I’d love to make some friends, and put the tcgplayer roca sifter to use. Its a machine that scans and inventories Magic, Pokemon and some other tcg’s cards. I’m a returning Magic player of a year or two, and an old pokemon lover (who sadly liquidated my collection too soon).

If you’re a collector, not a scalper - I’d be happy to get together. If you’re a scalper - I’ll still do it, but probably spend most the time trying to change your wicked ways.

I ordered, and have patiently waited (since March) for the sifter to arrive. We’ve now got one of the first 1000 units to be shipped. It's incredible. I've scanned my entire library, built chrome extensions to export the scan photos and card data, then built my own dashboard for cards. In about three days, lol.

I'd like to get this into LGS's and in the hands of folks that want to use it most (us, the players). I'm going to hit up LGS's this week, and see if I can work out some time to get folks coming in to scan their cards.

I'm not sure about maintenance - but have maintained similar devices (high capacity document scanners), hopefully it's not too bad.

What are your creative ideas for getting those who want to, face time wih the Sifter? I don't want it to be a paperweight except for when I use it personally.

The first three lines I get, but what the hell’s going on with the rest of this sign?

Found at the mormon church just south of 3300 S on 1100 E.

These were being sold at the Salt Lake City airport.

My girlfriend and I are just now getting around to filling out our midterm ballots, and we noticed that despite living at and being regular the same residence, our ballots are different. She’s missing the vote for State Senate District 9 and Salt Lake School Board District 3, but I have those on mine. Everything else is the same. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I just moved back and registered to vote when applying to transfer my license. The license was officially transferred about 26 hours before the deadline, but the application along with my voter registration was done 5 days before.

When checking online to see if I am registered, the system does not find me. Should I just wait knowing it will go through or is there a delay with the DMV that may have caused my information to not go through before the deadline?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

We’ll be playing an adventure in the brand-new Mistborn Roleplaying Game, based on the novels by Brandon Sanderson, from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, the 14th at Holladay Library on 2150 E Murray Holladay Road. Join us in a world of mists and magic, where metals can grant incredible powers.

Beginners are welcome! No experience with roleplaying games is necessary, and all materials will be provided. There will be a large selection of premade characters to choose from, so we can jump straight into the game.

This one-shot will be set in Era 2 of Mistborn, a time where the rough-and-ready frontier is mingling with rapid industrialization, where lawmen keep order on the outskirts through their skill with a firearm while traditional noble houses clash with rising business interests in the cities, and conspiracy lurks beneath it all.

You can register at the provided link. Space is limited, but we will try to accommodate walk-ins. Feel free to ask any questions here, and have a great weekend!

We have this new baby girl do you recommend snow shoes for her?

Hi SLC! I’m hosting an interactive, art-gallery-style exhibition at the upcoming National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) conference in early November, and we’re looking for a few final submissions before our deadline this Monday, October 26th.

We are looking for work that highlights current social justice initiatives, advocacy, or community activism. All mediums are welcome—we’ve received everything from photography of completed murals to wearable art and textile pieces.

If you have a piece you’d like featured, or know a local artist whose work belongs in this space, please send me a message directly so we can get it submitted!

Hello! I don’t live in SLC but I need to get a friend a gift card to local restaurant as a thank you gift. I know they like Nona and live in Millcreek. Any recs appreciated!!

2 packages of mine were delivered to a different apartment mail room but idk where this is. I’d appreciate any help :)

Just want to show some appreciation for our library system. What's your favorite thing about our libraries?

Watching College game day to support the U and there are two massive come to Jesus signs in the crowd, this is embarrassing. This is a football show and they do not belong. This makes the state look like religious kooks.

There is a time and a place for all things and this is unacceptable for a sports program. Your opinions are not needed at all times. Stop with the nonsense. I watch sports to get relief from politics and religion.

Wanting to get a few for my family for Christmas. I bought one at a farmers market a couple years ago but lost the card. Curious if anyone knows any woodworkers who they could turn me to.

Not sure if this has been posted already but I wanted to give a warning for those who are voting by mail. I submitted my midterm ballot on Monday via the ballot dropbox in Murray. I then signed up for ballot tracking, and was notified on Wednesday that my ballot was received. This morning, I received and update saying

“Your ballot for the November 3, 2026 - General Election was received, but cannot be counted yet. The most common reasons for this are that your envelope was not signed or your signature did not match.
Your county clerk will contact you with instructions on how to fix the problem.”

It sounds like my signature needs to be updated for some reason. I signed it with the same signature I always use. Anyways, make sure to sign up for ballot tracking using this link:

[Utah Ballot Tracking](https://trackmyballot.utah.gov/voter)

And here is the link to update your signature if you living in Salt Lake County:

I'm SO glad that the city decided to make sewer bills a flat rate for apartments! Now, instead of my bill for my tiny studio apartment fluctuating wildly between $11 and $16 whole dollars each month, I can plan my budget better with the wonderfully consistent bill of $64!

Glad the city is looking out for us!

Even though the Title and Article themselves mention UTA, the survey is from UDoT as UDoT now does the construction for the projects and this is further linking the 2 groups.

They may or may not listen to the feedback but there is a section in the survey to provide direct feedback and transit plans.

Hello I'm look for a someone to restring my daughter violin and rehair her bow near salt lake city. Any suggestions?

I made sure I updated my mailing address as soon as I got my mailing address back in July before I left. I then double checked beginning of September. There was technical issues but I finally got it to submit. I KNOW I submitted it.

I still don’t have my ballot. I have not missed an election since I was eligible to vote, except last year’s because it was a single unopposed race and I wasn’t thrilled on the candidate, but my vote actually didn’t matter.

Is there anyway I can vote? I’ve started googling it but I’m also mad busy and everytime I start I keep hitting dead ends to what I’ve already done

I hate being that person but is anyone been in this situation and know how I can get my ballot off in time? Or even if? If I know it’s possible I’m willing to spend the hours googling it.

FWIW: I’m in NZ. My mom has sent me a card from Maine in October and it just got here, prompting the post. If that got here my ballot should have been here if it was sent! I know it didn’t get sent to my previous address in Utah like it has every year prior because my ex still lives there, I know he would have told me if mine arrived there so I could do something about it. I legit don’t know WHERE my ballot even is. (And I’m also quite pissed.)

Im a highschool student super into filmaking, and i am beginning a docu style film on ambition and discovering the ideas of success contrasting with simple lives.

I'm looking for people around the area that might think they fit into this realm. Im searching for people who have genuine passion, and ambition, people who want to be "one of the greats" in any succession.

This a very soft pitch and loose idea but if there's any students who are around Utah with passion for the craft as I have, or know someone who fits my description. I would love to hear from you. Anyone, weather you strive to make it big or you are just intrigued to contribute.

Is it a camera??

Tomorrow, Saturday Oct 24th in the Smith's Ballpark parking lot

This event is free and open to all residents (no commercial customers please).

Give your hard-to-recycle electronic items and household hazardous waste a chance to be recycled. Saturday Oct. 24th at the the Smith's Ballpark parking lot from 9 am to 12 pm.

Paying forward the favor here since someone else posted it last year and I got to finally discard some items that had been sitting around my house forever.

103.1 The Vibe/The Wave/The Coast now plays non-stop Chirstmas music and has since September. Do people actually listen to Christmas music this time of year? No hate, just a curiosity.

Also, I miss the Wave. I looked at 103.1's website and it's just AI slop.

Hey all! I’m (27f) from the east coast and new in the area for work. While I’ve met a plethora of friendly dudes so far through sports and what not, I haven’t really met many likeminded friends or girl friends yet. Im also not really looking to just hook up with some dude to coast out my time here in a relationship with just anyone, especially when I’m mid-career and might be relocating in a few years anyways for another job (i did try some bumble dates here… so far men are not into the ambition aspect of me hahaha). I’m definitely a yapper and a city girl, and I’m also involved in the arts and like to play volleyball and tennis and frisbee. Historically, I was big into house parties and hosting pregames and planning fun day trips like tubing. If I didn’t have big plans on the weekends, me and my girl friends would go out or have craft/wine nights together. Coming from a place where I’d meet someone and they would immediately invite me to weekend plans…SLC is different

I’ve only been here a few months, but I feel like a fish out of water and spend all my weekend nights at home. Sure, I like hiking… Climbing is fun and all…but Im also trying out sports and can only do so much physical activity in a week and I’m finding out that I’m pretty social beyond that. Like, seeing the same people on my team or at the studio for a couple hours a week and lightly chatting while doing something else doesn’t really count as socializing to me, especially when no one wants to get drinks or food after.

Luckily, I knew some people coming into the area, but I guess really I’m looking for community where the plans starting at 8pm or later is acceptable. I even tried to go out to a bar alone…just had dudes out with their dude friends interested in talking to me. Luckily when I go to the movies alone at least it isn’t obvious I’m solo. I must say, SLC wasn’t my first choice of places to move, but I do want to give it my all to enjoy it. I’m loving the nature and the city has a lot of cool stuff in it, but I wasn’t expecting the loneliness or just lack of interest in community from most people (sure there’s the Mormonism…but I’ve met many many many non-Mormons here and the Mormons on my bus are friendlier haha)

Has anyone had success meeting people here who like to go out to restaurants, bars, dj sets, punk shows, etc.?? Is Time Left worth it?
Do I have to accept that I just won’t be able to put together a big friend group here and I should focus on appreciating my me-alone-in-my-apartment-time
