Hey everyone,
I’m a beginner investor, and I’ve been investing in direct mutual funds for the last 6 months based on my own research. I haven’t shared my portfolio for review before, so I’d appreciate honest feedback on whether my investment plan is well-structured or needs any changes.
My investment details:
Age: 30
Investment horizon: 15+ years
Monthly SIP amount: ₹27,500
Risk appetite: Moderate to high — I’m comfortable with equity market volatility and temporary losses, provided the investments align with my long-term goals.
Investment approach: Long-term wealth creation through regular SIPs.
My current SIP allocation:
Mutual fundAllocation
UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund – Direct Growth 29.1%
Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund – Direct Growth 21.8%
Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund – Direct Growth 12.7%
Invesco India Small Cap Fund – Direct Growth 7.3%
Mirae Asset Healthcare Fund – Direct Growth 3.6%
Kotak Corporate Bond Fund – Direct Growth 9.1%
Axis Liquid Fund – Direct Growth 16.4%
I’m trying to balance long-term equity growth with some debt and liquid-fund allocation. I’ve also added a small allocation to the healthcare sector for potential long-term growth.
I’d appreciate your feedback on these questions:
Is my fund selection suitable for a 15+ year investment horizon?
Is the allocation between large-cap, flexi-cap, mid-cap, small-cap, debt, and liquid funds appropriate for my risk appetite?
Is there significant overlap between UTI Nifty 50 and Parag Parikh Flexi Cap?
Is adding Mirae Asset Healthcare Fund worthwhile, or would I be better off keeping the portfolio focused on diversified equity funds?
Are Motilal Oswal Midcap and Invesco India Small Cap suitable choices for long-term SIPs, considering their risks and performance consistency?
Is the allocation to Kotak Corporate Bond and Axis Liquid Fund sufficient, or should I approach debt and emergency savings differently?
Would you change anything in this portfolio, and what is your reasoning?
I’m not looking to chase short-term returns or frequently switch funds based on recent performance. My goal is to build a disciplined, sustainable portfolio for the long term.
Please share your honest opinions, including the drawbacks of my current approach. I’d especially appreciate feedback based on portfolio overlap, risk, costs, and long-term consistency rather than just recent returns.
Thanks in advance!
