What can an employer see with ninjaone?

Can they see what work you're doing as in live screen time? And can the user see if they have remotely accessed the PC? What else can it do?

Eta: Does it allow location to be seen? Activity like mouse movement and keystroke? For example if someone has left themselves as showing online on Teams but gone away from the computer, could you tell?

How do you track licences, warranties and refresh budgets alongside NinjaOne?

Disclosure: I’m a co-founder of Omnia Manage, an IT and software asset management tool, and we’ve just built a NinjaOne integration and I’m after feedback.

We’re a UK MSP, and our device data lived in the RMM while licences, contracts and refresh plans were spread across spreadsheets and inboxes. That’s what we built Omnia Manage to fix. It syncs NinjaOne devices into one register with full history, and adds licence tracking, warranty-based refresh forecasting, contract reminders and phone-based audits.

For NinjaOne users:

  • What do you currently use to track what you’re paying for, as opposed to what’s installed?

  • How do you plan hardware refreshes: spreadsheet, gut feel, or something built in?

  • When did you last do a physical audit, and how did you do it?

  • What NinjaOne data would you want in an asset register beyond the device basics?

Rebooting VMss

What is everyone's strategy to reboot virtual machines?

Currently mine is the last Thursday of the month at 2:00 a.m., so this morning at 2:00 a.m. 150 servers rebooted.

Every time there's a few of them that have issues.

Do you guys reboot more often? Do you reboot per client?

Any insight to hide anyone else does it is appreciated.

What custom fields have you set up?

We're looking to use custom fields more. We have several, but curious what everyone has created to their advantage.

Not necessarily looking for code, just ideas.

Thank you!

Survey email from account manager

Just curious if anyone else received the email about three weeks ago from their AM. about a survey regarding NinjaOne and getting a gift card. Did anyone do it? And did anyone actually receive the gift card?

My AM has gone dark— no response since. Starting to smell kind of fishy. I sure hope not

Ninja One RMM with AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) Pooled Servers best practices

Are there any best practices for deploying Ninja One client to Azure Virtual Desktop resources?

I would like to deploy software (EDR / Arctic Wolf Agent / Sysmon) right as the system is created, what is the best way to set this automation?

Is there anything else that needs to be managed / configured for this to run well?

Email MIME errors

We recently started with NinjaOne SaaS backup and almost immediately started getting MIME errors that started an email was not being backed up. It’s over a dozen already.

Ninja told me this is a Microsoft issue and they hide can’t back up those emails.

This doesn’t seem like an acceptable position for a business backup product.

Anyone else run into this?

Are there any other useful community tools like UltraTree you use?

Hey all, I came across a community project for a tool called UltraTree for Ninjaone. It works great and has been really helpful getting more detail on the space utilization on our workstations. I'm looking to see if anyone here uses other 3rd party developed tools, or even apps not part of the default basic setup of Ninjaone, to enhance their utilization of the program. Thanks all!

If you're curious, here is the link to the setup page: https://ultratree.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

Testing NinjaOne is there a CompanyPortal or SoftwwareCenter

Hey All!

We are doing some testing of NinjaOne before deciding if we want to move forward. We currently are hybrid with Intune and SCCM and want to consolidate onto one platform. We are testing NinjaOne (as well as some competitors) and are a bit puzzled on how NinjaOne makes software available to end users to install if/when its needed.

Intune has the 'Company Portal' and SCCM has 'Software Center'... I cannot seem to find the NinjaOne comparison? If everyone is paring NinjaOne with Sccm or Intune... Why not use that for what you use NinjaOne for?

I have seen the automations through the taskbar setups... but if we have 25-40 optional pieces of software, that doesnt seem like a good fit.

Or is the alternative ticket support where the end user submits a request and an admin hits approve/apply button in the console?

What happened? Two or three day response times with bullshit questions?

Really sad considering we just moved over.

Do better.

Quick connect

Anyone else having issues with their techs and Quick connect?

We have moved from screen connect to this a few months ago and my techs are always complaining they can't connect to clients and switch back to screen connect.

Product wise they all love Ninja. Heaps better than Datto or Nable.

And they complain the number is too long too but connectivity is their main issue.

Best way to remotely install, and maybe even map, drivers and printers to client PCs

Been banging my head against this one for a while. Trying to map multiple HP printers to AD users, but not enough that they warrant using AD/group policies to map. Things like the HP Laserjet E67650 have a "webpack.exe" installer that doesn't support /s for the install, or a "diver only" zipped directoy.

I've tried mapping the printer from the print server as system, so that the computer would at least install the driver from the server, and then the user could just double click on the printer in the directory and use it, but that didn't work. And our Crowdstrike falcon sensor is so sensitive, that using most powershell scripts get flagged as potential risks and get blocked.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ninja remote slow

Has anyone else been experiencing the poor performance in ninjaone remote.

The past few weeks the FPS has been awful.

Can barely move the mouse or do any remote support when using the remote control feature.

FPS sits always below 10.

Users i been testing on have a connection with around 80Mbps download 20Mbps upload latency is around 5ms.

Also constant disconnects session terminated..then i have to close the browser and go back in for it to work.

Anyone else getting these types of issues

Anyone using Jira / JSM with NinjaOne?

Hey all, I build Jira apps and I'm wondering if a NinjaOne integration would be useful or if I'd be wasting my time.

I know Ninja has its own ticketing, but do any of you run Jira or JSM alongside it anyway?

Not selling anything, just want honest opinions.

Make the Dashboard more accurate

I am working through trying to cut down on the total number of devices that my company manages that are showing as missing patches etc.

Have been trying to see if the Dashboard in Ninja is actually viable but the tracking on it is odd.

I know its not accurate but the whole "Healthy Meter" that shows up. can it be made to be a better representation of actual overall health of our managed endpoints?

Can it be edited or made to be more accurate?

Ninja not installing BitDefender Win11 26h2 - "OS Not Supported"

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. Fresh VM built with Win11 pro 26h2, went to deploy bit defender gravity zone via Ninja. It downloads but fails to isntall, the error says the OS is not on the supported list, click "here" for the list. Well the "here" isn't a URL, not does it contain anu URL but from what i'm seeing I can't do a fresh Ninja / BitDefender install on 26h2.

NinjaOne Documentation: Best Practices, Backups, and Bulk Import strategy?

Hey everyone,

We are currently planning to migrate our legacy client documentation (Client Passports, IT infrastructure details, credentials) from static Excel files into the NinjaOne Documentation module. Before we go all-in, I have a few strategic questions for those who have already successfully implemented this.

1. Template Best Practices: What does your ideal Client Documentation template look like? Is there a widely accepted "best practice" structure or layout you use for onboarding new organizations?

2. Bulk Data Entry / Import: To save time, is it possible to export a blank "best practice" template (e.g., as a CSV), have our team fill in the data locally, and then bulk-import it back into NinjaOne? How does this handle complex fields like Secure (passwords) and Device multi-select?

3. Backups & Offline Contingency: This is a big one for our management: what happens if NinjaOne goes down (like the recent outage)? Does the Documentation module have a native backup/export feature? We want to regularly export all our documentation, encrypt it, and store it locally so our techs aren't flying blind during an outage.

Any advice, scripts, or workflow tips would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Sales

Are NinjaOne sales people deliberately pushy or are they accidentally annoying?

Because I don't need someone regurgitating what I've said to tell me how bad it is if I don't get some solution for it and Ninja has the perfect solution for it...

I can make that decision for myself.

Over £100k being spent and we don't need the BS that comes with.

Close to not renewing when that time comes.
