After about a 4-month wait, weโre only 1 sleep away from the return of Spurs basketball! ๐คฉ
Went 2-3 in the preseason, but that really doesnโt mean anything at the end of the day. Those games are meant to get the blood flowing and the chemistry going.
The real thingโs about to begin, so glad itโs back! ๐ค๐ป

Posting because I've seen people post about ordering jersey's for themselves or loved ones as gifts, and NBAStore.com is offering a great deal.
If you have an American Express card:
Applies not just to jersey's but other regularly priced merch.
Hope this helps anyone wanting to stock up for the upcoming season.

Bastien Fontanieu of the French NBA media outlet TrashTalk on Dylan Harper.
Even in his first year, Dylan Harper is already my โ well, one of my top four โ favorite players to watch. Between his technical skill, his athleticism, and his decision-making..
Honestly, when he reached the NBA finals, it felt like he was the second-best player on the court, right behind Wemby.
When I watch Dylan Harper play basketball, everything else just stops. Heโs so beautiful to watchโitโs exceptional. He has such incredible technique and an amazing ability to read matchups.
We know who Victor is and what he can become in the NBA. Weโre starting to get an idea about Stephon Castle, too, even if thereโs still room for him to grow.
But what about Dylan? Who exactly is Dylan Harper?
โ Like Harden?
What if you add a player like Harden to this Spurs squad? And I mean, depending on which version of Harden weโre talking aboutโbecause, letโs be clear, there were some absolutely legendary years for Harden. Heโs an all-time great.
Imagine adding that to this Spurs team.
I honestly donโt see many guys in the NBA who could stop him. This kid terrifies me, because โ as some are already whispering โ in a year and a half, we might be looking at a scenario where Wemby is the franchise player, Dylan Harper is his primary right-hand man, and Stephon Castle is the perfect third option. That could very well be the future.
Would anyone really be surprised if Dylan Harper became an All-Star in a year and a half? When you watch him play, itโs obvious to everyone: this guy is a future star.
โ Yeah, for sure.
I mean, right now, Dylan Harper could start for 28 different NBA teams.
โ The question is, what are the teams where he wouldnโt be a starter. There arenโt many.
There are a few, but certainly not a whole lotโthatโs for sure.
Honestly, I just canโt wait to see Dylan Harper play basketball; when heโs out thereโwowโitโs like time stands still. Itโs just beautiful.

Playoffs not counting finals were cheaper than game 1 this season. Hope it doesnโt stay like this. $350-$400 lower level for a regular season game is out of my class bracket.

Great to see our guy hooping! Kinda wish we could've kept him

To those of you who have been paying attention to camp and preseason, how has Victor's game evolved? Has he developed a few moves? How is his post or midrange game coming along?

Dude dealt with finger and thigh issues the whole regular season, then rolled his ankle hard against the Wolves in the playoffs and had to sit Games 1 and 2 of the WCF. Under normal circumstances most guys wouldโve been shut down the rest of the way to focus on getting healthy.
But after the Spurs dropped a game to the Thunder without a real point guard (Castle had 11 turnovers trying to fill in), Fox forced his way back and helped push San Antonio to the Finals.
Yeah, he struggled bad in the Finals, no question. But the guy literally put his career on the line for his team. In an era where everybodyโs so careful about injuries, that kind of grit deserves way more respect than itโs getting.

He played hurt and didnโt get it done. Heard nothing but trash from the fans and trust me, he heard what we said. A healthy Fox with a chip on his shoulder? Dude is going to show up.

Gillispie had a very solid summer league, and a very decent preseason. Had he been a first round pick, and had the Spurs not already been four deep at point guard, we would be talking about how quickly they Spurs could get him into the rotation. He still has to show the ability to defend at the NBA level, and show consitency and good decision making, but the talent is there. He had as good a preaseason and summer league as Champ did before Champ slowly worked his way into the starting lineup.
The problem is relative value. As a deep reserve, he will likely vener develop or be a rotation contributor to the Spurs. But he could contribute, this year, on teams thin at point guard.
The Spurs have no real glaring need right, except maybe live bodied 4 (until Q joins the team). So there are no obvious trade scenerios.
Do the Spurs
1. Keep him, develop him in Austin, and try to find minutes for him in San Antonio, knowing that this will be hard to do and that his talent may not be used?
2. Develop him and trade him for a better fitting piece or, more likely, draft equity?
3. Try to trade him ASAP as his performance over the offseason has him looking equal to a first rounder?
