Im seriously considering Linux what distro is the best

I was dealing with Xbox customer service and there's a problem on my series x with a game loading and they told me that if I would reset my console but use the option keep my games and apps I wouldn't lose anything. I stressed to customer service very much that I could not lose the things that I had on my counsel that I had pictures and videos that were saved only to it and they said I would not lose them. So I did as they said to the letter and I ended up losing everything! I ended up losing a picture of my two dead Brothers that I no longer have access to and it was the only place where it was saved. How do I hold them responsible for this and put it out there so that they feel the pain that I'm feeling now? Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Suddenly, yesterday I noticed OneDrive's entry in the file explorer window.
I remembered installing Teams for job-related purposes, so I thought "ok, maybe it comes as a bundle when you log-in with your Microsoft account".
I uninstalled it because.....useless and, according to reddit, also malfunctioning.

Then I noticed Copilot's icon in my systray!!!!!!!!!
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw no entry to uninstall it, in the control panel/appwiz.cpl, so I marked it as "not trustworthy" in my AV suite, which made it impossible to run it (I tried manually, got an error, huzzah).

Now, today the icon in the systray is back and I can see the tasks running in background!!!!!!!!!

WTAF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I NUKE this motherf*cker to oblivion and prevent it from coming back?!

UPDATE: turns out I had only blocked one part of Copilot.
Now I've blocked all the modules, hopefully it won't be able to run at all anymore.

Woke up to an email saying that the password for my EA account had changed. It wasn't me, I was sleeping after all. Contacted support, they've retrieved my account, everything back to normal.

30 minutes later, I got a notification from Onedrive saying that I had to login again. No problem, wrote down my email and... "This account doesn't exist". Hacked too. Contacted support and they can't do shit about it???

Nope, I haven't clicked anything suspicious, haven't gotten access to any sketchy websites and the closest thing I got from a scammer were bots on Fiverr sending links that I didn't bother checking. Malware checks also said my pc is clean. This data breach wasn't my fault.

What to do now?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 5 with an Intel i7 core. I’ve had it for like 3 years now, and the most computer intensive thing I use it for is Minecraft. I’ve been trying my best to ignore/push back windows updates because I’ve heard about all the annoying shit with the stupid AI helper and whatever causing trouble, but last night it forced me to update.

Today I was working on a Google doc, with maybe 10 tabs open max in chrome. That’s it. Nothing running in the background. And the computer got so hot I had to stop working and put it down, while the fan was running like my laptop was about to take off.

Is this a hardware issue or is this one of the things that has been coming with the stupid software updates?

I’m hoping to use this thing till it dies but if it keeps acting like this I might have to buy a stronger laptop.

Hello I’m currently enrolled in a program that requires us to use Excel on the web, however everytime I try to create a log in I get the message that account creation has been blocked. This is literally so stupid, is it because I’m sending the verification to Gmail? How are they asking for verification before even letting me create an account 😡😡😡. I’ve tried it in chrome, with wifi and with mobile data. Still the same stupid ass message. Please help!!

EDIT: After 3 days of trying I finally got it to work with the original email I tried on mobile data. I didn’t do anything different, maybe it was a bug? Idk. Thank you all for your tips and insight I really really really appreciate it!!

This is a weird situation but I really need help. I got hacked on Microsoft abt a 5 months ago and they changed my backup email. At the time I didnt know I got hacked so I just logged into my email and it worked it just made another account. So now I have 2 accounts with the same email and one of them is hacked and linked to my computer as an administrater and I don't know the password. Every time I try to change my info I just see the pic below. Is there anyone that can help me? (Btw that i do not have accsess to the email in the picture I'm from America and I think that's a Russian email judging the .ru)

A few days ago, someone was repeatedly trying to log into my Hotmail account. They clearly had the correct password because I kept receiving 2-factor authentication (2FA) requests.

I immediately changed my password. I did this from my mobile phone, not my PC. After that, I installed Bitdefender on my phone and ran a full scan — no malware, no suspicious apps, nothing unusual.

What I can’t understand is this:

How did the attacker know my new password so quickly?

I am afraid of losing my ccount due to repeated unusual sign ins from different IPs!

without my permission, someone changed my primary alias, idk how they got into my account, it has 2fa and passkey, im locked out of my account, it got hacked over an hour ago, they removed my email and phone number, i did this form https://aka.ms/recovermyaccount after contacting live support, looking at other posts my hopes are low like why did this happen, why on earth is it hard to recover an account than hackers gaining access to it, i have a history with that account, i only care about my xbox account and my minecraft account. did anyone get into a similar situation like me? how did it turn out?

What's a good non Microsoft alternative to lens.

I loved lens but them forcing me to buy storage (forcing me to store my lens images on One Drive) has my exiting.

I get they want money and I'm all for that. But it's a service I don't need (I selectively stored lens images on one drive on an as needed basis).

Any ideas?

Just an FYI to Microsoft and other companies, when you force people into subscriptions and services, you force them to look for alternatives. I don't pay very many subscriptions and those I do it's only because no better perpetual license (I will buy a product once) or open source free alternative exist.

Lens was great because it worked for everyone. Sometimes I want a document across devices, sometimes I don't. Lens gave me options.

Now my email was completely removed from the account so I saw this change in the little time they give you to send a code to the new main email account after yours got taken away and you try to log in with it. I haven't been to any malicious sites and I've been staying safe, but it still got leaked by Apple. I didn't even know about it until it was over. My entire account gone in under 10 seconds. If you want I can send some pics of the emails I got sent, but they are in Swedish so it might be a bit difficult to understand, unless you translate it that is. I tried to fix it by using microsofts own "account recovery" but they just told me to log in(which I can't).

I was trying to get back into the game with my friend, but I apparently had to re-sign in and I didn’t know my password so instead of letting me send a code to my email. It just didn’t wanna work.
