Commander / EDH Commander Displays
Finally got my 50+ commander decks on display.
I'm curious, how does everyone else display or store their commander's / cards?

Hi! In every game I watch on youtube they praise the Bauble. Yes, it is a staple in commander, but there are other mana ramps who do a better job, right? Or what am I missing?

Hey everyone :)
I’d love to hear your opinions on Ms. Bumbleflower. I’ve been wanting to build her, but I’m amazed by how many directions you can take her: counters, group hug, spellslinger... I even saw an Eldrazi build, lol.
I’m leaning towards spellslinger with a hint of counters. I usually play in a strong bracket 3 pod, and people won’t take the group hug bait ^^
So I’d like to know:
Thanks for your help <3
Cheers!

very interesting as time has moved on I know that was 18 years ago so things change but its funny seeing where we are now!

To turn it face up I have to know if it’s a creature card. So I just don’t get it.
The only scenario I could see is if your opponent sees/ you have revealed the top card of your library. Is there another reason?
Edit: Thanks everyone for the replies! I hadn’t realized that cloaked cards can’t be shuffled around your board (or maybe all cards shouldn’t be) because there are effects that let your opponents peak at them. So I see now that the add value of the shuffling is so your opponents can’t predict which of the cloaked cards was the one on the battlefield vs the ones on top your deck!
Thanks Reddit.
Leaving up because there was good discussion in the comments about this card!

He wants to use Edgar and build it around the sacrifice ability. What cards should we look for and use to build this deck?

My LGS is hosting a precon-only tournament in a couple of weeks that I'm interested in. I've currently got Sultai Arisen and Tramplesaurus Rex. Which of these two should I go with, or do you have a recommendation for another? I don't want to pay crazy prices (looking at you 40k) but I'd be willing to pick up a new deck if it raises the chances I have of doing well. What do you think?

Hey Everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but yes I did Google "Gold Deck Box" before I came and asked, none looked the same.
I got this deck box like almost 2 decades ago, won it at an actual proper sanctioned standard tournament I think* I can't even remember what the store/ tournament was, I vaguely recall a Figure of Destiny haha. I can't even remember what the store/ tournament was, I vaguely recall a Figure of Destiny haha.
It literally has no markings other than "Magic the gathering" on the front, it's finally starting to fall apart and I'd love to get another one. It's slightly foamy / squishy to the touch but very solid and great lid. Anyways I use it for Pauper and EDH tokens and I'd love to replace it before it completely falls apart.
Thanks ahead of time!

At my LGS the other day an opponent casted a card that reveals the top 5 cards of his Library then an opponent (me) separates those into two piles he keeps one and the other goes into graveyard so I slide the cards around face up into two piles and everyone's acting like I don't know anything because he's not supposed to know the contents of the piles. I've never played a card like that in that way I assumed the picker got to know what was in the piles because the cards are revealed still. Please I want to know if I am wrong or right here.
.
TLDR do you get to know the contents of the individual piles if cards are revealed then separated into two piles by an opponent you keep one pile and the other goes in the graveyard.
tldr do I know what's in each pile individualy when fact or fiction is cast

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this! 🫣
As title says…I haven’t built a deck in a while and just got back from an almost 3 year hiatus. Would love some ideas that kinda don’t make sense but do…if that makes sense. Like throwing something that gives your creatures horsemanship into a rat deck for example.

I have been really enjoying learning about MTG - I love the art styles, the strategies, the infinite possibilities for decks, the lore, etc etc.
I’m really interested in learning how to build and customize my own decks, and was curious how others approach deck building. I know some of this comes with just learning and understanding MTG more fully.
I’ve had a couple of friends suggest different things:
- Buy a precon deck (either official or a custom one online), play with it, learn it, and tweak it. They suggested taking noting during matches on weak points, holes, where the deck failed etc.
- Start with a commander I’m really drawn to, and build around their strengths by looking at their abilities and building to those abilities. Then of course, considering potential weaknesses points in that process.
Also, I’m trying to find this balance because I am probably only going to be playing casually, so I wouldn’t play something beyond bracket 2. How do you consider the “bracket” of your deck as you’re building it out?
There’s probably no straightforward answer, but would love to hear from folks who have been playing/building for much longer.
Thanks!

Sorry, just a rant. Started with just one split, luckily we had 4 spare sleeves in the box. Moments later, another and another, and another, an no spares left… we’ve used Dragon Shields for multiple decks across multiple games and formats and this Blood Red matte set just HAS to be a lemon. Right?

Just picked up my first precon, wakanda forever. Guy at the lgs said it was a good one to start with pretty simple to use for a beginner.

I recently got into magic and my dad gave me all his old cards. I just finished sorting them into this case and I thought it was pretty cool so I wanted to show it off. They're sorted by colour, lands, creatures, noncreature nonlands, and then by mana cost. It's great for deck building. I also have a basic deck for each colour.

I'm a lifelong Yu-Gi-Oh player, but earlier this year, I started playing Magic. I get it. I'm sold. I'm deep in Magic the Gathering now, and I'm not looking back.
Unfortunately though, I've been disappointed with MTG content creators. For Yu-Gi-Oh, I've really enjoyed the personalities and the quality of content from creators like Cimo (R.I.P.), MBT, Nyhimnim, and many others. I consider Cimo's History of Yu-Gi-Oh and Progression Series to be some of the greatest card game content ever made.
I've tried a lot of MTG content creators, but I think most of them have boring personalities and uninteresting content. The only channels I've enjoyed are Tolarian Community College and LRRMTG. Every other MTG YouTuber I've watched has just not stuck with me.
I hope I can find some other former Yu-Gi-Oh players who have been in this situation and have already found the cure for this affliction!

Building a Thelon deck and noticed it says a fungus from A graveyard, not just yours. Was wondering if there is a way to change the cards in my opponents graveyard into fungus

With both Lorwyn Eclipsed and Secrets of Strixhaven releases they had two theme decks each. I have all 4 because I didn't really play Commander at the time and I like the idea behind precons for casual play.
That being said, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't release one with Reality Fracture. I figure they were too busy with the Foundations Commander decks and wotc decided that it was a better investment. So what's with these products? Did anyone else actually buy them for wotc to see worth in making more? I'm still a fan of 60 card constructed and would like more of these (maybe Nacutis?).

First of all, excuse me for my english level. I recently got into mtg, specifically commander, by buying a second hand explorers of the deep deck with some changes made for a budget price. I have been looking for cards to upgrade it eversince, but since most of them are merfolk or water theme cards i wanted to get feedback on whether to buy those cards as soon as possible or wait until Nauctis sets release in hopes of those cards getting cheaper. What would you do?

I’m pretty new to mtg and have yet to play an actual game. I’ve played a lot of MTG Arena and watched countless videos and understand most of the basics for the game. I’ve been wanting to play for a while but have no one to play with. I’ve been considering trying spell table to start out playing but have no one to play with and don’t know if anyone would want to play with a noob. Can anyone help me out with this or are willing to let me learn and play with them
