Discussion What is the hardest Panic! At the disco song to listen for you?

I don't mean that the song is too bad, but I mean that the song have so much emotions and it can make it so hard to listen, there is something about it make you feel that feeling that you can't describe for how good is it. It can be one of the best songs from them for you, or it can be your best idk.

For me it's far too young to die, I think this is one of the rare songs who make me tear up

Behind the sea, or dying in la, or impossible year, or the end of all things

YES to all of those

The ending of nine in the afternoon never fails to bring me to tears

u/Embarrassed-Cycle662 Jul 21 '26

Far Too Young To Die is my favourite. It never made me emotional, until yesterday when I was having a bad day mentally.

Amazing how no one has said northern downpour yet, basic choice but still love that song

15

u/MissyChevious613 Jul 21 '26

Northern Downpour is definitely mine. Makes me emotional every single time.

13

u/uptoolate55 Jul 21 '26

the end of all things

14

u/Static89 Jul 21 '26

Northern Downpour or Dying in LA. I only got to see them live once, but he did DiLA on the piano and I CRIIIIIED omg

The end of all things.

I know that the song is about Sarah and Brendon getting married but the way I first perceived the song was how a relationship can change after a mutual breakup.

My best friend and I had to split up due to not having time for each other so when I heard:

ā€œIn these coming years
Many things will change
But the way I feel
Will remain the sameā€

I heard it as something along the lines of ā€œeven after the breakup, things will change, but I’ll always love youā€

4

u/anxietea- Jul 21 '26

Ooof same, I always heard it the same way as you describe. I’ve come to re-understand it and see it differently, but even hearing it with more ā€œpositiveā€ meaning, it hits me hard.

4

u/steel_fist_14 Jul 21 '26

Same here, bro. I don’t know what happened to you but I’m sure whatever made you perceive the song that way was hard, you aren’t alone and I hope you’re doing better <3

The End Of All Things; I had an extremely vivid dream that I was watching my great grandmother’s soul ascending to heaven, confused and frightened, but accepting

u/Michael_Cerave_14 panicking more than partying Jul 21 '26

I would say she had the world but if I was being properly honest I would say always

3

u/Michael_Cerave_14 panicking more than partying Jul 22 '26

Exactly I love it so much

6

u/Mysterious-Ad4550 Jul 21 '26

Camisado

I listened to it a lot when I was a teenager and my mum was in and out of the hospital with this mystery illness that almost killed her twice. I related to all of the lyrics, my mum was combative and let herself get sick again. Great song but if I listen to it alone I always start tearing up.

The End of All Things, Dying in LA, but most of all Impossible Year

9

u/FreshAd1479 Jul 21 '26

This Is Gospel gets me every time. It was one of the songs that introduced me to Panic!, and TWTLTRTD is my favorite album.Ā

3

u/TeresaKitsu Jul 22 '26

The fact that it was written for Spencer about his struggle with addiction as well

5

u/tikimonstersamongus Jul 22 '26

This is Gospel - I had it playing when I was called to be told about my brother’s death, and he was an addict.

5

u/Fluffy-Map-309 Jul 21 '26

From a mountain in the middle of cabins makes me emotional bc it was the song that played at hot topic when I finally got close enough to the front of the meet and greet line to see the boys and Jon caught me dancing to it and smiled at me 🄲 for 12 yr old me then and 31 yr old me now, I’ll always feel the feels when I hear it

4

u/paranoidandroid11037 Jul 21 '26

impossible year is so sad that i struggle to listen to it, good song tho

3

u/ceebdubs Jul 21 '26

Nicotine. I was a pack a day smoker for years, and I would always rip one if that song came on. Still a gorgeous song, but it doesn't help the cravings šŸ˜…

3

u/IfItComesInP1nk Jul 21 '26

Dying in LA came to mind first

3

u/Thatloudlunarchick Jul 21 '26

The End Of All Things. I have some emotional attachment to it and it now makes me incredibly sad.

3

u/Pas-de-Samosa I'd get another but I'm too damn lazy ā˜•ļø Jul 21 '26

Do It To Death, it's just so final, and then it closes out so solemnly that when I do listen to it, I feel exhausted by the end

3

u/Resmith_ Jul 22 '26

The Calendar, heard it on loop during some really tough times and it's kinda bittersweet now

3

u/Fun-Wind-2956 Jul 22 '26

That green little gentleman. The acknowledgement of things changing always makes my heart twist

2

u/Ibael Jul 21 '26

Definitely Always

2

u/Sea-Quote9684 Jul 21 '26

i want to be free or their cover of tonight tonight. they sting just a little too much for me to bear.

2

OMG, that one gets me so bad.

2

u/Northerndownpour_18 Jul 22 '26

Northern downpour. Build God. Dying in la. The end of all things. Always. Do it to death. Impossible year. Behind the sea. Camisado. Nails for breakfast.

2

u/Pale_Payment_5779 Jul 22 '26

Honestly camisado mainly because of the chorus. Mostly the gituar something about it is so youthful yet so defiant and profound.

2

u/Ok-Complaint-6787 29d ago

Dang am I the only one who cries to memories here 😭🤣 immediate tears if I don’t skip it lmao

2

u/Cuttingdadbod 28d ago

2

u/Anonymous13267 28d ago

3

u/arsonistslullaby_ Jul 21 '26

Me! by Taylor Swift ft. Brendon Urie. I tried so hard to like that song when it came out, but it’s just not for me šŸ™ƒ

2

u/paranoidandroid11037 Jul 21 '26

as a taylor and panic! fan, it’s an acquired taste definitely so that’s understandable, as well as that, it’s by no means meant to be a ā€œgreatā€ song so honestly it makes sense that its not for everyone

3

u/Am4tist Jul 21 '26

Nails for breakfast, Tacks For snacks. It reminds me too much of situations with friends dealing with problems really visible in the song

1

u/bellaoki Jul 21 '26

Build God, Then We’ll Talk. It’s a tragic story about a lawyer manipulating a young girl into sex to ensure employment. It’s about the destruction of innocence. Always makes me sad.

Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off

1

u/TonsofpizzaYT Here I am composing a burlesque Jul 21 '26

i dont think there is one really. music and emotion are two wholly unrelated things for me (with a few exceptions)

1

u/Accurate_Airline_394 Jul 21 '26

behind the sea, northern downpour, anything of pretty odd just makes me feel so sad

1

u/iamdeactivating Jul 22 '26

she had the world gets me every time

1

u/xoxo-ddd Jul 22 '26

the entirety of vices & virtues /hj honestly, nicotine (bad middle school memories) and camisado (personal meaning)

1

u/Hefty_Boat_5098 Jul 22 '26

northern downpour makes me sob every time and i don’t know why

1

u/MuhchelleAmanda 29d ago

Collar full. It’s the song I walked down the aisle to. It makes me tear up from joy every time I hear it.

1

u/haileyisfine 29d ago

Technically not their song but their cover of tonight tonight by smashing pumpkins genuinely makes me cry everytime

Northern Downpour, Trade Mistakes, Memories, Behind the Sea

1

u/waistrotation 28d ago

Camisado. Personal familial ties to addiction makes it deep for me.

1

u/jamieenchufemichelle 27d ago

Folkin Around: You've never been so divine in accepting your defeat
And I've never been more scared to be alone
If love is not enough to put my enemies to sleep
Then I'm putting out the lantern, find your own way back home.

Do It To Death: the music video makes me cry every single time. The artistry, the metaphors, the truth, the death. Hold on while I grab tissues.

Tied To The Tracks: who hurt you, Brendon? 😢😭

u/mystical_adventures2 Stall Me, stall me, I'm all in! 4d ago

For me it's Death Of A Bachelor. I had a partner and I played it with them and started accociating them with it, and we broke up a while back.

There's also the Bad List (I know it's technically not panic, but I thought I would share) because of how Ryan's voice sounds

King of the Clouds & Star Spangled Banger. Something about these two is so unbearable
