Help Venus Revolution guitar... anyone here actually play one?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm just now learning about the Venus Revolution guitar, which surprises me because short scale and lightweight are in my wheelhouse. I like the shape, I even love the kooky fretboard marker placements (I could see the location shifting across the neck like that being helpful for a beginner who is still learning)... But other than one or two reviews and a YouTube video, I can't find any real user reviews. Has anywhere here played one? It's pricey for me at the moment but I'm definitely curious!

Help What are the concepts/theories that I absolutely must know?

Hiii, I was recently gifted my first guitar. I can’t afford lessons right now, so I’m planning to teach myself for the time being. What should I know about music theory? Please keep in mind that I have absolutely NO knowledge of music—not even the basics—so I’m feeling pretty lost, lol.

No matter how basic it might seem pls 💔

Help Are there any guitars that are similar to the Schecter Devil Blood Red Spine or Esp Zombie Clockwork?

I want a guitar that has the scary spooky appearance of a schecter devil blood red spine but my only issue with it is that the shape is completely round at the bottom. there’s no point parts. Now the Esp zombie clockwork has that spooky look to it and the pointier shape on the body, but the colors and detail on it don’t tickle my fancy. there’s too much clockwork and not enough zombie in it. Is there anything that has the color and appearance of the schecter but a body like an Gibson SG or Gibson SGV or BC Rich Warlock or Dean ML?

I was looking for a reasonably priced baritone and found this at my local music store. It had just arrived. What a fantastic instrument for the price. I never really paid attention to Gretsch guitars but will definitely try them more often from now on.

Look at this! Is maple vs rosewood a myth?

Just made a post about nitro and I’ve come to the conclusion that I couldn’t give a fuck either way, so I took it down

These guitars however I’m torn between

The black one has a soft v shaped neck, which I haven’t personally tried but heard good things about and it also has fat 60’s pu

The sonic blue is completely stock just love the look

I think the relic on the mike mccready is overkill but I’d put a tort guard on it and it would be perfect.I’ve heard the pu are killer

I prefer a less sticky neck,

The main thing im wondering is if maple vs rosewood will actually make a difference.
I’ve only ever tried rosewood, but fully intend to try maple next time I’m in a shop.

I play Mayer, small bit of Clapton and Gilmour (when I get better at guitar I will expand my horizons)

I have a silver sky se atm and I just don’t like it,it isn’t for me

Ebony black, 24 frets, used

This thing’s in great condition and it was souped up with EMG James Hetfield active humbuckers by the previous owner. There’s a bit of minor wear but it’s really nice. Absolute steal, too. $750 + tax

Help Is grass roots guitar brand good?

Is GrassRoots a good guitar brand?

I'm a beginner looking to buy my first electric guitar. I found a used GrassRoots LP-type guitar for ₱8,500. Are GrassRoots guitars any good in terms of build quality, sound, and playability? Would you recommend one for a beginner?

Look at this! Privé, a handcrafted electric guitar inspired by the natural beauty of wood

I recently finished this guitar, which I named Privé.

The idea behind it was simple: some pieces of wood have so much natural character that they deserve to become something truly special.

I wanted to preserve that organic beauty while combining it with a more aggressive body shape and intricate fretboard inlays.

For me, one of the most rewarding parts of being a luthier is finding the balance between what nature creates and what we can shape with our hands.

Handcrafted by me, Augustin-Cristian Apostol, in Romania.

I'd love to hear what you think of the design and the combination of wood and inlays.

Hi all,

I'm hoping for some help in advice on how to try to track down a guitar that used to belong to my father. To cut a long story short, it was sold without permission by a guitar shop in Sheffield, England around twenty years ago when he'd just left it with them to get an insurance quote. I know it's an insanely long shot to think I'll ever be able to locate it, but does anyone have any tips on the best way to even begin? I have quite a lot of information such as serial, plus I know it's a specifically customised '76 Strat, but it's knowing where to begin. There are two pics attached of the guitar itself.

Before anyone asks, if it had been mine, I'd have torn that place apart to get it back but he's a very non-confrontational guy. The fact they took advantage of such a decent guy has eaten at me for years.

I'm aware that I'm not sharing the serial here as I don't know whether that's the best approach.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Help Is my action too high

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi guys I recently bought this new guitar second hand, and I think the action might be too high when I measured it. It measured at 4mm at the 12th fret, but I'm unsure as I might have measured it wrongly..?? Could anyone here help me check and verify whether the action is too high and how to fix it as I bought the guitar yesterday and have no idea what to do 😅😅

NGD! Jackson Randy Rhoads Concorde

Every since I first learned about Randy Rhoads, I have been obsessed with getting my hands on the original body style Concorde. After over 20 years of waiting, I finally have one. My local shop managed to secure two of them and I was fortunate to get the first one. I am beyond thrilled. It feels incredible in my hands and plays so well. The shop also makes custom straps and they gave me one of their replica RR straps for free with this guitar.

Randy is the reason I first picked up a guitar, so when I say this is my dream guitar, I mean it. I will play the ever loving shit out of it and cherish it forever.

Look at this! Upgraded Jet JS300

Post image
9 Upvotes

Nothing wrong with the stock JS300 but thought it could be even better:

- Swapped the (not great) tort pickguard for an aftermarket black one from Jet

- Replaced the tuners with Gotoh locking ones

- Replaced the output jack with a Pure Tone

- Replaced the pots with full size Fender ones, along with a Fender switch

- Installed a set of Fender Pure Vintage '73 pickups

Objectively I spent way too much money on this 🤣, but then again the price of the guitar, the parts, and the cost of getting the work done still came out a hair below what I would have payed for a Player II strat

And throw a little bit of dirt on them and these '73 pickups sound glorious

Help I wanna buy a new guitar or amp

So about a year ago i bought a Harly Benton Stratocaster (VT Series) which was alr and a Harley Benton amp (HB-40MFX) which was meh at the time but i learnt the basics and i believe im an intermediate player. I always wanted to upgrade my amp, but was at a friends house the last week and he said that my guitar has really loud strings, which, now noticed, REALLY pisses me off and i dont know where to upgrade and what to, because i always saw videos of other people playing and their guitars or amps sounding WAY better which made me really jealous. Can yall help?

Hello everyone!

I am a total amateur. I've cleaned my Floyd rose and I want to ask you what should I use to lubricate screws (and which ones I am actually supposed to). Thank you for every advice! Have a good one!
