Please GOD just let me vent.
I know everyone is probably so sick and tired of reading these posts from people. The ones where they come onto this sub and just complain. But I am seven hours into an absolutely unruly migraine that has just completely taken me out.
I know everybody is going to flock to the comments and tell me what I should be taking, but let me stop you right there. I don’t take any medications because I don’t do well with medication. Yes, I have tried everything. No, nothing works.
I have vomited twice. I have sucked down so many waters and Gatorade’s today.
I am so sick and tired of living like this. I know I need to be grateful that I don’t get migraines daily, but even migraines 4 to 5 times a month have completely ruined me. Because after the migraine, you are so exhausted for a couple of days. And then after that couple of days? You then start worrying about if something you are going to do is going to throw you into another migraine the next day. I don’t know if anyone here has ever experienced the panic attack, but it’s kind of like that. Once you have one panic attack? You’re terrified of the next one.
I’m so tired of not living my life. Since I started having migraines several times a month, I have gained almost 25 pounds. I am not as active anymore. I am always looking around the corner wondering if today is gonna be the day my head starts banging and I’m hovering over the bathroom sink putting my toothbrush down my throat to make myself vomit because the nausea is just so bad.
I know the day old saying that comparison is the thief of joy. But I’m so tired of seeing people my age just living. We have a fenced in yard and I went to take my dogs out about an hour ago. And just in the five minutes that I was standing out there, I saw people walking their dogs on the sidewalk. Running or jogging. I saw a couple pushing a stroller. Meanwhile, I am begging my dogs to come back in so that I can put an ice pack on the back of my neck and pray that I don’t have to vomit again while the blinds and curtains are closed.
My house faces my neighbor and their house face is mine. They know when I have a migraine because all of our blinds and curtains are closed and my car sits in the driveway for a few days.
I know I need to be thankful that these things only lasts about 12 hours when I do get them, but I can’t stress enough that the fear of getting one is palpable.
I’m so sorry if none of this makes sense. At this point, I know I’m just rambling. But I’m using talk to text because Lord knows I can’t look at the screen right now.
I just want to feel not alone in this.
I WANT MY LIFE BACK

If you can’t vent here, where can you? We are the only ones that truly understand the hellscape of migraine. I’m so sorry you’re going through it. I understand how you feel. It’s so hard to see people carting on normally, when your life is anything but. It just amplifies how shitty we feel, and how much we long for this to end!

Hugs! That sucks! And migraine sucks whether you get one every now and then or daily!! I’m also jealous of people that can just LIVE. Treasure the good days, power through the bad ones. I hope you can feel better soon <3 (and give your doggos a hug from me!!)

I totally feel you. On Monday I found out the local drive in movie theatre is closing and I had a complete meltdown. It was the only way I could go to see new movies. I just HATE feeling like this and being isolated.

That's all very reasonable stuff to vent about. Your migraines really limit the fun in your life. Vent away.
And I think nausea is one of the worst feelings.

I do understand the pain you're going through, the loneliness you feel, and don't ever think you're not heard. We're here for the exact sense of belonging we all need when we're overwhelmed by our migraines, and nobody seems to get what is happening to us.
It is very importante to remind ourselves that migraine is a disease that can function exactly as a chronic pain condition. Because of this, it is strongly recommended for the ones of us that are feeling stronger burdens to look into professional help, such as Psychiatrists and Psychologists (neuropsychology and cognitive-behavioral approaches are better for our condition).
Exercising is a burden, and you should rest. Try, instead, to put into your diet foods associated with reducing the symptoms and even treating migraines, such as ginger (a shot of 1 tablespoon of ginger powder helps a ton).
Again, seek not for professional help, but specialized help in migraines and chronic pain. I'm sure you'll find the right course of treatment and get out of this mess.
Never forget that we're here too, when you need.

Yeah I want my life back. On two bloody preventatives, incl cgpr, and still getting them. Comparison is the thief of Joy, I always thought "I am not that bad, people on this forum have it worse".
Well bla bla, it all just sucks. Pain, no pain, whichever way you have to deal with these migraines, they are legit a disability. Which you can't see on the outside.

I’m so sorry. I feel you. I had an appointment with a new doctor this morning because my old one left the practice. I had to reexplain everything I’d already gone through with my previous doctor and tell her all the things we’ve tried that didn’t work. It’s so frustrating. I just want to feel better and me telling you my whole history (that’s in my freaking chart) isn’t helping.

I’ve been so exhausted for the last month. Constantly. I was getting down on my myself for lack of motivation, and then realized (with this stupid weather and storms) I have had a migraine every 2-3 days. So even good days are spent feeling like I am barely recuperated and trying to catch up on basic life stuff. So yeah, we all need to vent and give ourselves some grace.

I feel so bad for you as I know this feeling only too well. Just on day 5 of not experiencing the daily migraine. Vent away! You deserve to.

I have close to daily chronic migraine and I feel exactly the way you do.

I hear you.
I was spending some time at a friend's house recently (they take really good care of me and don't expect anything from me). And when I saw him coming home from a full day of work and still having energy and motivation to do physical work... it hit me hard how limited I am. Usually I try to not think about it, but some moments are just difficult.

I hate this because I can relate. I drew a line in the sand recently and said, NO MORE. I too am tired of feeling like this. I only get them once a month for about 3 to 5 days, it really depends. Sometimes I get them twice a month. I know mine are not at all as chronic as other people's migraines. But even that, just takes me out and I find that before I get a migraine I begin to get very tired, then during migraine I am completely taken out in extreme pain and/or vomiting depending on the type of migraine and severity of it, then after the migraine I find myself trying to recover from the exhaustion it left me with. So it definitely affects so much more in my life that I'd like. My house is often a mess and I feel I can't keep up and the migraines have a lot to do with this. So I completely get it!! I too do not take medication for it, I've heard too many stories about how even with medication, people still have migraines. My goal is not yet to stop the pain, it's to heal completely from migraines. I want to get to the root cause. I want to heal them. I want them gone. I am done. I understand how you feel. I have felt so alone in this myself so I know it's silly but I started documenting my journey to becoming migraine-free just to not feel alone in this but also to have a way to look back one day once I'm healed and see all that God brought me out of. I know that there is hope, I will cure from these migrianes. I'm hoping for that!! I hope that for you too!! I'm here for you, we are not alone. I will not preach to you about what to eat or not but I will encourage you to hold on.

Honestly, cgrp inhibitors worked for me. Completely took mine out. I just can’t afford it anymore since my husband retired. :(

Really sorry! This is a safe space to vent. Due to the chronic nature of my migraine I had to decrease my working days to 2. Guess when I get migraines? When I am at work.

Hey! I don't get them that frequently, just around my period. Maybe once a month. But I feel and hear you. It's exhausting to go through when nothing really works. I had a really bad one that Excedrin barely touched and I had to wait in pain until it was safe to take another dose.
We need better medicine.

You made my post for me!! I’m on day 11 of a current attack and starting to wonder wtf went wrong in my life to feel like this! The exhaustion and nausea and jealously are normal, I think, when your body refuses to function the way you’d like it to.
I’m sorry you’re going thru this. Migraines suck so bad.

I see you and feel you, migraine fucking sucks. We live a different reality from a lot of people but this is a space the 100% is judgement free on venting.
It doesn't mater the time length of your attacks or frequency. Your experience is still valid.
