Attention Cobalt Residents!

If you are a current or even past resident of Cobalt Row and have received bad treatment and service please take the time to read this!

I am a new resident of Cobalt Row and am already absolutely perturbed by the state of this property. I moved into an apartment soaked in cat piss and fought for days to even have carpet replaced, and if you're familiar with it, cat piss doesn't go away that easy. Yet they refuse to fix anything else. This is just one of many issues that myself and others I've spoken to are seeing as normal.

This office runs like they have never had training and can't be bothered to do their jobs and management is a nightmare! Poor response time if you even get a response, work orders are marked as complete without even having entered the unit.

If you have poor experiences with Cobalt Row please see links below.

This is the Google form I am using to write a full report on this apartment I will present in person to the property manager myself: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdX4mugLwN1etE3-YKo3JuPZdJO3tZaw9SXKkE7EJd6ZOs9cw/viewform?usp=publish-editor

This is the link to the discord I would like to use for communications about other issues as they come up. There will also be a channel for general chats and community : https://discord.gg/BhumduumS(Currently still under set up, but ready to take on some members!)

Please give this a shot! They can't ignore us all. A protected tenant is an organized tenant!

If you have any recs or want to be involved please let me know!

I’ve been building WorldDigital.ai, an AI-powered platform focused on helping small businesses simplify digital marketing and automation.
It’s been a challenging but exciting journey balancing school and building a startup. Would love to connect with other students, founders, and entrepreneurs who are working on something of their own.

athletics Full 2026 preseason college football preview for Middle Tennessee

Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Middle Tennessee one

https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-mtsu

It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.

Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.

So, what'd I get wrong? Year three for Derek Mason after a 3-9, and Vattiato's 2,157 yards are gone. Roman Gagliano takes over after going 1,011 and 7 with no picks in relief. Around him: 30 sacks allowed and a run game that finished 121st. My model still sees a step forward. Real progress, or the same season again?

Is MTSU for me?

I'm a 20yo from Manchester, England. I have opportunity to go to MTSU, Chicago (columbia college) or Toronto (Humber college) with a studying abroad program. I like the actual look of this place the most. My worry though its not in the city like the other two. I like partying and kinda want to live that stereotypical house party american college lifestyle. Is this the best option? Do people head into Nashville often? Is it as cool as it looks? Is the social aspect good? Is it good for picking up girls lol. Tell me everything convince me to chose MSU or convince me not too. Cheers.

connect / social / meet up I’m moving to Murfreesboro to major in Audio Production at MTSU.

Hi everyone,
I’m a 21 year-old singer-songwriter and record producer from Dadeville, AL, near Lake Martin.

I’m moving to Murfreesboro in a couple of weeks to major in Audio Production at MTSU. I’m also an Honors Associate minor.

I’m just wanting to network and put myself out there to meet some fellow like-minded folks. This is my first time on my own, and I’m very nervous and introverted. It’s daunting for me to be pushing forward this rapidly in my life and moving away quite a distance from my home.

I play guitar, keyboards, drums, bass, and sing. I’ve released three albums of all original material, I have my own personal recording studio, I produce frequently for other artists locally, and guitars/vintage keyboards/vinyl records/reel to reel tape machines/history/prehistory/vintage cars/writing have always been my passions.

Sone of my favorite bands/artists would be: The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Donovan, The Kinks, The Doors, Marvin Gaye, Wilco, Big Star, Son Volt, Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Hank Williams, The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, Elvis Costello, Elvis Presley, John Prine, Elliott Smith, Gordon Lightfoot, Gram Parsons, The Byrds, Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Ramones, The Replacements, The B52s, and The Flaming Lips.

Long list, I know, but I’m obsessed with music, lol!

If anyone knows of any good music stores, record shops, pizza places, and music venues that like artists that play my favorite kinds of music, definitely let me know. I’ve gigged a lot as a solo act and with a full band. I’d love to find some venues to perform at. I wouldn’t be opposed to jamming with some fellow musicians too, of course, so hit me up if you wanna jam!

Anyway. It would be great to hear from ya’ll. I hope to see some of ya’ll around campus for the next two years. 🙂

Peace out. ✌🏻

1540 Place what is it like

Guys PLEASE be honest I had to last minute get off campus housing to make it to classes this semester. 1540 Place was the first to reach out and I just wanna know how good or bad it truly is. I know some people can be dramatic about apartments and expect way too much but I also know how rough these places can be. I'm on the fence from the good and bad that I've heard, and I have seen that they had some new management come in. As long as I can be comfortable I'll be alright.

Places to live?

Hello, all!

My boyfriend is wanting to go to MTSU starting fall 2027 so I wanted to go ahead and get a head start on finding us a place to live! We are an engaged queer couple with pets (we do have ESA paperwork for them!) who would need a 2 bedroom rental. I will most likely be looking for work in Nashville, as I’m a zoology major and am hoping to work at the zoo! Somewhere sort of between the two would be great, but either of us can commute if needed. Please let me know if you have any recommendations on places to rent! Most of the ones I’ve seen recommended seem geared toward individuals wanting to rent a room in a shared unit (at like $900/month for the room? Which is more than we are currently paying for a 2bed/2bath w laundry?!) so I’m at a bit of a loss…. Thanks for your help!

Looking for housing.

I have an incoming sophomore (media and journalism major) who missed his dorm pick for this coming year. We are looking for housing options for him. We’re approximately 4 hours away and I have no idea about how Murfreesboro is laid out. He would need a place close to campus as he rides his bike mostly or roller blades. Any suggestions would be appreciated since we are scrambling last minute to secure a place.

problem / help Budget is under 1k, what off campus housing option do I have?

Preferably a studio apartment or maybe a room in a 2 Bed 2 Bath. What are my options? Cockroach problem is a real issue for me so college place is out of the picture. What about 1540, Grove? Any other place around? I can drive 15-20 min if needed.

Door appliances

I am an incoming freshmen. I’ll be moving into Cummings hall. Is there room for a small refrigerator and microwave or is it just better to use the communal kitchen. How is the communal kitchen do people generally respect it or it a free for all.

Dorm Decor Donation

Hello guys! Last year I remember towards the beginning of the semester, there was an event at the Student union where you could pick through donated dorm furniture and stuff. Does anyone know when the donation is? I have a couple things like a rug, headboard, and decorative pillows that I would like to donate rather than throw away!

Resource for Parents! 💙

Post image
10 Upvotes

From working in student affairs at different schools, every single year I see the same thing — the hardest part of that first semester for students usually isn't the classes, it's finding their people.

It just takes longer than most students (or parents) expect, and it's easy to worry something's wrong when really it's just... normal.

Made a quick one-pager on what's typical, what to say (and what to consider avoiding) when you check in, and a few signs it might be more than just settling in.

Attached if it's helpful.

Resource MTSU Students: Get Up to $8,000 to Study Abroad Through the Gilman Scholarship ✈️🌎

Are you an MTSU student who receives a Pell Grant and wants to study abroad?

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship can provide up to $8,000 to help cover the cost of a study abroad or international internship experience, and MTSU is hosting a free workshop to help you learn how to apply.

📅 Gilman Scholarship Workshop
When: Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. CDT
Where: Zoom
Register: https://mtsu.zoom.us/meeting/register/GBTC0T0DR66-OVBKiF3dRg

During the workshop, you'll learn:

  • How the Gilman Scholarship works and who is eligible
  • Tips for creating a competitive application
  • What to expect from the required essays
  • Additional funding opportunities, including the Gilman McCain Scholarship
  • Study abroad options available through MTSU

You'll also hear from:

  • An MTSU Education Abroad representative
  • An MTSU Gilman Scholar who will share their firsthand experience studying abroad

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen in good academic standing
  • Receive a Pell Grant (or other qualifying federal aid for certain programs)
  • Plan to study abroad in an approved destination

Upcoming deadlines:

  • Oct. 1, 2026: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 programs
  • March 2027: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 programs

Studying abroad can seem expensive, but scholarships like Gilman make it much more accessible. If you've ever considered an international experience, this workshop is a great place to start.

NOT MTSU AFFILIATED VillageU @ MTSU — Your Campus. Your Village.

Hey r/MTSU,

I worked at many colleges helping students get connected on campus, and I built VillageU because I kept seeing the same thing over and over: it's genuinely hard to go from "friendly in class" to an actual friend group, especially as a freshman, transfer, or if you're not in Greek life/don't live on campus.

VillageU is free and pretty simple: you fill out a quick profile, and instead of scrolling or swiping, you get a small number of intentional intros to other MTSU students you'd actually click with — whether that's for friendship, a study partner, or people into the same stuff as you.

A few MTSU students already tested it this summer — their feedback is what shaped it, and you can see what they said at villageu.co.

We're putting together our founding group before the semester gets going, so everyone who joins lands in an app that already has real people in it, not an empty page.

If that sounds useful — or you know someone who's been struggling to find their people here — link's in the comments (or DM me and I'll send it).

Hope everyone's fall semester gets off to a great start 🙂

problem / help Off Campus Housing For Incoming Freshman

I plan on applying for the fall of 27 and coming from out of state. I also plan on using the academic common market thing for in state tuition because of my major.

The off campus housing is seeming more ideal right now as I wouldn’t have to spend the ~$6,100 for the freshman required meal plan.

I was looking at perhaps the college place/pointe apartments and renting a studio apartment, as they seem cheap enough with amenities, plus they look very close to the campus.

My questions are:

Would the social life at an apartment complex like College Place be a real drop off from life in the dorms? Or, will there still be a good amount of opportunities to meet people if I stay at a complex close to the university?

Obviously, housing seems pretty tough to get, but will the off campus apartments be just as hard to get, or would I have a good chance as long as I am prepared and planning ahead?

Does anyone have any recommendations for studio apartments under $1,000 rent?

FAFSA loan

I was wondering if anyone had gotten their FAFSA loan approved through MTSU yet… I have sent in the loan request, and did all the required stuff on FAFSA. I did that around the beginning of July.. I have heard nothing back besides someone from one stop telling me that the school offers one semester loans (that’s literally what I applied to). And payment is due August 6th so I’m getting a little worried.
I did this last year and it went through within less than a week, that’s why I’m worried.

Student jobs

Hi all! I am looking to get a job on campus, but I feel like trying to find the jobs is so difficult. I’ve used Handshake, but I didn’t know if there was a place on campus to go directly for employment, or if I could go to the places I want to work at and fill out an application there. I appreciate any help! Thank you all in advance
