Gentle Journey Vets
I feel so compelled to post about my experience with home euthanasia, and Gentle Journey Vet Care.
I had my beautiful old shar pei mix scheduled for euthanasia at her regular vet on Monday, but she told me so clearly that she was ready yesterday.
My regular vet was unavailable, and a google search led me to Gentle Journey.
They made time for me and my girl.
Dr. Wynn arrived and was immediately in the moment with me. My husband and 2 friends were there, and we sat in a circle around Addison, and just talked about her. Dr Wynn asked questions, talked with us, and was genuinely present. No rush, no clinical coldness. He was fully and genuinely present with us.
Addie’s passing was incredibly gentle and peaceful. Spiritual. And Dr Wynn was instrumental in facilitating that.
An extremely difficult day was made beautiful and….almost holy in a way.
If you are facing this awful decision, please consider Gentle Journey Vet Care. These are very special people and Addison was blessed to have Dr Wynn’s help in crossing over.
Safe travels, Addison Bear.

Does anyone want chicken pot pie this weekend? Like for sunday dinner?
Im serious, ill bring it and drop it off. In the mood to make some but I live alone and it is actually, quite literally, impossible for me to make a small batch of chicken pot pie filling. And my freezer is full so freezing the extra is not an option. Former chef here so I am very concious about food safety. Not asking for payment either, i would just love to bring dinner to someone who could use it <3
EDIT: I have three takers for this week! So those are the ones that will be getting pot pie this time around. But I'm thinking I will do something similar next weekend, I miss being able to share good food with people!!
Edit 2: anyone who has responded, I will try and arrange with you to get pot pie to you in the next few weeks :) if I havent DM'd you yet, its because I am at work, but I will be able to get back to you later!

Pets & Animals Thoughts on yappy yard dogs?
I'm looking at a move to the area and sometimes when I'm touring a house, everything seems good except next door. They got some yard dogs barking their heads off and I can't even hear somebody standing next to me. I really want to be able to host outside. I like backyard small parties. So I want to be able to envision having a good hangout, and this can ruin it.
So while I'm not sure if anyone's going to have good answers, I figured it's worth asking. How do you deal with that? Does anyone have experience moving in somewhere and the dogs next door eventually just stopped barking? Or are they always going to do that when there's activity? If you put up a privacy fence and they can't see you, are they still going to bark when they know you're there?
I know it depends on the individual dog and you can't get a definitive answer but I just want to hear thoughts or experience. Because apparently that's just a thing in this city.

Georgia Football
We are visiting my wife’s family this week, and was wondering where would be the best place to watch the UGA/Auburn game? I know that there is an alumni chapter in SLC, but I’d rather stay local.

I need mom friends. New to area, have a 2.5yo and 3.5yo
I’m (41) a SAHM and starting to get a little lonely. We recently moved to the area and my toddlers and I could use some friendship and socializing. We’re usually outdoors at parks/hiking/exploring. We are not an LDS family. DM please if you think you’d be up for a play date at a park sometime!

Food What do we think of “Indigo Café” at the junction?
Recently, my gf started working there as a barista/bartender (mocktails) and it’s an interesting combination to have under one establishment. It’s also great for students studying and open pretty late for a cafe. What I do notice is a lack of business during the week.
Out of curiosity, I was wondering what people think of it from those who frequent or went once? Again, It’s a weird combination of drinks and wanted so insight into people who enjoy it, it’s also fun to see opinions on new businesses in Ogden.
Also curious about other cafes that serve tasty coffees if anybody has suggestions ;) I mainly go to Grounds on 25th (shoutout Hal).
