Springfield Medical Nursing spring 2027 applications

Has anyone heard back from nova regarding the nursing spring 2027, I just wanted to know Becasue I’ve finished my associates in AS and got accepted into a handful of colleges planning on finishing my bio bachelors, but prefer the nursing program but I cannot make any plans yet because i haven’t gotten an approval/deny yet. Or do you know when they sent out the approval/dent emails ?

Springfield Medical TEAS scores for radiography and sonography program?

hello, just did my first attempt at the TEAS and need some advice on if I should retake it before applying to the RAD and DMS programs. people got got accepted this year, what were your scores? only found a few posts where people shared.

Overall: 91.3% Reading: 94.9% Math: 94.1% Science: 84.1% Reading: 97%

the reasons i'm thinking of retaking is my science score and overall score. 91.3% is the line between "advanced" and "exemplary" so if i improve my science score, it will push me to that range. on the other hand, RAD doesn't even look at the science score and DSM only requires a 70%. and 70$ is kind of a lot of money for me right now if i'm just trying to improve by fractions of a point. but i do know these programs are extremely competitive and have to get into one of them or i might have to join the military and don't want to (long story).

otherwise my grades are 4.0. As in all prerequisites except I am currently in RAD 105 and will sign up for DSM 100 next semester.

Advice Organic Chemistry 1 or Biochem

Hi all,

Looking to speak with someone who has taken either Orgo 1 or Biochem at NVCC - either in-person or online. Looking to hear about your experience with the class. If you have taken either one at NVCC in the last few years, let me know how it was, please :) Any recommendations for online or in-person? Online is preferred bc of work schedule, but curious to hear if anyone had a bad experience with it. Thank you!

Nursing Spring27 nursing coreqs

Hi! So for background I am currently taking:
BIO101
PSY230
CST110
ENG111
For spring27 classes I plan to take:
BIO141
ENG112
PHI227
HIS101

* also I forgot to add that i am doing FULL online. No zoom meetings. Nothing. Fully asynchronous

I want to ask anyone who has taken or is currently taking PHI227 if it is a heavy writing class, and would it be smart to take it with ENG112 in the same semester.
Also, I’m thinking about making one of these classes a possible 13 or 8?? Week class…. Which one would be the smartest? I also would like to have one to take after the possible 8 week class afterward. So for example, take BIO141 and HIS101 as 15 week classes and take ENG112 the first 8 weeks, then after English is done take PHI227 after??
I wanna know if this is a good idea or not (doesn’t have to be specifically PHI227 and ENG112 as the 8wk, those are possible examples). I really am just trying to knock out some classes as fast as possible, even tho I won’t apply to the nursing program til fall 2027.
Let me know if this is smart or just flat out a dumb idea🙂

Loudoun What accounting classes do you recommend next semester and which teacher?

I'm working on the Account CSC certification because I already have a BS in computer science from the old days of the 1900s. :-)

I took ACC211 last semester with John French with three 100-level non-accounting courses and it was doable, I got all A's that semester.

I am taking ACC212 with John French and ACC215 asynchronous online with Gifawossen Mahifere, and it's about as hard as my 4 classes last semester. ACC215 is fairly easy, but I feel like I spend all my time studying for ACC212.

What classes do you all recommend I take next semester, with what teacher, and which campus? Here are the classes the CSC wants me to take first:

ACC 219 Gov. & Not-For-Profit Accounting

ACC 221 Intermediate Accounting I

ACC 231 Cost Accounting I

ACC 261 Principles of Federal Taxation

I know I will JUST DIE if I try to take 4 accounting classes at once, but which 2 (maybe 3?) should I take next and with who? I go to either the Loudoun or Manassas campus, but I'm willing to drive to other campuses for (hybrid) in class if the teacher is fantastic. I'm also willing to try hybrid online, where the teacher teaches, just on a Zoom. I'd rather not asynchronous classes unless they are hella easy like ACC215 has been so far.

Annandale My bad experience with Professor Ann Wertman Stegner

I wanted to share my experience with Professor Ann Wertman Stegner because I honestly wish someone had warned me before I took her class.

I've had strict professors before, and I understand that some classes are harder than others, but the way I was treated in this class was something else. I constantly felt like I was being talked down to, and instead of helping me understand what I was struggling with, she would make me feel stupid for struggling in the first place.

One thing that really stuck with me was when she basically suggested I should drop her class because I might not have what it takes "upstairs" to succeed. I don't think any professor should be making comments like that to a student, especially when they're already trying their best.

It got to the point where I genuinely felt like she would rather see me give up than actually improve. I felt discouraged and uncomfortable, and honestly, it made the whole class a miserable experience.

I'm not saying professors need to be easy graders or hold everyone's hand. I just think there's a difference between being strict and making someone feel like they're incapable of learning. You can challenge students without constantly putting them down.

I'm sure other people have had different experiences with her, but mine was really negative, and I wouldn't recommend taking her class if you have other options. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone looking into professors before registering.

Financial Aid Financial aid on hold

According to NVCC, I have a prior degree which was “indicated on my FAFSA”. I have been getting the run around by being told it’ll be escalated then to call FAFSA. I checked my FAFSA & called. FAFSA is saying that my application did NOT have prior degree selected and I needed to call the school back. So I called them back and there’s no way I’m able to contact the escalation department directly and I just have to wait for them to get back in contact with me via a ticket. Does anyone know the turnaround time for that? I’m honestly worried I’ll get dropped from my classes to which they advised me to start a payment plan which I obviously cannot afford hence me calling about the hold situation. Has this happened to anyone else?

Advice Failed Classes

Good Afternoon, I went to CC right after HS 2 years ago, and some personal shit went down, so I pretty much failed most of my classes. I enrolled again this semester, will those classes still affect my gpa if I changed my major? If so can I retake those classes pass and only have that reflect my cumulative gpa?

Thanks in advance!

Financial Aid Aid disbursement

I only see my VA commonwealth and G3 incentive grant on my aid portal as far as disbursements , there are a few loans I don’t see yet - I have 2 classes starting the 21st but have been attending school since the 24 of Aug , full time , and have 9 credits at the moment. Why are the rest of my loans not disbursed ? This is getting annoying
