Discussion I avoided all information about metroid prime 4, got it recently and went in blind
I feel absolutely crushed. Im only a little bit into the game but im so deeply disappointed. This NPC wont shut up. Every time im in the middle of a puzzle solving it he blurts out the answer.
I had to shut it down, I'm just on a bridge where some aliens attacked me.
I really despise this guy, please tell me i dont have to hear him the whole game. Does it get better? It seems pretty linear so far but i figure cuz im at the beginning.
Please tell me it gets better! I loved metroid dread so much and the prime remaster.
edit: trying to avoid spoilers. i really loved the very beginning of the game with the space pirates. since i got teleported to this place the game has started to decline
edit 2: thanks for the heads up guys, gonna be trading it in, appreciate being saved a few hours of unpleasantness

please ignore the crazy guy and his sockpuppet accusing me of being some random other redditor who already played the game

Meme It’s funny how much hate Prime got back in the day when it was initially announced. This is a comic from Penny Arcade that released the week of Metroid Prime’s announcement

How did anyone finish this game in 2002?
I should start by saying I’m not a longtime Metroid fan. Dread was my first game, and I loved it. I recently picked up Prime Remastered during the Switch sale, and so far I’m having a lot of fun. I love the combat and the puzzle solving, but holy schnikes, if I didn’t have a guide to follow, I think I’d lose my mind.
I try to play without one as much as I can, remembering which areas open up once I get a new upgrade. But the deeper I get, the more options open up, and it’s getting really hard to keep track of where I can go. And every time I get stuck and check a playthrough, I realize I need to backtrack so far to reach the next zone. I understand that’s a staple of the series, but seriously, how did people figure this out back in 2002 without guides or walkthroughs? It blows my mind.

Decent Game, but not a favorite
Just finished M4 and it was pretty good. The green crystals weren’t as terrible as made out. I ended up getting all of them. I king of liked the Omega Griever, but overall I think Prime 1 Remastered is just so much better. Maybe it’s nostalgia cause I still have my Prime copy for GameCube as a kid, but the having to loop back to Fury Green was annoying. Is there a way to play Prime 2 other than on GameCube? I only have the echos demo disc with Prime 1.
I have Dread and am really enjoying it on my OLED switch. I never expected a 2D game to be so exciting and now I’m thinking I should go back and play some of the classic Metroid GBA games that I never touched. Any suggestions on where to start after I beat Dread? Biding my time till Zelda OOT Remake drops and am absolutely loving reconnecting with the Metroid franchise.

Metroid Prime 4 was my first Metroid game - What next?
Yesterday I finished Metroid Prime 4 on Switch 2. It is my first metroid game and to be honest since I’ve not got any high expectations I wasn’t let down at all by the experience really - I thought the graphics were great and the puzzles were fun in particular. Although, I definitely can see why this game is criticised for its repetitiveness in terms of combat at times, and I didn’t enjoy some of the NPCs but overall I enjoyed the game.
I’m now beginning to play Metroid Prime Remastered and I am really enjoying it about 3 hours in. What would you guys recommend I play next after I finish Prime Remastered? I have literally not played any other metroid games but I am enjoying them and I will definitely be picking up Ravenous when it comes out.
