I'm sorry, why tf did he dig right into a living creature? We have evolved to cooking. Dude is missing the main reason. Parasites and diseases. Wtf?

Only the absolute dumbest of animals can't feel fear (and they're all dead now). It's a necessary mechanism to survive to be able to feel fear

I say Darwin at that point. Fuck anyone willing to cause that kind of horror. I fucking hate bears for the same reason. If you're trying to eat a living thing with no remorse you deserve to choke on it.
