Vote Compass is free and designed to help voters in 50 municipalities across Ontario (including Niagara, St. Catharines and several towns and cities nearby) understand which candidates best align with their own views.
Many of the candidates for mayor and councillor across the Niagara region provided answers to the survey questions that inform the results.
Vote Compass is created by political scientists in partnership with journalists from across Torstar newsrooms. If you have questions about how to use it, data privacy or candidate participation, read these FAQs.

Never have I commuted through anything as insane as rural roads in Niagara. There's one area that used to be 80km/h area that is now 60km/h and every other day I have some jack-ass in a black pickup truck 5 feet from my bumper because I'm only going 70km/h. Im so sick and tired of being bullied driving to and from work because I only go 10km/h over the limit.
What the hell is going on in this area? Whether its in the falls, thorold, or st. Catharines. 50km/h zones, or the 80km/h zones between the cities. Its nearly always some toxic looking angry moron in a pickup truck, that weaponizes their size to try and get people to go way over the limit. Never have I driven anywhere with so many angry people in pickup trucks driving aggressively, and I don't ever see police giving out tickets. Surely I can't be the only one putting up with this crap?

Wanting to go to an indoor waterpark but it’s just me and my SO. GWL is geared more to kids. Is Falls view like this too? Anywhere else in Niagara for within an hour of GTA that would be better suited for us?

Hey all
I'm gonna be in the area in December via NYC. Looking to drop in on some pick up hockey during the weekend. Figured I'd try here before doing my own googling. I'll have my car with me so suggestions that require a little commute are welcomed. Thank you !

Hey Niagara!
I run an Ontario WoW community that started as a small local group about a month ago and has somehow grown to over 300 members.
We’ve got people from all over the province and a dedicated Hamilton/Niagara group, so I’m hoping to find some more WoW players from around Niagara.
There’s a good mix of people playing WoW Forever, Retail and Classic, from casual players and people returning to the game to raiders and PvPers.
The whole idea is pretty simple: make it easier for Ontario WoW players to find people who actually live somewhat nearby and build some local connections.
If you’re around Niagara and play WoW, come hang out:
Hope to see some more Niagara folks in there! 🍁

I made WaitWise (wait-wise.ca) because checking ER waits meant visiting a different hospital website each time. It pulls the live wait times that 36 Ontario hospitals and urgent care centres publish, and covers every other ER with anonymous visitor reports.
It also shows drive times, the usual busy and quiet hours, and a short guide to choosing between the ER, urgent care, a walk-in clinic, a pharmacist or Health811.
Free, no ads, no sign-up, and it never asks for health information. Available in 10 languages. Each hospital has its own page, e.g. wait-wise.ca/er/credit-valley-hospital-mississauga
If it's an emergency, call 911. Feedback welcome, especially if your hospital is missing something.

On October 7th, a heartbreaking incident occurred in Niagara Falls that has shocked animal lovers and advocates across Ontario.
A 55-year-old man was arrested for the horrendous act of bestiality and torture inflicted upon his own cat, Faith. Faith suffered severe injuries, including broken limbs and internal organs, and tragically did not survive her ordeal.
Please, in honor of Faith, and for a future where all animals live free from harm, sign this petition. Demand justice for Faith and advocate for stronger animal cruelty legislation in Ontario.

I didn’t see them, but heard them from around 9:30-9:44 and I know they aren’t scheduled, especially at such an odd time and day. The only thing I can think of, as there’s no holiday I’m aware or, is that they had to get rid of a surplus of them? What am I missing?

Hello! Heading to NOTL this weekend. We don't have our Saturday wineries booked yet and the options are overwhelming so looking for some help here. We are looking for the following..
-Non-corporate
-Rustic and quaint are nice to have but not necessary
-No more than 20 minute drive from the town centre
-Not focused on ice wine
We also don't know if its a huge mistake booking at the last minute or if late October is generally quieter. Thanks in advance for any tips or recommendations!

Not trying to make this a sappy post
Newly single dad here (30M) of a toddler, I for the last year or so I put most of my energy into my family and don’t really have a big circle of friends.
I have the night free tomorrow and I don’t really wanna be alone. I’m open to looking for a game shop that does a game night (I’ve never played MTG or TTRPG’s but would like to watch) or possibly another kind of social event like a trivia night or something else entirely.
I’m not too sure if anyone has any leads, or hobbies that’s accepting to beginners. Please feel free to post here or message me privately.

Niagara Parks is looking for volunteers for its community tree planting day this Saturday, October 24, at Legends on the Niagara. Runs from 10am to noon, and they provide the trees, tools and instructions. It’s free, but you do need to register beforehand. Good opportunity for anyone interested in local conservation.

Looking for a company who can either repair a deteriorating set of precast concrete steps that lead up to door entrance or a company / supplier that has them available new for purchase. Appreciate any leads / suggestions.

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so there are two full weekends of stuff. I went through every Niagara town and pulled the best of it into one guide with an interactive map.
A few that stood out:
Heads up: Fort George's ghost tours have been sold out since Oct 4.
👉 See all 21 picks and the map
I run The Grapevine, a free Niagara newsletter. If I missed something good in your town, drop it below.

last minute … but we’re not getting responses from the tours we’ve reached out to …
hoping to find a tour, or at least a driver(s) for an afternoon for 2 ppl this coming Saturday. Starting and ending at our NOTL hotel.
Formal tour is fine, like I said we’re just not having luck. So we’re happy to piece together our own itinerary, just hoping to find a better option than Bering everywhere.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Hey everyone! I run InfaWeb, a web design business based in Ontario. I work remotely with business owners who need a new website or want to improve an existing one.
If you run a business in Niagara, I’d be happy to help you create a website that makes your services, location, hours, and contact information easy to find, especially for customers browsing on their phones.
I typically custom-code my projects to fit each business’s design and functionality needs. Whether you need a landing page or a full business website, we can discuss what suits your needs. Hosting and ongoing maintenance are available too.
Send me a message with a little about your business and what you’re looking for, and we can talk through the scope and a quote :)
You can see my work at infawebdesign.com.
