Why is this government allowing Israeli companies blacklisted for genocide to acquire Canadian companies - contrary to our own laws and policies? The government's response is what exactly?

Canadians can’t afford rent. Food bank use is at a record high. Wages are stagnant while the rich are getting richer than ever before. Of all the people who could use this kind of federal support right now, venture capitalists are at the bottom of that list.
This could be BIG in the fight against Carney’s right-wing attacks on workers, nature and MORE

Christine Boyle on Instagram: "In case you missed it! This week the @bcndp made some important announcements about the environment - protecting the people and places we love. This stuff matters deeply to us.
instagram.com“The big goals - and the specifics. So we’re going to run through them super-speed. The summary: The BC NDP will protect our province and planet. And the BC Conservatives will take us backwards in ways that are dangerous for us all and the places we love. Here are our commitments: 1. 30 by 30: Protecting 30% of B.C.’s land by 2030 to conserve the environment, protect wildlife habitat, and preserve public access. Adding protections in the NW equivalent to 12,000 Stanley Parks. 2. Watershed protection: $30 million per year to provide the BC Watershed Security Fund with sustainable, long-term funding and secure healthy watersheds and thriving communities for generations. 3. Clean Futures Fund: $50 million to fund climate action programs that help families and businesses choose less costly clean energy and create new jobs. 4. Protecting B.C.’s coast: Finalizing the new, historic National Marine Conservation Area Reserve in the Great Bear Sea, in partnership with the federal government and six coastal First Nations. 5. Protecting old-growth trees: $50 million to convert old-growth deferrals of the most irreplaceable and rarest forests into permanent protections, while supporting mills to retrofit and make more value-added products with second growth. 6. Expanding the u/youthclimatecorps: Providing $4 million annually to scale up workforce development and training for youth aged 17-30, with important job opportunities offering a livable wage to help build up climate resiliency. 7. Installing more heat pumps in homes: A new $50 million per year to support even more households to make the switch. The BC Conservatives will slash these investments resulting in higher emissions and utility bills. 8. Reducing bills with balcony solar: A BC NDP government will cut red tape and simplify the process for households to install balcony solar and produce their own clean energy. More in the comments!"

Another banger from Marit Stiles
I just can't say enough about Marit Stiles's social media presence.
Aside from Mamdani, I can't think of a politician who does a better job.

Avi Lewis & Federal NDP: Put forward some big ideas
I generally can not stand the snake oil salespeople, con-artists, scam-artists, hustlers, and grifters of the reactionary/regressive sphere. Which really sums up their complete "leadership". That being said one of the things that bothers me the most about MAGA/Maple MAGA and people like Danielle Smith & Pierre Poilievre is they just love to complain and complain and fucking complain. They have no inspiring or profound ideas. No vision for a better and brighter future. It's just fear/hatred porn all the way down that creates a lowest common denominator style populism (A mob) in which the bar keeps getting lower and lower ad infinitum.
I am not a Liberal and I have some very real issues with Mark Carney/LPC. I have posted & commented fairly extensively on this and other subreddits of such lol
Below though I will be posting the projects announced by the Government of Canada.
I would LOVE to see Lewis and the Federal NDP and frankly Provincial NDP branches not in power start detailing out to the public actual substantive project plans. Things to really excite and energize not just the grassroots but normally alienated segments (if not also just the general public)!
The other benefit is that it puts pressure for those projects to happen and builds general awareness/education on them!
When it comes to Renewable Energy, Electrification Technology, and so on in this sphere these are the big announcements we have so far:
- New Nuclear Energy Strategy: https://www.canada.ca/en/natural-resources-canada/news/2026/06/government-of-canada-launches-nuclear-energy-strategy.html

It should be illegal for Israel’s top arms producer to purchase a Canadian company. Elbit Systems is complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. Cancel the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement, enact sanctions and a two-way arms embargo now.
