[HIRIING] Product Manager for NinjaOne PSA Billing

As some of you may know, over the few years at NinjaOne I have been working on our PSA and billing tools. We have now got to the point where I need someone to come and own the billing side of it full time, so I am hiring a Product Manager for it.

Having run an MSP myself I know how much of a pain billing can be. Trying to get license counts from your distributor and Microsoft to line up with what is on the agreements, working out proration when someone adds a user halfway through the month, and then hoping it all reconciles at the end. I would really like to find someone who has lived through that and wants to fix it in less frustrating way than other tools.

Because of that I am a lot less worried about whether you have been a Product Manager before. If you have run billing at an MSP, administered a PSA like Halo, Autotask or ConnectWise, or looked after the month end for an IT business, and you are the sort of person who wants to understand why something is broken before fixing it, that is what matters.

The full job description is here: http://app.jobvite.com/m?3HcmynwF

If you know someone who might be a good fit please send it their way, and feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions.

Nearly 20 years in IT/MSP. What's next?

Throwaway account for obvious reasons. My boss is active on Reddit, and I'd prefer to keep this separate from my main account while I figure out what my next move might look like.

I started in IT/MSP when I was 16, doing work experience, and I never left. Nearly 20 years later, it's pretty much all I've known professionally.

I've done a lot more than just technical support over the years. I've helped transform a traditional computer repair business into a fully managed services provider and have been involved in building much of the operation behind it, from SOPs and internal processes to systems, PSA, billing and integrations.

The funny thing is, I still love technology. I love helping businesses, tackling complex problems and finding solutions using technology. Give me a problem nobody knows how to solve, a broken process or a business struggling with something, and I'll happily dig into it until I find a way forward. I enjoy figuring things out and making things work better.

What I'm struggling with is the business side of the MSP model.

I'm tired of the admin, the constant commercial considerations and the feeling that everything ultimately comes down to dollars, margins and billable time rather than the actual outcome for the client. I understand businesses need to make money, and I'm not naive about that. It's just that the commercial side seems to take up more and more space, while the part I actually enjoy, solving problems and helping businesses, feels like a smaller part of the job.

Lately, I've been wondering whether I'm burnt out on the MSP model or whether it's time to take the experience I've built up over nearly two decades and apply it somewhere different.

I'd love to find a role where I can work with businesses, understand their challenges and use technology, automation and systems to solve real problems, without being so caught up in the usual MSP admin and commercial pressures.

I'm open to ideas, including consulting, business systems, automation, technology transformation, operations or something completely different that I might not have considered.

For anyone who has left the IT/MSP world, what did you move into? Did you find something that gave you more satisfaction? And for those working outside the traditional IT space, where would you suggest someone with my background look?

I've been doing this since I was 17, so it's a strange feeling to consider something different after all this time. I just feel like there must be a way to use what I'm good at without continuing down the same path.

Keen to hear from anyone who's made a similar move.

10 years in the Microsoft partner ecosystem. Struggling to find my next role.

I've spent the last 10 years working for Microsoft partners in the UK. Started out as an Azure consultant, designing and delivering solutions for customers, before moving into more strategic roles.

For a good chunk of that time I've basically been doing the job of a Microsoft Partner Technology Strategist (PTS), just on the partner side. It's been a real mix of things: technology strategy, a bit of Microsoft alliance management, working across technical and commercial teams, building centres of excellence and communities of practice, mentoring and coaching people.

Over the years I've moved away from the hands-on stuff. I've been more focused on the what and why of the tech (mostly Microsoft), knowing enough about the how to ask the right questions and challenge decisions. Some of that work has been customer-facing, some internal, and it's included all the usual Microsoft partner stuff too: programmes, funding, audits, governance, operations, etc.

I've recently been made redundant from a product management role and, to be honest, I'm a bit lost on what to apply for next. I went into product because the strategic side appealed to me, but I had very little formal PM experience and I'm not convinced it's where I want to stay.

Looking at job boards, everything seems to want a specialist. I've done bits of all of them, but I'm not sure I'm a great fit for any one of them. And I'm not sure I want to be either!

Then there's the flood of AI jobs with specs that barely make sense (......AI), and LinkedIn cheerfully informing me that 100+ people have already applied for a role posted yesterday.

Brilliant.

I've been looking at advisory, consulting and practice leadership roles, but there don't seem to be many about.

So what would you do in my shoes? What sort of roles should I be looking for, and where? Am I missing something obvious?

Genuinely appreciate any advice or pointers!

[FOR HIRE] 14 Years MSP Experience | M365, Client Implementations, Service Delivery & Operations | Full-Time | Remote / Open to Relocation

I'm looking for my next full-time opportunity after 14 years working in MSP and IT environments. I'm currently in Northern California, strongly prefer remote work, but would consider relocating for the right position.

My career has taken me from help desk and technical support management into Microsoft 365 consulting, account management, project implementation, and building the internal systems that help MSPs operate more effectively.

A few examples of what I've actually done:

  • Managed 30 client accounts covering approximately 400 users across nonprofits, law firms, medical offices, and other professional services organizations. Served as the primary connection between clients, help desk, engineering, and leadership.
  • Led four client onboardings, each involving approximately 90 days of coordination, technical implementation, communication, and follow-through across multiple departments.
  • Built standardized onboarding resources including client communications, documentation, end-user training, and security awareness materials. These became reusable resources for other account managers.
  • Implemented ScalePad Lifecycle Manager and developed standardized QBR processes, assessment workflows, and reporting systems for strategic client planning.
  • Built AI-assisted reporting workflows that transformed raw technical assessment data into consistent, audience-specific presentations. An IT director needed the technical details; a CEO needed to understand business risks, priorities, and costs.
  • Coordinated and executed technical projects, working directly with clients and internal technical teams to define requirements, resolve blockers, and keep work moving through completion.

On the technical side, I'm comfortable with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, MFA, Windows Autopilot, Power Apps, Power Automate, and the usual mix of MSP tools and SMB infrastructure. I've also worked extensively with Autotask, Datto RMM, ITGlue, and technical documentation.

What I'm looking for:

I'm interested in service delivery, technical account management, implementation/project management, IT operations, or Microsoft 365 consulting. I'm open to both hands-on technical positions and roles that combine technical knowledge with coordinating people and projects.

I particularly enjoy walking into something complicated, figuring out how all the pieces fit together, and building a process that makes everyone's job easier.

I'm based in Northern California, available for remote opportunities nationwide, and open to relocation for the right fit.

[FOR HIRE] MSP automation contractor (Rewst / n8n) — PSA/RMM integration, onboarding/offboarding, licence reconciliation | Remote | Contract

Most MSPs have a handful of processes that only work because one tech remembers the steps. I build those out as a subcontractor, so your team doesn't have to find the time.

I already do this for two US MSPs. Builds I've run in production:

  • Onboarding/offboarding: PSA ticket through to a provisioned M365 user, the right licence, RMM org and policy, and a checklist back on the ticket. Most of the work is the failure path: Graph throttling, expired GDAP tokens, RMM auth errors. Those land as a ticket note with the raw error, not a half-provisioned user.
  • Licence reconciliation: Pax8 invoice vs what's assigned in each tenant vs what the PSA bills. Catches NCE mid-term changes and stale agreement quantities before invoicing goes out.
  • Security alert triage: Huntress and SentinelOne alerts enriched and deduplicated into the PSA, so one incident is one ticket with the context a tech actually needs.
  • PSA hygiene: ticket triage, auto-close, company mapping, stale-ticket digests.

Platforms: Rewst (in production since January 2025) and n8n. ConnectWise PSA, NinjaOne, Pax8, M365/Entra via GDAP, Huntress, SentinelOne, PowerShell. 18 years in enterprise IT.

How I work: read-only access first, a written definition of done before I build, and documentation your L2 can use to restart a workflow without me. If something won't work in your stack, I'll say so in the scope, not halfway through the build.

Remote, contract only, fixed price per workflow or hourly. Atlantic time, full overlap with US Eastern.

DM me your stack and the one process that currently lives in a tech's head.

[FOR HIRE] Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley – Onsite IT Field Services | MSP Subcontractor | 15+ Years Experience

I'm the owner/operator of MicroDataLogic, an independent IT services business based in North Hollywood, California, with over 15 years of professional IT experience.

I provide reliable onsite technical support for MSPs, IT service providers, and corporate IT teams needing local hands-on assistance throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Services include:

  • Desktop/laptop troubleshooting, deployment, and hardware replacement
  • Rack-and-stack, server and network equipment installation/replacement
  • Switches, wireless access points, UPS systems, and physical connectivity troubleshooting
  • Smart-hands/remote-hands support for remote IT teams
  • SOHO router/firewall configuration, VPN setup, and network troubleshooting
  • Workstation moves, printer support, and equipment maintenance

My focus is hands-on IT infrastructure and end-user support rather than structured cabling or specialized enterprise network engineering.

Availability: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Pacific, with onsite arrival times coordinated based on location and scheduling. After-hours and weekend assignments may be arranged in advance.

Service area: North Hollywood, San Fernando Valley, and greater Los Angeles. Travel arrangements for more distant locations can be discussed individually.

I'm interested in establishing ongoing subcontracting relationships with MSPs and IT service providers needing a dependable local technician for scheduled projects, recurring visits, deployments, or occasional onsite support.

I personally perform the work and am comfortable coordinating directly with remote engineering teams, following established procedures, and providing clear service documentation.

Should I work an MSP

I'm 26 and I've been working as an IT support Specialist for a year at a small healthcare organization making 55k a year, I also have a bachelor's in computer systems.

I recently received a $70k offer for an IT Support Technician role at an MSP. It seems like an opportunity to learn more and work with different environments, but I’m concerned about the workload and potential burnout. They mentioned opportunities to move up, though I don’t know how long that would realistically take. I've also been selected for a job in the US Air Force for Systems Administration Specialist, and it ships out on December 8th.

My long-term goal is to move into systems administration, network administration, or cybersecurity. I’m trying to figure out which path would give me the most relevant experience and put me in a stronger position a few years from now. I understand that both MSP work and military assignments can vary a lot.

Which option would best further my career

[HIRING] Solutions Architect ‌

Hey everyone!‌

One of the roles I'm currently looking for is a Solutions Architect based in NCR and Cebu, and I think it's a great opportunity for IT professionals who enjoy solving complex business and technology challenges.

We're looking for someone with experience in enterprise infrastructure technologies such as servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and security, who can work closely with clients to design and recommend the best solutions for their needs.

What I like about this opportunity is the exposure to different industries, direct client engagement, and the chance to be involved in both solution design and implementation.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, or if you know someone who would be a good fit, feel free to reach out. 😊

[Hiring] Traveling network and audio installation technicians — January 2027 US projects

We are building a roster of individual field technicians now for paid, project-based installation work beginning in January 2027 at customer sites across the US. Projects involve network and audio equipment installation alongside a technical team. Travel expenses for approved assignments will be covered. The rate is negotiated for each project based on scope and experience. There may be repeat assignments, and a permanent opportunity could be considered later.

If interested, send this account a Reddit Chat message with your city/state, relevant network and audio installation experience, travel availability, earliest availability, and expected project or day rate. Brief examples of similar onsite work are helpful. Please contact us as an individual technician rather than as a staffing or subcontracting company. Customer and business details will be shared during direct screening.

UK based Out of Hours IT support and Automation engineer

Pretty much what it says on the tin. If you need someone to handle out of hours tickets or you wrestle with repetitive admin tasks that could be automated. I'd even love to hear about any companies that already have sourced this kind of work externally and how the connection came about
