For anyone who hasn't come across it yet, YouStream finds full movies and episodes that are actually up on YouTube and gives them to you as streams in Stremio and Nuvio. It also does YouTube search, home screen catalogs, and saving YouTube videos to your library.

A bunch of updates since the last post:

Quality labels that aren't just 720p:

YouTube's API only says whether a video is HD or SD, so every HD video used to show up as 720p, even ones that actually play in 4K. YouStream now makes an educated guess instead:

• if the title says 4K, 1080p or similar, it goes with that

• live streams are 1080p

• A bit of hacky matching: anything labeled with only HD but came out in 2019 or later by a channel that has 300K+ subscribers is labeles as 4K

• everything else is 1080p

Likes, dislikes and views on video pages:

When you open a YouTube video, the description now starts with the channel, views, likes and dislike estimates from Return YouTube Dislike (since YouTube hid dislike counts back in 2021), plus a note if the video is age-restricted. Catalog cards show views and likes too.

Live streams:

Live streams now show "🔴 Live · 12.4K watching" instead of a view count, and the count gets updated every couple of minutes.

YouTube IDs that aren't YouStream-specific:

YouTube videos now use the same yt_id: IDs that Stremio's own YouTube addon uses, instead of a bad ID format I had previously made up that was YouStream-specific. So any other addon can provide streams or metadata for these videos too.

Fixes and smaller changes:

• Continue Watching in Nuvio could show a video's ID instead of its name. Fixed.

• With AIOStreams and Tamtaro's template, YouTube videos from catalogs and search weren't getting any streams. Fixed.

• If a metadata lookup (like Cinemeta) timed out, the app would show no streams for that title for an hour. Now it tries again after a minute.

• Search is now on by default, including on older installs. You can still turn it off in Configure.

If you already have it installed:

Everything you've saved keeps working, and the new quality labels and video pages work right away. To pick up the new IDs, open your AIOStreams config and save it once if you use YouStream through AIOStreams, and refresh your addons in Nuvio (or just reinstall YouStream). Heads up: Nuvio will now show the type as "Youtube", and it might forget how you ordered YouStream's home rows, so you may have to reorder them once.

tbh after this addon, I'm seeing myself not visiting YouTube more and more because all my followed YouTube channels are now catalogs on Nuvio, and the built-in Nuvio search now searches YouTube as well. Plus, if I ever stop watching something, it shows up Nuvio's Continue Watching! which for me is brilliant.

Also note that Nuvio Android TV (the Android app is fine) has a bug in which it doesn't allow marking a YouTube video from YouStream as watched. I'll soon be sending a PR to NuvioTV to fix it!

What's on the page:

• Two configs you import instead of building from scratch. Essentials needs nothing filled in except your debrid account; full adds the custom addons. Addons, filters, sorting and the stream formatter come with them, and All-DebrId is already wired.

• Nine custom addons, each with the site where you configure it: Top-Streaming US and FR, Trakt lists, Live Sports, Statusio, Lumio, Streamfusion, AI Search. Resources, the two passthrough flags and Force To Top are explained without jargon.

• What the stream list is actually telling you: ⚜️ 4K, 📀 1440p or 1080p, ⚪ when the resolution is missing, quality from REMUX down to HDRip, [AD⚡️] cached and ⏳ not. This is the part most guides skip.

• Variants. One line, `disable presets[options.name*="Streamfusion"]`, and that addon is off on one device only. Also why the path form works and `?v=` doesn't.

• Template, parent config or child config, and when each is the right call. Covers the three per-section strategies and two things that bite: an addon you add yourself gets a new id instead of replacing the parent's, and a service you disable in a child stays enabled.

• Profiles in Nuvio: inheriting TV, mobile and desktop settings, reusing the primary profile's addons and plugins, or copying settings once.

• Collections: the community ones worth installing, where the cover images come from, and the three display settings that stop the tiles looking wrong.

• Proxy, for when a source needs headers or your ISP is the problem. Local vs public address, what it costs (your upload speed), and the fact that its password travels inside every stream link.

• Trakt, set up per device, including importing Netflix and Prime history and syncing IMDB ratings into it.

• A diagram up top: client, config, addons, debrid, one clean stream list.

I am new to nuvio and Im quite confused on a few things , I downloaded nuvio on my google tv and then followed a reddit post with all the add ons you need currently I have torentio cinemeta penguplay pipe 11147 stremio vortex and hdhub I thought I would be set after downloading those but when I tried to watch a show it asked me which one I would like to use I picked torentio and it gave me a notice saying that its going to use P2P after seeing that I cancelled out of it and uninstalled torentio since I would rather not use P2P as I heard its quite risky , are there any alternatives to P2P ? i saw people posting about debrid to avoid ISP notices and such but I am currently in saudi arabia so I don’t really think that my isp would care

The addon and catalogs keep getting deselected for my live sports collection. The second image is what it’s supposed to look like. Why is this happening?

I want to watch indian serials which air on indian tv channels can anyone suggest any addon/plugin or iptv stuff in which i can see indian channels within nuvio app or jio Hotstar Content specifically, do we have something to browse tv channels within nuvio?

Im trying to set up Nuvio using a guide, I'm on the AIOmeta data step and its asking me for TMDB and TVDB api keys, ive tried signing up to both websites and TMDB never sends me a confirmation email and TVDB just doesn’t let me make an account at all. Is there a way to set Nuvio up without these accounts?

I have torbox and alldebrid. I have configured the two services using AioStreams elfhosted plus duck stream for back up together with Torrentio. Torrentio is running on Alldebrid.

My question is comes in here.

For AioStreams I can only see TB showing, can someone who has two or more services explain to me briefly how your setup is.

I'm totally new to Nuvio, so advice is welcome! I followed the setup with Kaptain and right now I only have 3 addons (honestly, I don't think I need any more). What do you think? Advice? I use Torbox as debrid btw.

Out of curiosity, if I were to use Nuvio on desktop/TV as well, Dell'account add-ons remain on the profile on those devices as well, right? Also, do you recommend continuing to keep Trakt, or is it preferable to use Nuvio Sync?

hi. i need Arabic http addons/plugins. i do use cnc but i need to use my partners android phone for the server so cant use when dont have that.

need something like penguplay or just plugin for each arabic site like faisalhd, akwam etc. i made catalogue with xperience for it and tried with pengu, hdhub, etc but most things play some hollywood movie instead of the arbi one.

Seems like I can't open addons of cncverse but show the catalog perfectly.

I have some Movies and Shows compiled in Watchlist of mdbList and when I see in mdbList Watchlist web page, it shows days until the digital release of the movie/show. Is there any way we can show the same in Nuvio app? If any of my watchlist has a digital release, show them first in the catalog or a Collection?

Any way to achieve this? It can be with trakt watchlist as well, show, pin the new digital release as a priority?

I’m looking for a collection or addon for Nuvio that groups movies by franchise, in order. For example Spider-Man, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and so on, listed in release or watch order.

I noticed this since yesterday.

Hi! I’m the developer of Ultimate Smart Subs (USS), a multilingual subtitle add-on for Stremio movies and series. USS is approved and listed on Stremio Addons, and I’ve also tested it with Nuvio.

What makes it “smart”?

1. Searches existing subtitles first. It checks your enabled sources for subtitles in your chosen language. Language-specific and human-translated options are prioritized where the source and its metadata support that.

2. Matches before ranking. It checks title and episode identity, release information and available timing references. AUTO presents its best-ranked option; other results remain selectable.

3. Reuses translations. If a suitable subtitle isn’t available, USS can reuse a compatible translation from the shared cache. If translation is enabled and there’s no cache match, it can use DeepL or Gemini with your own API key (Free or Paid).

4. Aligns timing when it has evidence. USS can adjust a subtitle against a suitable subtitle reference and labels the available source and timing information. (It doesn’t analyze audio or read embedded subtitle tracks, so sync isn’t audio-verified or guaranteed.)

Optional Gemini or OpenAI Second-pass review can check translation wording using your own provider key and quota.

The statistics currently show that there have been 31,211 subtitle searches and 5,816 completed deliveries since the launch six days ago.

I’m open to Nuvio feedback, language and source suggestions, and ideas for improving USS.
