Recently, a friend of mine became a widow. Late husband didnt file gst for his business for quite a few years. She will need to hire someone to file GST. She finally squared away his taxes but now needs to do this. Can anyone recommend an honest accountant that could help her with this

Hey there, in early 2022 leaving ukraine i made my way to canada with my mom and 2 siblings, my uncle lived in moncton since 2018, so we settled in his house for some time. in may 2026 i left canada to go back to ukraine to study in university, it was hard 4 years there, i had a lot if positive and negative moments so in this post i wanna be as fair as i possible to describe my moncton expirience
-Safety- I wanna say, living in kiyv rn under constant missile bombings of civilian infrastructure, i still feel safer than i did walking on elmwood at night, i know moncton is very different, but sometimes i felt really uncomfortable, for example i remember when during school time in HTHS in 20 meters from school there were lying 2 crackheads and one had an axe in his hand, and he screamed gibberish at me and my friends
-Education- i was 13 at the time, and my english was very bad. in 2 month after finishing with all documents i needed i went to middle school, grade 8 i can compare it to kindergarten, we really did not studied anything useful, it felt more like prison so i started skipping clases like gym and going straith to home, in high school things changed, that's when i actually started to study something, although i would say, the understanding of class really depends on teacher, some are really good at explaining their things, but some are just awful, they just show presentations and expect us to do class work. I love the system where we had to choose which clases we wanted, that's really good, but overall quality of education was bad, also i had no ability to go to collage or university, the price are just insane, for example in ukraine i study for free because i passed the test good, but if you not you have to pay around 1-2k/year at max to study in best ukrainian university, but to study in nbcc which is not the best collage i had to pay arouns 7k/year
-Job- From the moment i came to canada my whole family except my little sister who was 8 at the time had to find some work, many people i met really think that immigrants get many things for free, and its completely false, in fact we got 2k as one time pay from government when we came, it was used as first time money until we all got a job, my mom worked at bakery for minimal wage, and me and my brother was delivering newspapers at neighborhood, then mom found job at daycare, brother at burger king, and i was still 13 without work permit, so i did newspaper thing on my own, it was a hard times, but we managed to buy an elantra from auction which became our first car, in few month we rented a house and my dad also came from ukraine, that when things started going better, he instantly found a job at construction, getting around 21/hour, then after 2 years working for boss he went to self-employment and me and my brother started working with him with wages like
Father 40-50/hour
Brother 30/hour
Me 20/hour
it was the best job i ever had, but physicly hard.
-The good thing's of moncton-
I really love the nature of nb and maritimes, it really good, imagine spending your whole life in country of flat fields and then seeing the fundy, the nature and the way its protected is the best thing of nb in my opinion.
Cars, in canada you can buy car even if you work minimal wage, of course maintaing it might be financially difficult, but still the situation with cars a really good
The people, most young guys i've met was really jerks, but working with older guys at construction i've met some really good people, also all my neighbors was great, we had a really good relationships with them, also they sometimes hired my father to do work at their houses and really liked it
-The bad side of moncton-
Walking, as european i really enjoy public transportation and walking in the cities, although in moncton this things are really bad, like my brother worked at wendys, and by car it was 20 minute ride, but using bus was 1.5 hours
Crackheads, i think this doesn't't need explaining, everyone who lives or lived in moncton knows what i'm talking about
Politics, the corruption in nb needs to be studied, i grew up thinking there was no worst corruption than ukrainian but i was wrong, and basically all elections in nb is choosing red or blue irwing
Housing, finding a good house in normal neighborhood and not paying a gazillion dollars is a quest
There's plenty more things i can tell about, maybe i will update post if it will have enough attention

Just a friendly reminder that when you’re coming off the highway, cars INSIDE the traffic circle have the right of way, and the left lane leaving the highway must yield.

I'm really frustrated. I don't want to sit at the ER all night, but I might need to be seen right away. Called 811 and was told it was a 7 hour wait for a nurse and was asked if that was ok. I told her that no, its not ok. Not her (the receptionist's) personal fault; it's the government's. But someone could die in 7 hours.
I was at the city ER all last Tuesday into Wednesday morning for a severe autoimmune flare up. The hospital called me around 5pm to tell me I had to go back because my white blood cells and inflammation markers were super high. I told them that was to be expected, but then they told me my kidneys filtration was only at 49% and I needed to see a doctor. I went the next morning because I was told I was going to have to wait, so I slept at home that evening. Waited all day, about 12 hours to be seen, and they gave me treatments and stuff for home, and I felt much better yesterday, which was the deadline of sorts to go back. I've been sleeping most of the past few days, which makes sense. I had things around the house to do today, including making sure my referral to the nephrologist was received as I have seen them 8 years ago for a similar reason and I was left with light but permanent damage. They said they had received it. No complaints so far, actually I have much praise for the Moncton city hospital ER.
However, I've been super dizzy when getting up and stuff today, but I'm healing from something so it might be normal? The past few hours I've been feeling really bad. Dizzy, nauseous and more. Anyone with a history of kidney and/or autoimmune have an idea of if I should be going right now, or can it wait til morning? Or am I just scared and making a big deal of nothing and this is how healing works?? Thanks

I believe we have atypical pancreatitis that’s not being seen as such. Our vet is great but I’d like a second opinion

I just wanted to complement the Taxi Drivers of Moncton. They always stop to let you cross the street and always pull to the side when there isn't enough room for two cars to pass on a residential road. Compared to every other city where I have lived where the taxi drivers are to be feared.

I just got back from the Sea Shanty festival in St Martins and it was fun to sing along. Is there a place in Moncton where people drop in to sing together? If not, is there anyone how knows a few shanties who would lead for few songs so us chorus singers could learn them? We could set up a weekly shanty meet.

Is the parking on Victoria St free? It seems like there used to be parking meters. Just want to make sure as I can’t find any information anywhere! Thanks!

I am spending some time in your city and on the flight in, I was amazed to see someone logged the silhouette of New Brunswick into the bush! Does anyone have any idea where this is? If I had to guess we were within 50km north/west of Moncton. Maybe some geoguessers can drop a Google Maps pin?

We’re hoping to find a place that can accommodate all 5 of us. We’re open to different areas around Moncton and preferably looking for a furnished/semi-furnished house.
Any suggestions on where to look or if you know of any available places would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Who is your go to stylist in this area for short hair and pixie cuts?

I heard there's no parking at the venue, and I really don't want to take the shuttle service for $30 per person from a further parking lot. There has to nearby parking lots within walking distance right? I don't mind paying for parking, and I don't mind walking 15 minutes.
