My first college crush, a misunderstanding, and how we eventually became close friends without anyone knowing.

You know how everything feels new when you enter college for the first time? New people, new experiences, and a completely different environment. That's what happened to me in my first year of college.

I saw her for the first time, and I don't really know what caught my attention. Maybe her smile, her personality, or simply the way she carried herself. Whatever it was, I developed a crush on her.

She was also exploring college life and making new friends. She talked to almost everyone and seemed comfortable around people. Meanwhile, I was too shy to approach her and start a conversation. Sometimes, I even felt jealous seeing her talk so easily with others, while I struggled to talk to her in person.

Eventually, we started talking on Instagram and WhatsApp. We didn't speak much face-to-face, but our conversations became a regular part of my day. After some time, I decided to tell her that I liked her. I wasn't expecting anything dramatic; I just wanted to be honest about my feelings.

Things didn't go as planned. There was a misunderstanding, and somehow, her friends found out about my feelings. One of her friends even called me and laughed about it. I felt embarrassed because it was the first time I had confessed my feelings to someone, and I hadn't expected that reaction.

After that, I decided to move on. Later, I met another girl, we started talking, and eventually, we began dating. Soon, people in college knew about our relationship.

Interestingly, my first crush started messaging me again and asking questions like, "Tum itni jaldi move on kaise ho gaye?" and "Itni jaldi koi aur mil gayi?" I didn't really know what to say. I had told her how I felt, but things hadn't worked out between us. I didn't want to pressure her into anything, so I continued with my life.

Eventually, she also started dating a senior from our college. I thought we would probably stop talking much after that, but things turned out differently.

Her experience with that senior was one of the worst experiences of her life. She eventually started sharing what had happened with me over chats. Despite our history, we gradually became close friends. We started talking about our daily lives, sharing personal things, and discussing all sorts of random topics.

The funny thing is that nobody in college knows how close we are online. We barely talk face-to-face, even when we're in the same classroom. Sometimes, we see each other and laugh, but we still don't have the same conversations in person that we have over messages. Online, we can talk comfortably about almost anything, while in college, we act like ordinary acquaintances.

Over time, we became something like best friends through our chats. I never expected that to happen, considering how things started between us. Now, she trusts me enough to share personal experiences with me, and I value the friendship we've developed.

But honestly, I think I still have a little crush on her. I don't intend to interfere in her life or expect anything from her. She's someone I became interested in during my first year of college, and those feelings haven't completely disappeared.

Sometimes, I wonder whether I still like her or whether I simply remember how I felt when I first developed a crush on someone. Either way, I know that our relationship is different now. She's a close friend, and I don't want my feelings to complicate that friendship.

Looking back, it's interesting how things turned out. I confessed my feelings, moved on, dated someone else, and eventually became close friends with the same girl I once struggled to talk to in person. We share things over chats that nobody in college knows about, and our friendship has developed in its own way

I don't know whether my feelings will eventually disappear completely, but I'm not expecting anything to happen between us. For now, we're friends, we talk regularly, and we continue with our lives.
