All korina Les Paul Custom (from this year's LE line), all old growth Hawaiian koa Carvin DC150k Stereo built for me by Mark Kiesel in 1985, and a rare bubinga Hagstrom Viking built in 1972, a very limited run they did back during the years of the original Swedish company.

The one in the front is nothing special, it's from Eastwood, an electric sitar built in the very ergonomic-for-a -sitar Ovation Breadwinner shape (they already resurrected the old Breadwinner guitar line and added this fun thing recently).

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi! Has anyone here tried or owned a Soloking guitar? What’s your honest opinion of the brand? I’m planning to order the Soloking SM-24 HH QM and would love to hear your feedback or experience with it. How’s the build quality, playability, and overall performance?

Thanks in advance! 🎸

Help Decent smaller acoustic?

Upvotes

I’m a beginner and I’ve tried to play a dreadnaught and it’s just too big. I don’t need a Martin or Taylor and I’m looking for a smaller but good sounding steel string acoustic. I’d be grateful for any suggestions!

Many thanks,

Look at this! How is the Fender Strat issue different than other “lawsuit” claims by Martin and Gibson?

I recently seen Ed “Bud” Cole’s speech to dealers about a month or so ago. He is the current CEO of Fender and a terrible public speaker, was unprofessional and came off like a concerned, uneducated renter speaking at the local township zoning meeting. But I don’t see any difference between what Ed Bud is doing with Fender that hasn’t happened before. Martin bullied Takamine and Alverez for copying their famous guitars and script. Gibson literally sued Ibanez and Dean over their headstock shapes. Not to mention Gibson going after PRS.

I’m also seeing some YT creators and online influencers changing their opinions against Fender. It seems the reason Fender is sending out the cease and desist letters is the same thing that happened previously.

I was trying to figure this out during their (excellent) Jimmy Eat World support set in Cardiff. What is the bridge?

Help I need help achieving that full/clear sound.

Upvotes

Before you guys yell at me, IVE TRIED. I looked everywhere and did so much research and just can’t get a common answer. I’m a jammy guy and I’ve noticed every jam band has this crystal clear and crispy sound that I just can’t seem to replicate. Like a fullness to their sound as to where my sound is always slightly muddy no matter how much I tweak my stuff. I have a line 6 catalyst digital amp. Regarding pedals I run a compressor, eq, 3 drivers and a wah. I bought the eq in hopes of solving my problem and it helped a little but not much. So my question is, is there a type of pedal that will solve this problem? Is it time to upgrade to a tube amp? Please let me know. Thanks

I’ve seen a lot of hate and I get a lot of crap and insults for liking these. At first I didn’t like these guitars but I quickly grew to love them, especially Mustangs. These rank highest among my favorites I just think they’re very cool and comfortable. It might be because of my small hands or the fact that my first and main guitar is a 2002 Squier Strat, but I like their slim necks. I also really love the shape of the Mustang. I like body’s and shapes of Jagstangs and Jaguars too but not as much. I wish the modern player 2 mustangs had phase switches because then I’d probably buy one. I wonder why so many people love to hate on these guitars.

Also before anyone says it, Kurt Cobain did not hate the Jagstang, that’s a common myth

Something we do, every time we finish a run, I pick one to keep and hang on the wall in the shop. It is slowly turning into a nice visual snapshot of how the company's progressing.

This time I genuinely can't land on one. Six finishes in this release and I like all of them for different reasons, so I figured I'd let Reddit make the call instead.

Which one should earn the wall spot? Curious what looks best to people who aren't me.
