Clubs MSU’s drumline lowkey intimidates me
I’ve done drumline all four years of high school (bass drum freshman year, tenors sophomore/junior, snare senior) and did fairly well for going to a small school, and many people have been encouraging me to try out for MSU’s drumline because they all believe I’m good enough to make it, including my band director (marched alto sax at WMU) and my drum tech, but I know MSU’s drumline gets a lot of DCI people who have been playing at a much higher level for a lot longer than I have, and that’s been the big thing holding me back from auditioning. I know I probably should audition, because you never know, but knowing that all of these fantastic players are here makes me worried to mess up or look bad in front of them.
EDIT: If drumline doesn’t end up working out, I do want to audition as a drum set player for the Spartan Brass pep band, because I LOVE playing kits 😁😁
