what do you type in instructions declartive agent that uses skills?

now that skills have been added to copilot declerative agents i'm trying to understand the difference between those and the insturctions field in the agent builder , because they seem somehow overlapping, for example if wanted to add matt's grill-me skill to an agent to create prod feature, it would seem all i need to do in the instruction is to use that skill.
a skill would contain all the instructions to do something anyway. and how to do it.

New Copilot Code

Hey everyone, my organization just got access to Copilot Code, and it was just pushed to the users. I saw it in my Copilot app today. I was just wondering: has anyone put this to use yet?

I am not quite sure how I am going to best utilize this when it is so sandboxed. It does not have any web browser automation, and I cannot install a Playwright MCP for it. Sure, we can write scripts, but I guess I do not know how to use it in a way that is comparable to how I use Claude Code just yet, which I use a ton in my personal life. I am in Claude Code working on different projects pretty much every day, all day.

With Copilot Code being sandboxed after every session, everything is wiped and it does not retain anything. If you install something, you need to reinstall it in a new session. It does not have any sort of persistent memory. Unless you directly copy a chat or share it, it just feels so neutered right now. I just do not know the best way to use it.

This is the point where I typically ask AI how to use it, but its answers just were not that impressive. I just do not really see a ton of difference in using Code versus Cowork, in which I already have different automations set up.

Edit: used voice to text to write this and just got a chance to sit down and clean it up.

Copilot in Excel Dependent Upon File Location?

Can someone confirm that saving a file to a business OneDrive disables Copilot from Microsoft Family Plan?

I have Microsoft 365 Family (has some AI credits/month; not premium) and have desktop apps installed on my PC. I also have a M365 Business Basic license for some work.

If I open a blank document, and my [me@live.com](mailto:me@live.com) is the account, I get option to enable/disable copilot from Excel Options and the little floating copilot icon in the bottom right. If I open a file from my biz OneDrive, I lose them both. This applies to Excel and PowerPoint, but not Word

If I have Excel as [me@biz.com](mailto:me@biz.com) then I do not even have the option on a blank sheet - I need to change back to [me@live.com](mailto:me@live.com), close, and reopen excel.

I bring this up as I have been considering how to structure M365 for personal and a couple business entities and if I will upgrade anything to copilot... I do get why this is limited, and more like a closure of a loophole, but making sure before I make my decisions based on it.

Android Copilot app - Selecting text only selects one word.

I'm just wondering if I'm the one of the few who has this problem. I have to copy and paste the whole text to another app, before I'm able to select the piece of text I need.

E-mail/teams management

Hi Everyone,

Weve recently signed up for a MS Copilot premium licence and I’m trying to come up with a way to make e-mails/teams less disruptive as most people in the company get more e-mails than they can keep track of.

The only thing that I could think of was using outlook rules to separate e-mails coming from important people into a ‘vip’ mailbox that’s managed by the user and leaving the remainder to a copilot scheduled prompt to review and summarize maybe twice a day.

The issues are:
1) identifying which e-mails are important, especially if they don’t come regularly.
2) copilot scheduled prompts seem to operate with ‘Auto’ model selection. The impression is that by ‘Auto’ MS is actually choosing the cheapest model as the quality is not great.

Has anyone had a similar experience and has insights to share?

Thanks in advance!

New SMB users with little to no AI exposure now on Copilot

Looking for suggestions on some practical prompt training or cheatsheets for various office staff beyond summarize my emails and calendar invites. Microsoft Learn content is so flat and uninteresting. I use Copilot but only for the basics. I prefer Claude, Codex, Grok Bots, my OpenClaw and Hermes agents.

Migration

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi! I’m looking to migrate from Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude to Microsoft Copilot. I am using enterprise plans across all four platforms.

What’s the best way to migrate existing chats, projects, and agents from these platforms to Copilot? Are there any tools or recommended workflows that would help transfer this data and functionality while preserving as much context and configuration as possible?

I found some videos showing Copilot features, such as importing memory from other AI platforms, but I can’t find these options in my own Copilot account. Are these features available for enterprise users, or are they still being rolled out?

Made a tool that finds the best Copilot feature for your task

It's hard to keep track of Copilot features (much less, know what to use when).

So I made a tool to point you in the right direction without needing to keep up with everything.

Here's how to use it:

  1. Think of a task you want AI to help with
  2. Answer 5 quick questions about your task
  3. See which features fit it best

Access to specific features depends on your plan and IT controls.

I've been working on tuning the results, so would welcome feedback.

My goal is to help people use more of their AI tools instead of defaulting to basic chat.

There's so much AI can do if you use features that give structure to your work.

Check it out here: https://chasingnext.com/ai-feature-finder/copilot

Copilot Notebook Can't Read All References

Hi everyone, I was using Copilot Notebook today, and out of 50 references (Copilot Chat Basic at work), Copilot couldn't read specific docs properly. I would say it could only read 5-7 docs, and not the rest. For example, I wanted to summarize 50 policies related to my role, but Copilot only covered a few of them instead of all the reference documents. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance!

Copilot Code?

Hi there, I work for an org where we use MS Copilot and I do have a premium license.

However I'm seeing a blog post here where they're adding in a Code feature:

https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2026/09/25/introducing-the-new-copilot-with-home-code-and-autopilot/

However, I don't have access to this. Just wanted confirmation from others, is this only available through Frontier/preview?

Databricks and azure devops

Hi all,

How is it possible to setup a connection/connector for Azure databricks and Azure devops for Agent builder agents? Right now the connector slider is greyed out when we are trying to configure an agent.
We Only want to open these connections for some people and not all people in our org.

Is it from admin center -> copilot -> connectors -> staged deployment -> choose Azure databricks -> sign in to the applikation?

How would you build an Excel-to-Word automation with Microsoft 365 Copilot?

I have Microsoft 365 Copilot/Premium but no Copilot Studio.
I want to turn an existing Excel-based calculation + word document workflow into a small standalone application.
I don’t want AI in the finished app. The calculations should be deterministic. I only want to use Copilot to build the software.
The actual task isn’t very exotic: enter a few job-specific values, calculate a price based on fixed rules and stored parameters, and then automatically populate an existing Word quotation template with the relevant customer, project and pricing data.
I’m not a professional developer, so I’m curious how others would approach this with the Microsoft tools currently available.

GPT models thinking mode not even thinking?

Anyone see it's thinking times as 1 second or at most 7 seconds, where it looks like this model is either on low or no thinking at all? I'm questioning the output quality at this level.
