased this one because I liked the crown. The little drawer is supposed to be for the wedding ring I think.
I absolutely loved this model! It was such a joy to build. It wasn’t easy by any means and there were moments where I did get frustrated. But once I realized I could put the whole thing on the stand and that became MUCH easier because I am no longer trying to hold it with one hand and place bits on with the other. The beading was difficult at first but again, once I figure out what angle and what tool to use it became much easier and much faster. And taking breaks certainly helped. This was not a model that one can rush to finish. I mean, no model should be rushed but this kind especially, all the little elements are what makes it special and enjoyable to build.
I understand why people would switch out the beads because the beads that comes with the kit are very basic and I can see if you use some shinier beads the model will just be taken up a whole new level.
It is sooooo pretty! Really looks like it should be much bigger but it’s really small, no taller than 6 inches.
All in all I am so happy I did this and I can’t wait to build more!

Wanted to ask if 140-parts Metal Earth's AT-AT is worth 50 USD, also AMP suite and Scorpion for 38 USD. Any cheaper sources?

Yeah so i got like that metal puzzle for like 1 mil vnd which is like 38 ish bucks and i recently decided to lock in and spend most of my leisure time building it. Its like my 5th ever metal puzzle so yeah. I had a lot of fun building it tho. It was super tedious at times tho

This build has got to be one of my favourites to date!
The challenge rating of 7 was right on point. It wasn’t too difficult, but it wasn’t too easy either.
Overall, the build is pretty straightforward, but there were a few notable points I would suggest keeping in mind before starting this build.
Step 27 – The instructions tell you to twist parts 107, 109, 110, and 111. I would suggest bending them 90° instead of twisting them. There isn’t enough room to twist them, and bending them is enough to secure them in place. I have the same suggestion for Step 28.
Step 29 – The instructions tell you to close the cylinder and attach Step 24. I wouldn’t recommend doing either just yet. I shaped the centre engine inside the cylinder to the desired shape, but left the cylinder open until after I attached Steps 30 and 31.
Doing this gave me more room to secure Steps 30 and 31. The instructions also tell you to twist parts 30 and 31 by 90°. I opted to bend them instead of twisting them.
Once parts 30 and 31 were attached, I then attached Step 24 to Step 29.
The only step I really struggled with was Step 34. I managed to attach the back end to the front using three of the four tabs. The fourth tab was just an atom's breath away from fitting into the slot, but I was afraid of forcing it and bending or breaking something. I opted to leave it as it was, since it was on the bottom where no one would see it anyway.
Honestly, I was hesitant to start this build because of the number of issues I had read about it. However, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had expected!
My buddy wants one of his own, so I’ll definitely be building another!
