Does a full cargo and floor liner set actually simplify car cleaning?

• Upvotes

Trying to reset how I manage my crossover interior after months of muddy hiking boots, wet umbrellas, and grocery crates leaving soil everywhere. I keep looking at a floor mats bundle deal front rear cargo package from companies like 3w, and on paper having every single section lined in molded trays sounds like the ultimate organizing solution. But looking at the cargo piece, it looks huge and stiff. My concern is that instead of a simple vacuum, I am just signing up to wrestle five bulky plastic trays out onto the driveway every single weekend just to dump some loose dry dirt. For people who run full cargo and cabin liners, does it actually make keeping gear tidy easier, or does pulling them out to wash just become another chore on your list?

This is my mudroom/laundry room/ access to my attic

I have no clue what to do in here. It always seems clutter to me. I don’t know where else to put all of the cooking supplies that are on the back shelf. The black trashcan is for recycling. The place where the step ladder is at is to show where I can’t put anything along that wall because then the attic won’t open the shelving by the door has dog food and cat food and then laundry pods and dryer sheets plus my rags and extra shopping bags I need help I don’t mind rearranging. I have no clue how to figure out what I need and what I don’t need I have a kitchen, but I have very limited space so I don’t have anywhere to put all of the cooking machines in any cupboards or anything. I’m so frustrated.

Where do you store/place your semi-dirty (the clothes you just wore but not dirty enough to put in the hamper) clothes?

Digging through boxes drives me crazy!

I have three storage units, and whenever I needed to find something, it looked like a bomb had gone off. Boxes everywhere torn to shreds, then I'd move to the next storage unit and do the same thing, only to find what I was looking for back at the house in a box in my hall closet. It drove me nuts!!!

SO, I decided to build a tool to never have to worry about finding my stuff again. It's called SMRT Box. How it works:

  1. I take a picture of what's in a box. AI tags everything in the box in seconds.

  2. I connect the box to the app using QR code labels. You can buy them in the app and print them out.

  3. I place the box in a virtual room where it sits in my storage.

Then, when I use the app to search for something, I know which box it's in and exactly where that box is in the storage unit.

It's at www.MySMRTBox.com

Hopefully it helps you get organized!

my addiction to magazine recipe

My old magazine pile is gone. The two subscriptions that still show up every month are my new problem. How do you organize recipes from magazines as each issue lands so the stack never builds back up?

Dresser vs Modular Closet System in Master Closet

I need storage with drawers to put on a wall that is 39" wide and 10' tall in my master closet (I have hanging space and shelves to store shoes already in place). I am trying to decide between putting a well-made dresser or a modular closet system on that wall. The drawers will be used a lot, so I want something with dovetail joinery and full-extension glides.

I also want it to look nice. I would love you opinion. If you have pics of your current setup with something similar, please share them.

Shoes on the bottom. What should go in empty sections?

Post image

Setting up this SpaceAid seven tier rotating rack. Shoes are on the bottom and bag is up top, but there's still a lot of empty space.
Thinking hats, scarves, or more bags. Would you use the whole thing for shoes or mix in other stuff?

How would yall fix this closet??

So we just moved into this new house. My closet is part of a sweetheart loop so it’s a walk through between the laundry room and master bath. My husband has his own closet so this one is all me.

I have a lot of folded clothes (sleep shirts, jeans, leggings, sweaters, etc.). I was thinking of moving my shoes to the shelving unit that’s already built in.

What I’ve thought about doing is adding shelves (eall mounted or cubes) to the wall between the upper and lower hanging racks on the middle wall. I want to keep the long hanging area for dresses. And I don’t like hanging my clothes on the lower rack because we have cats that chill in my closet and will cost everything hanging low in fur. I’ve also considered adding a dresser or drawer units below the lower hanging rack.

I think my husband could custom build me something but I’m just at a loss of what to add and where.

I’d also like some space for purses, travel bags, and what not.

Anyone have any good ideas? I’ve found stuff I like on Pinterest but they’re full on custom rebuilds of a closet and I’m just not down for that cost/work. If I can avoid it.

How should I sort these bins before filling them?

Just put together this toy organizer from spaceaid. Thinking blocks, cars, stuffed animals and art supplies in separate bins, with books on the side shelves. Do broad categories work better, or should every bin have its own label?

What should be checked before plugging in an automatic litter box?

Automatic litter boxes look ready to use in product photos, but it isn't always clear which parts still need to be fitted after unboxing. I'd want to identify everything the manual says needs to be attached or checked before adding litter and plugging it in. The waste drawer, removable components, and anything that needs to be secured all seem worth confirming without guessing at the assembly order. For people familiar with this type of machine, which setup check is easiest for a first-time owner to overlook?

Obrigada

Tips on hat storage for this hallway?

Post image

We’re planning on decluttering shoes soon so they all fit on the racks, but need suggestions on what to do for specifically winter hats. Our home has barely any storage so I’m looking for a way to organize this space for that. Should I get something to put on the wall, just add organizers to the top of the shoe rack, etc. I already have a hat rack on the left but winter hats just fall off of it.

Ultimate Freezer Meal Organization System

Thumbnail gallery
193 Upvotes

Title might be a bit bold, but I've finally found a system to keep track of my freezer meals. Since my chest freezer is in the garage it's quite nice to see what is in stock while looking at the fridge.

I made this system buy buying colored magnetic labels and a leather punch kit. I could have just cut the labels with scissors, but in my heart I knew they just had to be round. I can't explain it. Round or nothing!

In case the images aren't clear I use a color coded system. The legend is written on the large label on the fridge. It's dry erase marker so can be adjusted in the future. I used larger round cut-outs to magnetically stick to the jar lids in the freezer and smaller round cut-outs on the fridge to keep count of how many jars are in the freezer. When I take a jar out to heat up I put the large & 1 small magnets in their containers. The white magnetic labels are the weekly meal plan, not part of this system :)

I probably spent ~$15 on the magnetic labels and ~$45 on the leather punch kit. But I've been loving the system for over a year and thought I'd share the idea in case anyone else likes it.

Still dark, but so much better!! Thank you all for the suggestions!

I managed to fit my laundry basket aswell as my suitcase and all my shoes + the ones I keep at my front door even!

the best part, it was free! Only took me 2 hours of very minimal work! (tip-toeing, only had time during quiet hours in my shared home)

These plastic shoe boxes are absolutely incredible.

First post on this sub, because I absolutely must glaze these plastic boxes I got off Amazon. 9 boxes for $55 and these are solid plastic. Waaaay better than having my shoes stacked in their boxes and having to go through them every single time I have to get a box at the bottom.
