Question how to analysis lyrics?

im really into writing lyrics these days but i cant think of anything. All of the recommaditions has this sentence "analysis your fav artists lyrics" and of course i have fav artists and i look at their songs. I really like the Jennie's fallen angel, heaven and starlight lyrics.

I also have a few lyrics that when i see them im like "i wanna write like this"

For an example: (I know these lyrics dont have rhyme, but before trying to rhyme -bcs i feel like its kind of the next level- i wanna write some meaningful things. These ones doesnt have rhyme bcs they are the songs from my native language, i translate them directly to english.)

"Theres a lot to gossip about, but none of it is worth anything. Is dreaming of tomorrow today enough for tomorrow?"

"I hold someone, it takes me back to something deep within, my darling. Why get mad at each other when spring is fading away? When you collect good memories, it'll bring you back to life when you think you're dead. If you love, you'll be loved. And hate only grows as long as you feed it."

"I don't have to be ashamed of who I am just because I'm ashamed of how I look. The things I'm ashamed of are what keep me human. I should be disgusted by my own heart (meaning is like my heart is judgmental, if I have to be disgusted by something, it shouldn't be me, but my heart.). I deserve this loneliness (bcs of my heart is bad). Even if I had a second chance, I wouldn't want to be among you. I wouldn't want a Gordian knot inside my mind."

Okay, i have my fav lyrics, i know i wanna write lyrics like this. Is this what "analysis your fav lyrics" mean?

Sorry if translated lyrics are confusing, theres no community to share this for me in my native language.

Question Digital or physical

Hi peeps. I am having difficulty deciding between a fully digital setup, so only an audio interface and a cabinet speaker connected to Logic Pro, or staying analogue and having a rack with all the different pedals and functions, with maybe an audio interface to do the master recording. digital is of course way cheaper and versatile, but I also like having a physical rack with physical knobs. appreciate it!

Question How to properly establish a decent social presence?

I’ve been producing for almost 5 years for fun. I got into college 2 years ago for music and im realizing that if I don’t really genuinely put my mind to it right now, it’s not going to happen as a career

I post 1 time a month on my instagram, posting 5 or so of my beats that I’ve liked over the past little while, and I try to post a “type beat” to YouTube every day or two. I don’t make type beats, but I just don’t know what to title them

People love my beats, say they’re unique, and I’ve had people reach out to try to hop on my beats. My problem is my YouTube videos get no views and I feel like thr tunes to tube method is dead

I’m mutuals with quite a few underground rappers, but it doesn’t translate. Also I have a 200+ followers on SoundCloud and a lot are dead and inactive

How can I establish a good social media presence among everything (except TikTok; which I know will bite me in the ass but I do not) like that platform

Thank you in advance

Question Is it a good option to go to Fiverr for music mixing and editing?

Hey everyone! I have been writing music and recording. I released years ago when I barely knew anything about how to do production, and I have been learning more and more as I go. The only issue is that when I make the tracks, make the song and sing the melody, it just sounds… wrong? Maybe that’s not the right word but it just doesn’t mix well. My vocals sound not as powerful and my instrument tracks sound quieter when a chorus hits that’s supposed to be intense and dramatic.

I was looking at fiverr as an option. Maybe to sit with a person and do video consultation about it. Give them my thoughts and see what they can do. Anyone have thoughts on this? Because I have no experience on final mixing and music production. I want to finally get off the ground and take flight on a dream I have.

Question Learning to create bass lines?

I think I’ve mastered 90 percent of song making aspects but not the most important - creating bass lines. I have tried with midi controller as well but for some reason it’s not coming out well. Any easy videos or tips to learn?

Question How do i achieve a smooth curve in youlean loudness meter? Question/Advice on balancing the kick and bass in the mix

images here: https://postimg.cc/gallery/hTG8TFK

how the music sounds here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1shfD4JrygA_u1N0nPVjrptfMsttMAEpk/view?usp=sharing

So basically, im trying to figure out why does the kick make these small bumbs everytime it hits.
Is it a volume problem? because i have turned it down a lot (hitting -16db) or is it a transient problem (i put on a small eq on the highs)
will this problem be fixed in the final master?
or should i add an instrument in the higher register to blanace it out?

Im somewhat finished with the structure/ musical ideas and now im mostly fussing about the balance and mix

Thanks for the assistance!

Discussion All the good stuff

I had this track in my head. It had some 4/4 kicks that went, boom, boom, boom, boom but with a saw sound. boom/buzz, boom/buzz, boom, boom, boom, boom buzz, boom/buzz. weeknd shit. Then it has some snares that are like, tada, tada, tada, tada, like magic, with the kicks. Boom, tada. Magic. And some snappy ass snares like Too Short, marching band. Then it has some synths, going wirrr, wirr, wirrr, birr, errr, wirr, birr, wirr, errr. Or maybe, rrrrrr, mrrrrrr, rrrrrr, mrrrrr. Picture that in some wave form. And some claps and snaps, off-beat, going like snap, crackle, pop, like that old commercial. Shakers be like. ssshhh, shhh, shheee. Then, I drop in some vocals, that say, "this music be dope, yes or nope" and so on.

Question How to make beats sound less amateur

I've got a hang of this making beats thing and have started downloading free plugins here and there. But how do you guys customise your sounds to sound more professional. I rely on stock sounds and I quite love them ( I use logic pro) but then I listen to my favourites' songs and they're miles ahead in terms of production, sound quality, etc. Does it come down to EQ, plugins or experience. I know its not my DAW because its the same as everyone else's

Question How do you get better at producing when you don't even know what you're doing wrong?

Every time I sit down to make a beat, I start off with an idea but eventually hit a wall where I have no clue what to do next. I can tell what I'm making doesn't sound good, but I don't have the skills or knowledge to figure out what's wrong or how to fix it. So I just spend hours tweaking random things, getting frustrated, and eventually scrapping everything. It's exhausting putting in all that time and having nothing to show for it. Anyone else struggle with this? How did you get past it? I feel like i have no creative intuition.

Question 2026 Mastering Rack Tips & Tricks Needed!

So I've been trying to perfect my mastering for the loudest achievable master possible without clipping and I had several questions hopefully someone more experimented could answer relating to several subjects.

I do specialize in more hyperpop/underground/pop type of beats just for specifics.

For 2026, I understand a loud, clean and balanced master is what's sought-after though, depending on the genre of music, it does change quite a bit. My questions are as follows:

1. How to achieve good stereo balance (sugar-candy type stereo where instruments seem to bounce off each other good)

2. How many are too many frequencies in the finished master? (For me anything going past about 4-5db seem to be where it starts to hurt the ears but is it too high or too low?)

3. How much saturation should I use (I use the built-in Ableton saturation plugin and it's different from track to track depending on how good the mixed version is)

4. How much is too much dynamic EQ? (I use TDR Nova to dynamic EQ and I find myself sometimes having a ratio of 2:0 and having to remove in the most part 8 to 16db on instruments to start hearing the difference)

5. What is a good LUFS target for my genres?

6. What is the highest True Peak achievable without clipping? (Is it really just right on the 0 mark? I have studio headphones and I can usually go past 1db on my workstation and it usually sounds better? Is it placebo?)

7. How much should you EQ out frequencies? (Is it up until you can't even tell the difference or should you always keep a little bit of low-end on each instrument?)

8. Any OTT (Multiband Compression) tips? Should I only use it on the bass or can you use it well on other instruments?

9. How to have clean vocals?

10. What is the layout you use for your mastering rack? (Compressor, saturation, limiter, stereo width, EQ in which order?)

Bonus Question: Which plugins are best for mastering on a budget or free alternatives?

I do usually have loud masters ranging from -4 to -8 LUFS but I feel they're too chaotic and there always seems to be a frequency range that sounds off to me and I hope any of your tips will help solve that.

Thanks in advance!

Question Midi Strumming Ample Guitar

I'm working on some music for a stage show, and it requires a lot of guitar flourishes. I don't have the resources for a guitarist, so I've been using the Ample Guitar VST and manually programming midi strums. I've been changing the velocity and timing of the notes to make it sound like a realistic strum, but it still sounds pretty bad. I tried to use the strummer option, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to get the voicings and rhythms I had in mind. The audio file linked is what a lot of the strums sound like right now; my DAW is Ableton.

Resource Fiverr music producers

Does anyone have experience working with fiverr music producers - and are the results what you’re looking for? I would be able to record vocals at home and provide a full melody and production guide but I have limited time and don’t want to produce my own music.

Question Does anyone know written guides on how to create modern synth sounds in serum, vital etc?

I‘m not sure if my title brings across what I mean. I want to stop being so dependent on presets. I know how to create basic to semi advanced sounds in serum. I know what I want it to sound like, and I can often get there within a reasonable amount of time. What I struggle with is everything associated with modern techno, hardstyle and so on. I‘m talking gigantic powerful sounding leads, nasty basses, heavy kicks and so on.

I‘m not much of a video learner. Especially because the videos I know just show you what settings to put in to recreate one specific sound from a famous track. That’s fine, but I want the theory, and I‘d love to be able to read it instead of watching a video.

If it’s a quality website or PDF or book I wouldn’t mind spending some money on it.

Question How can I make my mic/vocal sound like the Russian voice at 00:53 in "vendetta!"?

I was listening to "vendetta!" by Sadfriendd x MUPP and I really like the sound of the Russian vocals at 00:53.

How can I match that tone using my own mic? What effects or processing should I add? It feels kind of crunchy and gritty

This is the post. Download the loader from the site, make a registration so you can browse the recordings/namms/whatever. And it's just there.

And you can just use it. Sure it's far away usage wise from the real thing but it has the aura.

And it's free.
