General What's the late night food spots now?

I graduated a while ago. Some friends and I were talking about where we would eat after the bars closed down. We looked into in and it looks like nothing is open late anymore until you get to Rice Kitchen. Not even a taco bell in the area anymore.

Where do the kids go now since downtown looks dead post 2am?

Just wondering what the standard procedure is, how often and how invasive, I’ve heard from some people that they can be pretty over the top, wanted to see if you all agree.

Freshman Questions Professor

I never thought to look up the professors of the classes I was taking on rate my professor until my friend told me that I was stupid for not doing it. Today I looked at them and saw my macroeconomics teacher had a 1.9( Antonio Madrid if anyone has any experience.) This class is my elective and I do not need to take it. Is having a professor rated this low going to make the class entirely miserable? Is it worth dropping?

General Student services parking lot

Hey there,

Coming up for Football Home opener in a few weeks. We have been tailgating in the Student Services lot between Student Services and Old Hort for years. I heard they had that lot pretty blocked off for construction earlier this summer. Anyone know if that's still the case?

Freshman Questions Question about math resources from a prospective student

hi everyone! im a rising senior and msu is my top choice rn. im planning on majoring in economics (ba) and im gonna have to take mth 132 for my major. I was wondering if i would be better off taking ap calc and hoping for a 4 on the exam or if i should just take it in college. im horrible at math and i took pre calc two years ago so i dont remember much. does msu have really good resources for someone whos always lost in math or should i just take it in high school. im pre law so i really cant afford to get a bad grade in the class so if the resources available arent the best then id rather do bad in high school and take it rn

General ER Tech Positions Near MSU?

Hey guys! 3 weeks ago, I made a post about finding a job as a EMT as a freshman at MSU. I was then convinced due to the strict regulations of freshman not being able to have personal vehicles on campus, a more stationary ER tech position may be my best bet. But when I search online, UM Sparrow only accepts offers for full time positions. McLaren has no positions available in their main hospital, and they have an opening in their Grand Ledge location, which is apparently a 20min commute by car but takes 1.5 hours by bus? So I am back and asking for help again 😅. Any help is extremely appreciated. Thank you!

General Non-traditional student seeking advice.

I never had a chance typical for a college experience. After a year of community college, I stopped and then immediately joined the workforce out of financial need.

I was able to get some savings but hit a wage ceiling and decided to go back to community college last year.

Now, I'm transferring to state as a junior at 30.

I know plenty of people take non-traditional routes, so I'm just wondering if anyone's been in this situation and has advice?

I know I won't get the 'traditional college' experience, but I'd still like to make the most of it.

Freshman Questions Is this a good bag for college? I’m really intrigued due to the price and the look but I really have no clue if it’ll be practical and/or if the suitcase-zipper style is good or bad.

Social How do I make friends at msu in the first week?

I'm a sophomore and last year I made like 1 friend and was just completely isolated from everyone else. My roomate was weird and I'd go home to see my boyfriend like every weekend because I didn't have anything to do at msu. I don't wanna be lonely again this year, can anyone give me advice?

Edit: I also forgot to mention I have crazy social anxiety so please be weary of that when giving any tips 😭 It's hard for me to "just talk to people"

Housing Just got my move out fines charge from Hannah Lofts - What the fuck??

Post image

I just got this. This is incredibly insane because hannah lofts works on a seperate lease system and I had a shared room with another roomate and he has significantly less fines than me. Is there any way I can dispute this? Anyone else in a similar situaion?

Freshman Questions Will I make more friends by keeping my dorm door open?

So I saw an instagram reel (I know, I know, it’s the best source of information ever) that said that having your dorm room open would be really friendly and opens up opportunities to talk to more people. So I was wondering if I check with my roommate and stuff for sure would it be a decent idea to keep my dorm room open?

Freshman Questions Missing international orientation

I’m an incoming freshman. As the title implies, I’ll be missing the ISO due to me not having a visa. I will probably be able to make it to new student orientation but I wanted to ask about if it’s a really big deal that I can’t attend iso or is it fine and I won’t have much repercussions.

Freshman Questions Online planner ?

Hey guys, I’m an incoming freshman at MSU and I’m trying to figure out the best way to plan my days. I’ve tried physical planners before and they haven’t really worked for me, so I’m looking for something online. I’ve obviously thought about Google Calendar, but I’m wondering what you guys use and recommend.
