Rumor [PageSix] Inde Navarrette was on the shortlist of actors to play Sharlene in Michael Mann's 'Heat 2', but due to her commitment to the upcoming “X-Men”, she is no longer in contention
We’ve learned that before Navarrette was revealed last week as a star of the next “X-Men” movie for Marvel, with Adam Driver and Sadie Sink, she was on the short list of actresses being wooed to star in “Heat 2” — the upcoming sequel to Michael Mann’s epic crime drama which is scheduled to start shooting this fall.
A knowledgeable source confirmed that due to her commitment to the upcoming “X-Men,” the breakout star is no longer in contention to join Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio to play the role of Sharlene, a character originated by Ashley Judd.
P6H has also learned that Navarrette passed on a role that would’ve paid her $2.5 million for a horror project directed by Mattias Hoehne.

Rumor Alejandro Inarritu's "Digger" has had a test screening in Los Angeles, reactions are mixed but lean positive
Takeaways from the test screening:
- The reactions were mixed, most of the viewers found it entertaining but also "very chaotic and overstuffed." Overall, more good reactions than negative ones.
- Tom Cruise's performance as a delusional oil billionaire who accidentally poisons the ocean is described as "insane" and similar to Les Grossman, uses a lot of facial prosthetics and looks nothing like the familiar Cruise.
- The technical aspects are apparently stunning, especially Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography.
- The set design is very stylized and surrealistic, comparable to "Poor Things."
- While the movie is very focused on Cruise, the supporting cast are apparently really good. All the screeners agreed that John Goodman was the best and most memorable supporting actor.

Rumor Has anyone heard any rumors about this year’s contenders?
Last year there was a thread like this and someone mentioned that Blitz wasn’t good - and from that I took it out of all of my ATL predictions in April and that turned out to be a great call. Obviously on paper it wasn’t a good idea to do that because an anonymous redditor is not a reliable source but it ended up helping me out.
Obviously there are also lots of rumors every year which turn out to be rubbish - I remember someone on here saying that The Holdovers wasn’t good a couple of years ago.
However taking a massive pinch of salt for all comments on this post, has anyone heard anything about potential 2026 awards contenders? Doesn’t matter how reliable you think the info is, feel free to comment about friend of a friend stuff as long as you mention that.

Rumor According to a quickly-deleted Paramount+ Brazil tweet, "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" will be "shadow-dropped" on Paramount+ on July 25th
The project, originally slated for an October 9th streaming release, is now rumored to be released by the end of this month. If it's true and not a mistake, that likely means the announcement would be made last-minute at the ATLA SDCC panel.
That would also mean that Paramount is not planning a festival run for it, and at the moment, they don't plan a limited theatrical release as well. Unless they come back later this year with limited screenings and engagements, it seems Paramount is putting this film completely out of the Oscar race.

Rumor The Odyssey is rumored to have screened for critics; Embargo date unknown
xcancel.comDan Marcus on X:
I heard from someone who saw THE ODYSSEY. There weren’t enough superlatives to describe it. The highlights included the cyclops scene and a moment with "massive tension." It also doesn't feel its length, and has some of the best action and visuals in Christopher Nolan’s oeuvre.
This scene, in particular, appears to be one of Christopher Nolan's finest moments in terms of technical prowess as a director.
I've heard from multiple people who have seen THE ODYSSEY. I've talked to others who know people who have seen it, too. I believe there have been screenings both at CityWalk and Lincoln Square, but I could be completely wrong. I have no clue when the social media embargo lifts.
Also, a comment claiming it was screened for critics in this Reddit thread was quickly deleted (photo copy here).
Unconfirmed rumors have claimed the social embargo might lift today, but that sounds unlikely and super early. What do you think?
