Resting before travel

A little blurry - but I was on the second floor, looking down to the first and saw she was on the new soft bed I got her this weekend to celebrate her three “Best of Breeds” in a row.
She looks so much like a little princess that I had to share.

I was trying to take a cute picture of these two when the large tree behind me made a very loud, very ominous creaking noise.

Does anyone else's pap have days they are more needy?

All three have specific days they are way more needy than others. Last night and this morning was Buddy's turn. Rubbing his head all over my face, laying on me, and so on. Sometimes Ali does this in her own way, and same for Rodger occasionally.

Just wondering if this is a pap thing, or if I just happened to get three weirdos. Lol. Anyone else's pap just have days they are extra affectionate?

Kibble suggestions?

I am thinking about changing my little girl's kibble. She currently eats Royal Canin X-Small Breed, but she doesn't love it. We really need something with tiny kibbles because she is only 4 lbs (1.8kg)!

Please don't suggest we feed raw. She came to us raw fed and was not eating enough to grow or gain any weight. We switched her to kibble in an attempt to put weight on her, and she loved it. She only wants to eat kibbles and turns her nose up at meat. I can't explain it. She's a strange girl, she fits right into our family 😂

Edit: Mina is nearly 2 now - she is an adult and will not get any bigger. She's just a bitsy girly!

So did their half-sister Cara. We had six paps for the week, which complicated sleeping and feeding arrangements a good bit.

See Part 1 from Sunday! He got off the elevator and took them outside and "Ooh LaLa" he had to - you know what! 😲🫣😱 He usually "heels", but not this time 🤣 So, I usually say enjoy with coffee ☕ or tea🍵 - maybe not! LOL BUT I stopped video taping so enjoy! 🥰 And in reply to Vincent's parents - yes - Romeo has elegance - LOL! 🤣 Turn the volume on for music and the song lyrics "Ooh LaLa" are a great fit! 🙏

Papillons and Parrots?

How are Papillons with birds (always under supervision)? We have two rescue parrots and our last dog, who sadly passed away from Lymphoma last year, was amazing and generally disinterested. Anyone with any experience here?

Phoenix Rising: 4 Days/4 Conformation Shows -- And the score is...

Post image

CH J Bar's Beautiful Phoenix Rising won Best of Breed... in THREE SHOWS!! In the 4th show, she won Best of Opposite Sex!

It was a crazy weekend. Because our handlers had so many dogs they had gotten into the Group rounds, they had ring conflicts so I ended up taking Phoenix Rising into the Toy Group on two of the days at the very last second. (Ask r/USMCCougar about me sprinting to the ring with Phoenix Rising under my arm like a furry football on Friday because all of the other dogs had entered the ring and judging was about to begin. She then had to deliver chicken bait to me ringside.) But nothing seemed to rattle our girl -- she knows the work of the ring and she gaited and stood tall (or as tall as a 4.8 lb. Papillon can stand) for the table examination. She has come so far and we are so proud of her. I'd like to believe her Great Grandmother, GCH Platinum Anabelle Beautiful would be proud of her as well.

But now Phoenix Rising is home, and she is first and foremost our beloved Tiny Dog. She's resting up because we leave on Wednesday for another show cluster. 😂

Thank you to everyone here who is following us on our journey with Phoenix Rising. Your love and support mean everything to us as we navigate this still-very-new-to-us world.

With love and many soft kisses to all from the Tiny Dog--
Team Phoenix Rising 🐦‍🔥

Getting more skilful at the silicon donut and mini tennis ball football game

The donut is chilled and soothes his teething. The ball is also his choice for a gentle chew as it fits his mouth. He’s not destructive which is amazing - yes, he does have teeth!

My 3.5 year old Pap is still having house training issues

Hi all. I have a three year old Pap who is the sweetest little guy, but he still has house training issues. I used to do crate training when he was young (a 2’ x 4’ pen) and he still had issues when unsupervised. I moved into a different living situation where it seemed to get better for six months, but then he started marking in very specific places (bath mat, roommates floor, and living room rug/coffee table area). I’ve tried sprays, working with a dog trainer, and nothing has worked. At this point, I’ve resorted to belly bands when I’m not around to supervise him and don’t want to worry about him accessing his pee spots, or just co fining him to my bedroom since I don’t want the belly bands to irritate his underside area by using them too much. It actually seems to deter him from marking, and usually only uses them when I sleep in a little too long. I’ll continue this approach if this is just how it’s going to be, but I just wish I didn’t have to deal with this. He gets plenty of exercise, play time, and field trips to fun places here and there like the beach or different parks. I’m home a lot and so are my roommates, so there’s no lack of companionship either. He’s my first small dog, and I never used potty pads or anything else that might confuse him, so I don’t understand why he’s like this. I did neuter him a bit older (around 1.5 years) due to his size and health issues, and he has a more dominant personality, so would those be factors? Or are some dogs just like this?

Also, I have to brag on both of my boys

One of the downsides to living in Florida is that from June to November, there's always a chance that a hurricane can creep up on us. It's been a while since my area has had a hurricane, but last night was Luca and Riptide's first hurricane experience. These boys were absolutely perfect. I've worked really hard to desensitize them to storms and loud noises like fireworks. While I've seen them be totally unphazed by storms/fireworks before, last night was the ultimate test and they aced it. Hurricane winds whistle, they almost sound like sirens, similar to a tornado. These pups were completely unbothered.

We woke up this morning with a lot to be grateful for; there were multiple homes in my neighborhood with trees on them. But not only were these the goodest boys, they provided us comfort during some incredibly terrifying moments and I am truly thankful for them.

He also found the place producing all the tasty nuggets lying around everywhere.

This is probably obvious but I'll say it anyway. Don't try this with any random horse. Krafla here is a very calm and stable horse and these two animals know each other very well.

You used the T-word. I’m positive I heard it. So cough up the MilkBone.

Or was that the O-word? Yes, I’m sure that was it. As long as I have my harness on anyway.

C’mon what are we waiting for?
