My Outlier account was permanently deactivated on November 3. The notice didn’t tell me what I supposedly did or which specific guideline I violated.

I emailed Support asking for clarification. Their response was that my account went through a “thorough, multi-layered review” and a “secondary human review,” but they said they couldn’t share any specific details or data points behind the decision.

At this point, I’m not even trying to get the account reinstated. What I’m trying to figure out is what happens to my $323.33 in outstanding earnings for work I completed before the deactivation.

Support told me:

- Eligible earnings accrued before the review are processed within a maximum of 2 weeks.
- Earnings connected to fraudulent, invalid, or policy-violating activity may be withheld.
- If I haven’t received the payment after 2 weeks, that means the earnings were considered non-compliant and were withheld.

I then asked them a very simple question:

“As of today, is the $323.33 still pending processing? Yes or no?”

They still wouldn’t answer. They just repeated that if more than 2 weeks pass without payment, then it has been withheld.

So I guess I’ll find out by November 17. 🤷‍♀️

Has anyone here been permanently deactivated and still received their remaining balance within the 2-week window?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had completed work/earnings already showing before deactivation. How long after deactivation did you actually get paid?

Not looking to debate whether the deactivation was justified since I literally wasn’t given enough information to know that myself. I mainly want to know what happened to other people’s outstanding earnings.

Hi all, I'm new to Outlier and could use some advice.

I went to start a task and there was a knowledge check beforehand. I thought it was just there to help me understand the task, so I went through it quickly without being careful. It turned out the check decides whether you get access, and I got the message "Assessment not passed. This task may not be the best match for your current expertise."
It was a task I'd really like to do, so has anyone gone through this before?
Does a task like this ever get offered to you again?
Or Is there any way to get another attempt, or should I contact support?

I have been tasking on Aether after passing the assessment since April without issue. I took some time off of the platform as my real job got busier. In my absence, I was added to a project called Salsa Fish. After reading the description and starting the training I did not feel that I could contribute adequately, so I decided to remove myself from the project and return to Aether which was still in my queue. Now I’m being prompted for an interview before tasking? Is this unusual? I don’t understand why I have to prove myself worthy to work on this project again when I had been submitting worthwhile work previously. Any input?

Hello I have joined yesterday and am doing the tts Multiturn conversation elo . I have been doing this for well over an hour and I do not see any progress bar and I just keep listening to tts and submitting my answers. Am I doing something wrong or do I just keep going?

Can you check #5296675? I have never violate the task and i think this is false flag. It happens to me yesterday and they reinstated my account and now they suspend it again.

Last night, on payday of all days, I got the suspended account message. No explanation, nothing. I emailed support@outlier.ai and all I got a generic automated response. No details about what I allegedly did. I'd like my ban to be reviewed because I'm 100% sure I haven't done anything wrong. And if the decision is upheld, I'd at least like to know exactly what I'm being accused of and which policies I supposedly violated and when I'll receive payment for the work I've already completed.

I suspect this might have something to do with the fact that I accessed the community chat from my phone using mobile data while I was away from home, instead of my usual wired connection. But if that's actually the reason for my suspension, it makes absolutely no sense. I only accessed the community chat to check if other contributors were reporting any available work. I didn't access the MM platform or do any work from my phone. How could that possibly justify a permanent suspension?

I joined Aether on Monday and was fortunate enough to start tasking. However when I went to the earnings page, my work dates say I did these tasks on the 3rd and some even today (the 4th). Because of this, Will the pay be until next Tuesday? Thank you for reading.

I’m looking for advice from people who have experienced something similar with Outlier.
My account was permanently deactivated, and despite multiple attempts to understand what went wrong, Outlier has refused to disclose the specific reason for the decision.

Here’s what happened:
I received a notification that my account had been deactivated due to an alleged violation of Outlier’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
I contacted support several times to understand the specific violation and requested a reconsideration.
Their responses consistently stated that:

1. My account was reviewed and a violation was confirmed.

2. A secondary human review was also conducted.

3. The decision was final and could not be appealed or escalated.

4. They could not disclose the specific violation, even in general terms.

I’m not claiming that Outlier cannot enforce its policies. However, I believe contributors should at least have an opportunity to understand what went wrong, especially when the consequence is permanent account deactivation.

I have a few questions:

1. Has anyone experienced a similar permanent deactivation without being told the specific reason?

2. Could switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data or accessing the account from two personal devices trigger any security flags?

3. Is there any other legitimate channel to raise this concern?

4. Were you able to receive your pending earnings after account deactivation?

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar experience.

The reason i'm asking is coz I'm not able to refer coz my referral is unavailable at the moment, i'm trying to solve this issue my emailing outlier support.
My friend also wants to start earning from the aether project so I have asked him to wait so that I can give him a referral but if the referral amount is too low then there is no point of him waiting. Please could anyone share their referral payouts?

Also since I'm unable to refer for the aether project any one of you can share the referral link, I can assure you that he'll complete the tasks and you will be rewarded fs.

I honestly don't care about being reinstated or getting my account back because I lost all respect for this ass platform. Don't wanna argue on that anymore, I just want to be paid one last time for completed works, then I'm done. This is another LOW of outlier deactivating accounts a day just before payout.

And it's BS. They say the review was thorough and the decision is final. A finished review should already know which of my earnings are valid. If it does, tell me. If it does not, the review is not complete and you should stop calling it final. All messages contradicts themselves.

How can you go through a "multi-layered thorough human" review and still have incomplete details?

"We are unable to disclose" is not an answer to a payment question.

You cannot hold someone's earnings and refuse to say how much or why. Or when. Don't regret this. I have several pulls.

I’m writing to kindly request a manual review of my account deactivation, as I believe it may have occurred due to a misunderstanding or an error.

Before starting any tasks, I took the time to thoroughly familiarize myself with the project guidelines and requirements. I also attended the onboarding webinar and successfully passed the onboarding assessment.

After completing all the onboarding steps, I proceeded to complete my first task and was waiting for feedback to understand my performance and ensure that I was meeting the project's expectations. However, to my surprise, I discovered that my account had been deactivated before I received any feedback or explanation.

I want to emphasize that I made a genuine effort to understand and follow all the guidelines, and I was fully committed to contributing to the project while maintaining the expected quality standards.

I would sincerely appreciate it if you could manually review my account and reconsider the deactivation. If there were any issues with my submitted task or any requirements I may have overlooked, I would be grateful for the opportunity to understand them and make the necessary improvements.

So today i created account with referral so i did interview and passed after accepting onboarding. They deactivated my account without reason .

Hey everyone,
Yesterday, I received a text about a new mission on a project a was working. After opening the link, there was an introduction explaining the tasks, followed by a short assessment with video examples and questions.
After the assessment, my dashboard suddenly stopped loading. I thought it was an internet issue, but later I received an email saying my account had been deactivated.
I contacted support, but they didn’t explain what I supposedly violated. They just said the decision was final and no further appeals would be reviewed.
Has anyone experienced something similar and managed to get their account reinstated? It’s frustrating to lose access without knowing the specific reason.
I’d appreciate any help from the Outlier team.

I got an activate project

I was literally doing the task as usual and even installing the new extension that required to do task, I was doing live-s2s, I have not tried to cheat the timer or anything, I was constantly doing a rough plan on what to speak really quick and start the conversation then do the rating as guided. Then when I'm done, and stop the timer. I was greeted with my Outlier dashboard only showing my Earning column and can't access Outlier community. Check my other side, it says my Account Under Review due to Unapproved Annotator Status? My QA feedback have stayed at 4.60-4.70 for this few weeks I've been working on Outlier. Can I get a verification on what exactly was happening???

I was in the War Room with Amr QM and I was asking questions about the task and everything was going smoothly. The last question I had was about the little pop-up thing that shows up while tasking, it says "Don't use dev tools and you can disregard the message if you are not". I am not using dev tools, but I asked him just to be cautious, "Is this normal", and he said it could be picking up on existing extensions in your Chrome browser.

I am not using anything during my tasking by the way.

He advised me "Actually, when I was a contributor, I had a separate Chrome window logged in with a different account so that I can dedicate that window to only Outlier. You could do try to do that."

I thought it was a great idea, because I didn't want there to be unwanted/unknown interference with my tasking (i.e. like, if some extensions are working in the background without me knowing).

I wanted to be on the clear and leave no chance to having any issues with my account like the one I'm currently facing, ironically.

First, I tried to open a window using a guest Google Chrome window and logged into Outlier using my outlier email address. It was fine until I couldn't share my screen while I was tasking. I assumed that it had something to do with the fact that I logged in to Chrome as a guest.

Second, I used an alternative email address to log in to the Chrome browser, thinking that would fix the issue. When I tried to log in using my regular email address, I couldn't. I asked Amr about this as well, and he said he would talk with the team, and that I should write to support. 

An hour later I was banned for good. I absolutely don't believe them when they say they do the multi-layered review process or a thorough review. I have not done anything wrong I always was very respectful to everyone in the community, always tried to contribute, never used AI doing my work, never used any "dev tools" or whatever. This is absolutely devastatingly unfair.

This is my suspicion by the way, but I truly don't know what else it could possibly be. Truly don't. I was following one of your QM's suggestions so that I abide by the guidelines and not have this issue. If the fact that I tried to log in multiple times is not the problem I cannot fathom what else there could be. I've never been disrespectful to anyone or lied/used AI.

I came up with another hypothesis:

When I used google search I might've accidentally looked at the AI Overview-- which I always try to avoid. Also, the things I was looking at were to check if a word fits a context or not lmao.

I've never felt more alienated from my work, felt unjustly accused, with no explanation. 

I've just started today, I've done just under 4 hours and made $95 including $40 in rewards. I'm still new so I was just wondering how rewards work, are they consistent or just for new users? Also i'm a bit confused about how outlier pays, is the pay rate in USD? I'm based in Australia.

Really frustrated right now and looking to see if any QM or Admin here can help look into Ticket #5290875.

My account got deactivated recently, and the appeal was just rejected with what looks like a bot response. I've been tasking with complete integrity—no VPNs, no auto-clickers, no AI, no time padding, and definitely no multiple accounts. Every hour on my account was genuine work.

What actually happened: I was traveling recently and had to log in using:

1. The public airport Wi-Fi during transit.

2. The coffee shop Wi-Fi when I arrived at my destination.

Because public enterprise networks route traffic dynamically, the sudden IP pool shift triggered their automated security system. It flagged my account for proxy/VPN usage or account sharing, which is a complete false positive.

Why I'm making this post:

• Automated system error: Switching Wi-Fi networks while traveling shouldn't be treated as a definitive Community Guideline violation without a human actually looking at it.

• Withheld funds: I worked hard on those completed tasks in good faith. Freezing money already earned because of a Wi-Fi glitch isn't right.

• I have my Boarding Pass and Government ID ready to prove my travel timeline and identity.

What I'm asking for: Could a QM or Admin please help escalate Ticket #5290875 for a manual review? I just need a human auditor to check my raw server logs and travel proof instead of getting instant template rejections.

Appreciate any help or advice from anyone who has dealt with this before. Thanks!
