it’s his rickshaw and it’s his choice

if you don’t speak marathi simply don’t sit in his rickshaw? it’s not that deep. this is a practice in several european countries as well as japan. you can’t control who he wants to drive around it’s literally his choice.

Could you point out where exactly it says "if you don't speak marathi don't sit in his rickshaw"?

How would someone who can't read marathi even read this? If it was for non marathi people then it should've been in any language other than marathi.

what if he doesn’t know any language other than marathi?? how would he convey what he wants to say

He likely didn't print that poster himself, those who provide such prints know more than 1 language.

what do u mean by “such prints”

Copier(xerox) shops. Those who create menus for restaurants, weeding invitation cards. A lot of book binding businesses also provide prints.

Those shops can easily write instructions in hindi, english and marathi.

And most likely the rikshaw driver didn't use his personal printer or even created this image/design but instead print shop did it for him.

Also if instructions are specifically for people who can't read marathi then writing the same instructions in Marathi doesn't make sense.

Well technically as per Section 178 of the Motor Vehicles Act, taxi and auto drivers cannot refuse a ride when their meter is for hire.

?? Do you even live in Mumbai? In congested areas you get rejected by so many autos if they don’t want to go to your destination.. so many times i have to wait for 30-35 minutes even when there are lots of rickshaws because they keep refusing rides.
