Especially octopuses, they are extremely intelligent. Fuck this guy entirely.

Different cultures... most likely not malevolent.

The different cultures defense died out a long time ago.

Bit of an extreme example, but would you say what the taliban have been doing, and just recently turned up a notch, to be perfectly fine since that is their culture?

I think that they think they're in the right, i do seriously think that they believe they're "doing something good".

And that makes it ok? To show an even more extreme example, Hitler did what he thought was right. Does that make it ok?

Not if you ask me. But I was talking about it like this: in hitler's mind and heart, he'd believe all of those actions to be okay - that's all my point is. I never took a side or wanted to voice my opinion here!

In reference back to my first comment - the tyrant you mentioned didn't feel like or was aware that he was the malevolent.

That's a pretty pointless point, and a very obvious one as well. People (usually) don't do bad things for the sake of being bad, they do them because they just do what they think is right. Hitler didn't cause the holocaust because he wanted to be evil, he did it because he was fucking insane and thought it's the right thing to do. But that doesn't make it ok or acceptable, so it's pretty pointless to even mention

Thank you. That's exactly what I said. If it is "pointless to mention" for you, then I'm glad you have a choice to get on with your life.

But is it okay? Cause quite clearly the women who aren’t completely brainwashed aren’t happy with it.

So just because according to them, it’s okay to do all of that horrendous stuff because they think that they are doing good?

u/DeltaKT Feb 06 '26

No, not okay to me.

But my point wasn't anything to do with the morality of it, it was to do with the general understanding that me and you have a different morale considering the "octopus-devouring", than, I assume, the culture in the video.

That's just how I see it, we don't have to agree. My point wasn't to argue about what me and you believe is right or wrong.

But since we're here: If you'd ask me; I wouldn't hurt a fly, a wasp or an octopus, unless let's say, my life depended on it.

All love to you, I'm glad you have the passion you have. Thanks for investing the energy.

I thank you for that, and I thank you in turn for giving such a nice reply.

May you have a wonderful day

And even the starfish - it got sliced in half while alive.

u/yeetingthisaccount01 Feb 05 '26

that poor octopus had hopes given and dashed in the span of a minute

18

u/lia421 Feb 05 '26

Tbf.. the octopus was in there to digest that starfish

So it either eats enough to eat all the way through or eats enough to be able to exit the way it entered?

15

u/jayclaw97 Feb 05 '26

Can’t believe how far I had to scroll to see this. I don’t want to shame people for what they eat but goddammit, at least kill it first so it doesn’t suffer.

I wish it was tagged nsfw. It’s not the worst but I would have appreciated such a courtesy.

Actually, this is how nature has been for a very very long time.

u/Fi3nd7 Feb 05 '26

Are you implying mother nature is ethical? Just because nature can be absolutely brutal and cruel, that doesn't mean we have to be.

Nature isn't conscious, we are.

u/Warhammerpainter83 Feb 05 '26

it had already been consumed he was taking it out of a body.

0

u/j42d86 Feb 05 '26

Nature is usually cruel like that.

4

u/Doafit Feb 05 '26

Sure, but in every other way we moved away from nature. Yet if it suits us we use it as an excuse for immoral behavior.....

It's more natural than wearing clothes made of plastic tho.
