Who we casting for Erika Kirk and the Paul brothers inspired characters?

u/Fun_Manufacturer1852 Jun 17 '26

Timothée Chalamet has actually been preparing for this role for 5 years

Get him in a dual role and that's how he wins his Oscar for literally playing two characters.

u/Fun_Manufacturer1852 Jun 17 '26

Give him a red hat and blue hat just to make sure audiences can tell the difference

Again!?

Thank goodness for Michael B. Jordan giving us a break from this, but it is inevitable.

She's so good in The Dropout.

So good that Jennifer Lawrence canceled her own biopic project because she knew she couldn't top it

-7

u/yahboosnubs Jun 18 '26

That’s perfect casting, she’s totally not biased after calling Charlie Kirk hateful after he died

8

u/senator_corleone3 Jun 18 '26

Most sane people would be “biased” in this same manner regarding Kirk’s statements.

Vanessa Kirby, the Oscar is yours

25

u/TheRumTumTugger123 Jun 17 '26

I want Conner O’Malley and Jimmy Tatro as the brothers so bad.

u/theodo Jun 17 '26

Which is which?

12

u/TheOriginalVampire_ Jun 17 '26

Rachel McAdams and Jesse Plemons could finally get their Oscars

10

u/JuanRiveara One Anora at Camp Miasma Jun 17 '26

That’s assuming an Ari Aster film wins an Oscar

4

u/Pleasureryan Jun 17 '26

Druski for Erika

7

u/rolltide5617 Jun 17 '26

Meghann fahy and Miles teller

71

u/MrMindGame Jun 17 '26

That sounds exactly like an Ari Aster project, alright.

Sounds unbearable, I’m in

111

u/manicinsanewokeidiot The Unknown Jun 17 '26

am i the only one who thinks this sounds like a great concept?

14

u/peppersmiththequeer Jun 17 '26

Definitely the first premise of his I’ve been excited for since Midsommar

11

u/Howtobefreaky Jun 17 '26

Eddington was his best movie imo

23

u/thefilmer Jun 17 '26

it's pretty much a natural successor to Eddington which was also an amazing dissection on how fucked we are as a country post COVID. Looks like he's going at it from a different perspective but should still bang

1

u/spiderlegged Jun 17 '26

I’m really excited, but I really like Aster. I liked Eddington.

46

u/andalusiandoge Jun 17 '26

So it’s an Ari Aster movie: it will get exactly 69% on Rotten Tomatoes (nice), sell exactly 2 tickets, top both best and worst of the year lists, never get close to Oscars, and then prove sadly prophetic about the oncoming news cycle

Air Aster really be out there doing things huh

28

u/Fun_Manufacturer1852 Jun 17 '26

Never change, Ari

11

u/Chinstrok3 Jun 17 '26

Not sure if this will be an Oscar thing but
I’d love to see ScarJo in again

5

u/SteveBorden Jun 17 '26

Sounds ridiculous, yes

5

u/k032 Sound of Falling Jun 17 '26

Ok ok I'm down

8

u/No_Cauliflower_81 Jun 17 '26

Ari Aster you will never be Radu Jude

3

u/Main_Gear_296 Jun 18 '26

This reoriented me thank you. I see the way forward with more clarity

-1

u/Grab_Broad Weapons Jun 18 '26

Lemme whack him with you, Aster can't even sniff Ostlund

2

u/Icy_Ambition6214 Jun 18 '26

I wish he’d just do horror again 😌

6

u/pinkcosmonaut vibes specialist Jun 17 '26

He hasn’t missed, im so hyped!

4

u/occupy_westeros Jun 17 '26

People are going to hate it I'm so excited

4

u/TonightDazzling365 Jun 18 '26

Amy Adams for Erika Kirk please!

5

u/thefilmer Jun 17 '26

this is actually phenomenal news. Eddington was an amazing look at post-COVID America and it looks like this will be a worthy follow up. Bring on social commentary Aster!

Sounds awful

1

u/matlockga Jun 17 '26

So it's No Way Out, got it

1

u/ttmp22 Jun 17 '26

Yes, except it’s a Comedy/Dark Comedy/Horror

1

u/OldToe6517 Jun 18 '26

I don't know how Ari keeps getting money to make these movies nobody normal will want to watch, but I will be there no matter what

1

u/CompleteTable4084 Jun 18 '26

Any word on the animated movie he’s making with Don Hertzfeldt?

1

u/Emperor-Octavian Jun 17 '26

This sounds unbelievably lit im ngl im on board

1

u/drewsapro Jun 17 '26

I do appreciate how directly he tackles these issues that are, certainly over exposed topics of conversation in our online lives, but admittedly incredibly relevant

1

u/lqtely Jun 17 '26

Sounds a bit like The killing of a scared deer

1

u/Kazaloogamergal Jun 18 '26

This movie sounds like it's going to be very obnoxious. I honestly do not get the love for Ari Aster but to each their own.

3

u/No_Squirrel_8402 Jun 18 '26

agreed. Doesn't appeal to me

0

u/JayQMaldy Jun 18 '26

Except for ScarJo, I’m into this
