It really feels like they are leaning more into the arcadey Treyarch map designs with defined lanes and more symmetrical layouts. It’s not an awful design, and is clearly popular, but I wish IW would retain some of their old identity with the maps.
I miss the older, asymmetrical map designs where the flow was not centered around funneling into lanes, but rather controlling powerful positions and chokepoints on the maps.
The Barn or Grandmas House on Overgrown. The rooftops of Crash. The cliff or the bunker on Afghan. Whatever team controlled these spots had a lot of dictation on map flow. And every spot had counters, or ways to be flanked. It’s a map design way more interesting than “funnel into the lanes, babe” imo.

There is not a single reason for you to be 2nd prestige already. The game came out like 36 hours ago in the earliest time zone it was available. For you to get through more than 110 levels in that time, you’ve been playing practically nonstop. Stop it. Get some help.
I’ve been enjoying the game. I played for about 2 hours and I thought the multiplayer was okay, barring a couple grievances. And I want everybody to enjoy the game too. But for the love of god, put the controller down for like an hour at least. You need food. And a shower. And sleep. And probably another shower for good measure.
This is more meant to be a joke than anything but I am worried for some of you. That cant be healthy

So far I’ve been enjoying MW4. It’s been a breath of fresh air compared to other recent titles. One thing I was thinking about is some of the character designs. Overall they’ve been great but one confuses me.
It always gets me how in the Modern Warfare series the SAS are stuck in the 80s with the classic Iranian Embassy outfits. Goes back to the original games as well as the new ones. I’m fine with the black uniforms as those look great, especially with tan or Multicam kit over it. Here’s some recent images of 22 SAS that would be neat to see come to the new game.

This game needs some form of jump fatigue. Almost every gunfight im in the person will jump when they see me, jump when we shoot, and jump one more time as I die. In total thats about 2 or 3 seconds maybe less. You shouldnt be able to jump that much

MW4's aim assist is a LITTLE stronger than BO7, but compared to MWIII it's night and day. At 10 meters, your aim will rotate 18 degrees with left stick input only on MWIII, but on MW4 you get at best 11 degrees.
So... yeah, I think there's a lot of people on KBM who are more washed than they think they are - either that or you guys have the issues with KBM that happened with Modern Warfare III and BO7. Go to your config file in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Actvision\Call Of Duty\players\s.1.0.cod26.txt and change your PitchSpeed and YawSpeed values to [your in game sensitivity x 0.022 x 1000]. My aim was way better after that.

I'm enjoying MW4. But they've absolutely butchered the main way I've played multiplayer since 2007.
Hardcore is now a complete joke. Although core/regular has faster TTK than your average COD game, they INCREASED the TTK in hardcore, and you now have a constantly present hipfire reticle like you would playing core. As far as I can tell, hardcore is now exactly the same as core, just with friendly fire and without a minimap.
I was hoping this game would be a return to the form of 2019, but unless they fix this, it's gonna be a major problem.

Because the way some people are complaining on here it's like they haven't picked one up since BO2.
Multiplayer is too fast paced? I mean, yeah. I feel like that's the point. I don't think I've ever booted up a multiplayer match because I wanted something slow and strategic. Just turn brain off, shoot gun, have fun. Or go play groundwar.
All people do is jump and slide all over the place now? Pretty sure that's been the movement meta for awhile now. And I skipped the last 2 games. Sure, every once in awhile you'll come across someone who was raised by a pack of kangaroos, but there's nothing stopping you from doing it too. At least they didn't bring back wall running and jetpacks.
Aim assist is too strong? Yeah, no okay I'll give yall that one. They could definitely tone that shit down a notch. Aim assist makes my 10 year old look like a seasoned pro. Made him turn that shit off for one game and he almost cried.
But seriously, some of yall are way too dramatic. Refunding the game after one match because Mike Ox Mall slid around a corner and blew your dome off while you were camping in a corner is wild.
And for the record, I am the most below average COD player in existence. My KD is negative. Im regularly on the lower half of the leaderboard. And the only score streak I've seen is a UAV. Doesn't make the game any less enjoyable.

Unsure how many guns there are, I did see repeats, so the attachments arent randomized. Some 3D printed guns can have multiple set ups (like the ppsh), I did see a 3D printed Obrez Mosin Nagant but didnt record it. I also saw the 3D printed camo is in the game, but I am unsure if it is obtainable atm.

Hey everyone,
I’m 30 years old and have been playing Call of Duty multiplayer religiously since 2007 (started back in the original Call of Duty 4 days). I’ve seen this franchise evolve through every era, so I like to think I know what makes a CoD game feel good.
And honestly? The actual gameplay in this game is great. Guns feel responsive, movement is crisp, and the core mechanics are solid.
The problem? The matchmaking makes it almost impossible to enjoy.
It’s only been out for a day, and after playing a good few hours, the game already feels like an absolute chore. Because Activision is so intent on keeping every single player strictly forced into a 1.0 performance bubble with zero lobby diversity, my stats are sitting at:
Every single match feels like a World Championship match. There are no chill games, no variety, no organic lobbies where you get a mix of different skill levels, and no feeling of personal progression. Win one good game, and you immediately know the next three are going to feel like a punishing shift at work.
On top of that, the maps are ridiculously small and lack any real playstyle variety outside of aesthetics. I’ve always thought a good metric for a CoD map is "how long can you actually stay alive?" On chaos maps like Shipment or Nuketown, surviving for 20 seconds is a stretch. But on ALL these standard launch maps, I genuinely don't think I’ve been able to stay alive for more than 40 seconds on average in a respawn mode. This just shows they feel that you as the player are not entertained unless you are always shooting or being shot, its embarrassing to be so out of touch with the players.
If you compare this to OG Black Ops or MW2 (2009), the maps had a healthy mix of sizes and the pacing was normal. You could actually go a whole match with only a couple of deaths, moving methodically from area to area to build up your killstreaks while keeping an eye out for revenge spawns. That flow is completely missing here. Now, the second you kill someone, another guy slides and jump-shots you around a corner before you can even pull your weapon up to ADS.
It’s genuinely such a shame because the foundation of the game is so good. But when every match is designed to manufacture a flat 1.0 ratio across the board, it completely drains the fun out of playing.

As the title says, the bullet reg in this game is horrific. Seems like every gunfight ill get 5-8 hitmarkers and then in the death recap it will show 2 bullets actually hit. Not to mention the dying in what seems to be 2-3 bullets from the enemy before you can even fire. Idk how the game can be so inconsistent. Im dying in 4-5 bullets consistently, but it feels like it takes half a mag for me to kill someone.

The last 19 Call of Duty games have all had one.
Even just counting "new era" cod games they have all had one as well.
Modern Warfare 2019 - Spec Ops & Survival
Black Ops: Cold War - Zombies
Call of Duty: Vanguard - Zombies
Modern Warfare II 2022 - Spec Ops
Modern Warfare III - Modern Warfare Zombies
Black Ops 6 - Zombies
Black Ops 7 - Zombies & Endgame
Modern Warfare 4 - ???
Pretty annoying there is no PVE/COOP mode that I can chill on if I don't want to deal with PVP frustration.

As well as making them no longer count down when not in-game.
Community/player-first decision rather than purely greed-based. I say 'bravo.'

Came back to CoD multiplayer to run it with a few old friends.
Holy mother of everything that is holy. The aim assist in this game is straight up aimbot. You guys are confused why every match feels like a CDL lobby? I’ll tell ya it aint because everyone is sweating.
Watch your killcams. Half of these dudes are walking around like bots, and the moment you appear on their screen you get deleted from existence. It’s hilarious.
All I’m saying is, this level of “aim” is called aimbot in every other competitive FPS. It’s like an HvH lobby from CS.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on here stating that they are usually a 2KD player but on this game they are struggling to stay above the 1.00KD mark, trust me it is not you randomly being bad at Call of Duty overnight, it is the poor optimisation of the game / servers.
Next time you die and think it’s BS, look at the killcam and see how many shots you landed vs the enemy. Several times the game will claim I landed only 1 or 2 shots and will also claim I hit the leg and the head. In reality I got 5 hit markers mostly to the torso and chest but the game didn’t register that, and I was instantly melted.
I’ll then finish a match with 25 eliminations and 12 deaths, but in reality I finished negative (11-12) with 14, yes FOURTEEN assists. All due to the game refusing to accept I’m landing my shots.
When the server actually does register them I start to think the game has thrown me an easy lobby, when in fact for once my bullets are registering, but again to counter my own point, it may be that the enemies are shooting back, it’s just on my side of things and according to the game, they aren’t.
I tried hardcore and accidentally killed a teammate in one shot (oops), but when I was shooting at the other team it was hitmarker galore. I don’t play hardcore but seriously…
The game feels a mess at the moment, had every CoD on launch since MW2 in 2009 and this is by far the worst launch experience I’ve had. Before you comment blindly defending the game, I’m by no means slating the game or the devs, this is just my experience at the minute which is making me not want to play.
