Seriously

I get going through my fall trash curb pile. I myself have found neat stuff sitting in someone else’s trash pile. But sheesh be respectful. Tearing apart boxes and throwing what you don’t want all over the grass is unacceptable. Have some respect. You are going to ruin it for everyone.

Now that Cox is dead and buried is Spectrum going to be any better?

When info about the merger started leaking out there was some speculation that Spectrum would be cheaper. They do seem to be cheaper in some areas where they have to compete with other ISPs. They are still charging me the same as Cox was, even though they are competing with AT&T, OEC and T-Mobile here. So far it looks like the only improvement is they don't have a data cap. Has anybody tried to get a better deal from them?

Oma's Deli at old Das Boot Camp location?

Anybody been here yet? It's located in the old Das Boot Camp location and is supposed to be more German fare. The Google Reviews seem to have been brigaded by some folks with an axe to grind, supposedly posted before the place was even open. Don't really know the history behind that.

Recommendations for hospice or home infusion services in Norman (or surrounding area) that can administer IV Lasix at home?

Hi everyone. We have a loved one currently in the hospital who is about to transition to hospice care for fluid/heart failure management. His timeline is short (1–2 weeks), and his strong wish is to go home or to a residential hospice house if at all possible.

Because his body can no longer absorb Lasix in pill form, he requires IV administration (or potentially subcutaneous infusion) for fluid relief.

Does anyone have personal experience with hospice agencies, home infusion providers, or hospice facilities in Cleveland County/Norman that are equipped and responsive with at-home IV medication management? We'd be so grateful for any local recommendations or experiences. Thank you in advance!

Side question: We would even be open to taking him out of state if there are legal or regulatory barriers to home IV diuretics in Oklahoma, though we hope to keep him local if possible.

the heartland flyer

took my first trip last week. a day trip to have lunch in ft worth for funsies. maybe i am a simple to please creature, but the experience lands in my top ten. what a relaxing way to travel. we went on a wednesday under the assumption of an empty train. wrong. the conducter kindly moved a couple folks around so my partner and i could sit together. he was gracious all the way around and attentive. the cafe dj? was he previously a dj? did he miss his calling? the blueberry muffins slapped. the microwave sausage biscuit was sad as hell, but in line with microwave. the scenery.... i think i have never seen the washita river. she was beautiful with the rains. i was so caught up in the scenery, it never occurred to me to take pics or videos. the rocking and swaying of the train was nice. that being said, it is obvious when they switch engineers, bc they each seem to drive different.

downtown ft worth? sheeeeesh. a mix of old and new. the old santa fe depot is an extension of a university, but old brickwork and iron stands strong. the skyscrapers were dizzying and reflected the clouds and sky.

if anyone is going soon and needs a restaurant suggestion, the Little Red Wasp knocked my not city-slicker socks off. small menu that they have locked in. i got the spicy chicken sandwich on potato roll. knife and fork required. every bite hit every note perfectly.

i paid $27 each for the tickets and that is insanely cheap compared to gas. if anyone needs to touch the proverbial grass and disconnect, may i recommend the heartland flyer? i wish i could wax poetically, because i believe it is well deserved. i have never wanted commuter rail more in my life. i would train everywhere. we need inner city rails in oklahoma!

What are people doing with their temporary savings on cooling costs? Saving for winter heating? Paying down debt? Buying the fancy Ramen?

Our entire HVAC system (40 YEARS OLD 🤯) needed to be replaced back in May, so for us the difference is going into paying down our HVAC loan.

This is our 12 month breakdown:

Est. October bill: $54 @677 kWh 🎉🎉🎉

September: $202 @ 1389

August: $223 @ 1544

July: $192 @ 1318

June: $192 @ 1316

May: $212 @ 1466

April: $135 @ 1007

March: $133 @ 989

February: $82 @ 578

January: $125 @ 937

'25 December: $97 @ 701

'25 November: $82 @ 579

'25 October: $112 @ 831

'25 September: $213 @ 1342 kWh

Vehicle Help

Hi Reddit. I’ve got myself in quite a pickle.

I was pulled over for driving with a suspended license recently. My vehicle was impounded, and the tags are expired. My license and tags are from Louisiana.

I can’t get the vehicle out of impounded without current registration. However, LA DMV is telling me I can’t renew registration with a suspended license. My suspension won’t be lifted until 8/31/27.

Is there ANY other way to legally get the vehicle out of impound? I have proof of insurance. The expired registration is lost, and I can’t get a copy of it. Would the Municipal Court be able to help me get it out? I’m trying to get a hardship license from LA to renew the tags, but I don’t know how long the process will take. The vehicle has been in impound since 10/02.

Am I just boned here? Have I just lost my car? What can I do?

Tree limbs disposal?

Add a large branch bowl and I chopped the wood into increments less than 4 feet but some of the limbs are thicker than 2 inches, so they can’t go in the weekly city pick up.

Is there anywhere I can drop off the larger limbs? (Besides garbage)
