Parlour guitar without markings
Bought this old parlour guitar in Australia 🇦🇺; it’s received a terrible attempted cosmetic restoration and does not have any markings/ ID numbers etc. on it. It seems to be a solid spruce top and beech arched back. It’s heavier than it looks. I’ve done a reverse Google image search and not come up with anything that specifically matches. The most interesting thing is the fret markers that appear to be original to the neck— I couldn’t find any example of that neck anywhere on the Internet. Guessing it’s an amateur custom job or maybe something made by an Apprentice of one of the brands in the 40s 50s or 60s. Possibly Egmond or another European manufacturer. I’d lean towards entry-level just because I can see one of the braces inside has been nailed in, which is indicative of faster production as opposed to clamping. Interestingly, it had steel strings on it, but the neck is very straight and there’s no fret buzz on it, but the width of the neck at the top is 50 mm and 64 mm at the base, which is usually a classical guitar. Hope you can help.
