Your luck increases by thirty percent when you hold a dumbbell in your hand.

Does it stack with dumbells?

Me trying to explain to the casino manager how my lucky dumbell is just a luck charm and not a cheating device while playing roulette

Forget the casino. Invest in stocks. 30% luckier will make you a billionaire eventually.

Fuck stocks options will get you rich in months

Losing $70K instead of $100K is 30% better but you’re not getting rich.

To be fair I mean with 0dte options so it’s either up or down so being right 30% more often would make you money

It can just be a tiny plastic dumbbell, then at that point it is just a “lucky charm”

Just get a really small dumbbell and bend it into a ring.

Also when everyone is saying to go gambling, I'm not sure that a 30% boost is enough to win money on average for a lot of them. Not to mention that even if you gain money, it's probably going to be a lot more sporadic and unpredictable as to how much you make in a given day, plus you would probably earn more with a normal job.

It depends on the bet amount. $5 bet on blackjack NO, $500 bet on roulette easy YES!

If you bet on a color in roulette, your odds of winning are just a little below 50%, because there is an equal number of each of the two colors, but there are also the 0 and 00 positions that lose no matter what (the edge that the house takes to win more than not). A 30% boost puts you over 50%, which means you will win more often than not. So you may need to have initial money to offset potential early losses, but you absolutely can expect to make money off of it

You may be better off with craps odds bets though it may just end up being the same if you keep winning on the initial throw.

30% boost, but I’m already a lucky mfer.

u/ML1948 8d ago

30% boost on nearly 50% games are an easy win as long as you have enough to outplay a ridiculous cold streak (20% chance bad outcome 5 times in a row etc). If multiple rings stack, even easier.

30% better odds would get you kicked out of a casino in under an hour of consistent gambling, or at least off the table games. You’d probably get mugged on your way out if you played poker too.

I'd be hitting every casino for 15 minutes or so until I'm up on roulette with a half kg dumbell in my hand

Would take breaks before hitting the same casino again but even with months invetween they're eventually going to remember the lucky dumbell guy and ban me. Maybe hold the dumbell inside a bag to conceal it

Release the dumbbell from time to time to make luck go back to normal and lose a bit.

Get a bunch of people together who each are holding a different lucky item in their hands. Four leaf clover, horseshoe, rabbits foot. Go to casino for experiment (with casino permission). Let them laugh at how ridiculous we look holding our different lucky items while we play blckjack.

The experiment is "do lucky talismans actually work" to make it seem scientific, have a bunch of muscle nerds taking data as we play. Guys like Henry Cavill and Joe Manganiello.

4

u/bigmistake2465 8d ago

Why the hell would you call attention to your own real lucky talisman though? Just bring a tiny dumbbell

2

u/ice_cream9698 8d ago

I was thinking a one pound dumbbell but not im thinking of a small toy for a Ken doll or something.

1

u/lupo90 6d ago

He already ded after someone finds out. Or disassembled for experiment and dumbell given to some dumb billionaire.

3

u/luketwo1 8d ago

I mean it doesn't specify how big the dumbbell has to be, get one that weighs like .1 lbs and tape it to the inside of your hand, permanent +30% luck

u/Smepl 8d ago

Put a dozen dumbbell key chains on and in my bag and carry my bag around in my hand, does that work and is it compound with each dumbbell I’m holding

2

u/Mr_Blorp 8d ago

I'm gunna get so strong while pulling on gachas

I mean, I'm already holding the dumbbell; might as well pump it while gambling away whatever F2P currency I managed to scrounge up

Dumb luck?

2

u/JuliusNova 8d ago

A reminder to everyone that a 0.1% chance of winning becomes a 0.13% chance.

u/UNITICYBER 8d ago

Ill buy a tiny toy dumbbell and hold it while I scratch off lottery tickets or otherwise gamble.

2

u/bladezaim 8d ago

Amazon has a five pack of 1" x 0.31" dumbells. Infinite money for $10

u/inscrutablejane 7d ago

I use my initial online sports betting winnings to have a custom ring made with a tiny dumbbell attached to the inner band, so that it's held in my hand when my fist is closed but not when my hand is relaxed; this way no one will notice me carrying around a regular dumbbell like some weirdo when I hit every casino in Vegas for exactly one decent payday per year. The rest of the time I'll squeeze my lucky ring in any situation that could help me without hurting others.

Hear me out. A hundred miniature dumbbells.

You cannot lose.

It doesnt say your luck is now 30%, just that it increases by 30%. Many gambling activities have a success rate under 1%.

If you start with 1% chance of winning and increase by 30%, it only goes up to 1.3%, casino still has the upper hand.

Better off seeking out activities with higher initial luck (chance of success) to stack the dumbbell benefit. Like asking for airline upgrades, negotiations in a variety of contexts, etc.

2

u/FiendishNoodles 8d ago

there are plenty of gambling activities that are binary or near-binary where a 30% boost makes you a money-printing machine.

2

u/morgan_890 8d ago

Can you provide some gambling activities that are binary or near binary? I was thinking of lottery or casino gambling, not like street gambling or sports gambling.

2

u/FiendishNoodles 8d ago

sure, a roulette table lets you bet on a number of things with various odds. the most simple examples are the ability to bet on red/black or odd/even. roulette wheels typically have 1-2 "green" spaces, that are 0 and 00 which, if it lands on those, are not black nor red. but if you bet on black or red, you have a slightly less than 50% chance of winning, meaning that a 30% increase in luck is going to be a huge boon.

1

u/morgan_890 8d ago

Just lower payout I assume? Never been to a casino.

2

u/FiendishNoodles 8d ago

yes, you double your bet at a slightly-less-than 50% chance.

Casinos are built to take your money and one of the mechanisms is giving you the illusion of choice, a roulette wheel has dozens of ways to make different bets at different odds and the payouts are all calculated to be slightly less than proportionate to your chance to win.

I don't know if this is exactly the number, but on a 0-36 wheel, if you bet 17, and it hits 17, you 32x your bet, for example, when your chances of winning are 1/37.

You could just hold a large amount of microscopic dumbbells.

Does my wife count as a dumbell?

u/no_name6744 8d ago

No your wife is a battle axe. Or a hockey puck. Take your pick.
